Egy videófelvételen látható, ahogy az ijedt vásárlók menekülnek egy Georgia államban található Walmart áruházból. Az üzletben ugyanis tűz ütött ki, ami miatt a tetőszerkezet egy része beomlott.
A Fox5 Atlanta beszámolója szerint a tűz helyi idő szerint szerda este 7:20 körül tört ki az amerikai Georgia államban található Peachtree City Walmart áruházában.
Miközben a tűzoltók nagy mennyiségű vízzel oltották a tüzet, jelentették, hogy a tető szerkezeti elemei elkezdtek beomlani. Ennek következtében az oltás parancsnoka úgy döntött, hogy visszahívja a tűzoltókat, akik az épület külső oldaláról folytatták az oltást – mondta Will Harbin, a Peachtree City tűzoltóság parancsnokhelyettese.
Az üzlet belsejében készült videón látható, amint a pánikba esett vásárlók igyekeznek a kijáratok felé menekülni a lángok elől.
A beszámolók szerint egy árucikkekkel teli állvány gyulladt ki, azonban a tűz okát még vizsgálják a hatóságok. A gyújtogatás lehetőségét vizsgáló nyomozók is kiérkeztek a helyszínre.
A füst egyébként akkora volt, hogy még az elsőként kiérkező rendőrök közül is többeket kórházba kellett szállítani. A Walmart dolgozói és vásárlói közül (az eddigi információk szerint) senki nem sérült meg, a károk teljes mértékét pedig még vizsgálják.
