Az ideiglenes elhelyezést azzal indokolta, hogy ez a “több mint 40 ezer ember kénytelen volt elhagyni Ukrajnát, ezért érkeztek Oroszországba”, akiket a rosztovi területen helyeznek el ideiglenes szállásokon, ahol az emberek meleg ételhez juthatnak, és a kommunikáció is ki van építve.
A kelet-ukrajnai határon február 17-én kezdett el eszkalálódni a helyzet, habár nehéz az információk között megtalálni a valóságot, mivel az orosz fél rendszeresen az urkán erőket vádolja különböző fegyveres megmozdulásokkal, míg az ukrán fél az orosz erőket vádolja.
A Luhanszki és a Donyecki Népköztársaságok vezetői pedig pénteken közölték, hogy a lakosságot Oroszországba fogják evakuálni arra hivatkozva, hogy “egyre növekvő veszély fenyegeti a lakosságot az ellenségeskedés miatt”.
