Egyenlítői-Guinea bejelentette a halálos Marburg-vírus első kitörését, miután egy ismeretlen, vérzéses lázat okozó betegség legalább kilenc emberrel végzett a közép-afrikai ország nyugati részén.

A vizsgálatokat a szenegáli Dakarban található Pasteur Intézet laboratóriumában végezték − közölte a Bloomberg hírügynökség.
A Marburg-vírus rendkívül virulens, és vérzéses lázat okoz, a halálozási arány elérheti a 88 százalékot. Ugyanabba a családba tartozik, mint az ebolát okozó vírus.
A múlt héten Egyenlítői-Guinea hatóságai karanténba helyeztek 200 embert, akik kapcsolatban álltak a nyugati Kie Ntem tartományban feltételezett esetekkel. Az ország szomszédai ellenintézkedéseket tettek.
