 Philippe Lazzarini, az UNRWA főbiztosa arról tájékoztatott, hogy az al-Maghazi menekülttáborban található iskolájukat érte találat az övezet központi részén.
  
 
 A támadásban több tucatnyian megsebesültek, köztük a szervezet személyzetének tagjai is, az iskolában pedig súlyos szerkezeti kár keletkezett. Hozzátette: a sérültek száma valószínűleg emelkedni fog.
 A főbiztos felháborítónak nevezte az iskola elleni támadást, mert az meglátása szerint jól mutatja, mennyire nem veszik figyelembe a civil lakosság megkímélésének kötelezettségét.
 „Gázában már nincs biztonságos hely, még az UNRWA-létesítmények sem azok” – szögezte le.
 A szervezet közlése szerint az eltalált iskolában legalább négyezer ember keresett menedéket.
