Harminckét halálos áldozata volt a kahovkai gátrobbantásnak – közölte az ukrán védelmi minisztérium kedden, a három hónapja történt súlyos incidensről kiadott hivatalos jelentésében.
A beszámoló szerint a kahovkai vízerőmű zsiliprendszerének június 6-i megsemmisülése miatt a halálos áldozatok mellett 28-an megsérültek, 39 embert pedig máig eltűntként tartanak nyilván.
A Dnyeper (Dnyipro) folyó árvidékén, ahol hozzávetőleg 900 ezer ember él, nem bukkant fel a kolera – derül ki a jelentésből. Ihor Kuzin ukrán egészségügyi miniszterhelyettes szerint mindössze 22 fertőzöttet regisztráltak szennyezett víz miatt a Kijev ellenőrzése alatt álló területeken.
Kijev Moszkvát vádolja az orosz ellenőrzés alatt álló Nova Kahovka településen lévő víztározó gátjának felrobbantásával. Oroszország tagadja Ukrajna vádját, és Kijev tüzérségi csapásait hibáztatja a szerencsétlenségért. A gátszakadás pusztító árvizet okozott a térségben, amit súlyosbítottak a régióban dúló harcok.
Az ukrán minisztérium hangsúlyozta, hogy a kárfelmérés és a veszteségek a kijevi kormányerők ellenőrzése alatt álló területekre érvényesek, ugyanakkor az elárasztott térség több mint 68 százalékát orosz csapatok ellenőrzik, így a valós adatokat továbbra is homály fedi. Az orosz sajtó legutóbb 57 halottról jelentett a Moszkva ellenőrzése alatt lévő térségből.
Összesen 612 négyzetkilométer terület került víz alá, és több ezer környékbeli lakos kényszerült otthona elhagyására a gátrobbantás következtében.
