Brutális módon vesztette életét a mindössze 14 éves Lucia Fernandez. A tinédzser lány előtt állt volna még az egész élete, de már nem teljesedhetett ki. A szerelem hozta el számára a végzetét.
Az argentínai Mendozában élő Luciát az egyik osztálytársa, egy 15 éves fiú elcsábította egy elhagyatott házhoz, ahol megverte és megölte augusztus 24-én, kedden. Mindezt azért, mert a lány elmondta neki, hogy várandós a gyermekével.
A fiú ezért többször fejbe vágta egy kővel a fiatal kismamát, majd körülbelül 15 alkalommal megszúrta a nyakán és a hasán. Lucia holttestét a házban hagyta, majd elmenekült a helyszínről.
Luciát mindössze 20 perccel később egy szomszédja fedezte fel, de sajnos a sérülései olyan súlyosak voltak, hogy addigra már elhunyt. A gyilkos tinédzsert is látta távozni, így nem sokáig menekülhetett a hatóság elől.
„Úgy ölte meg, mint egy kutyát, leszúrta, és az arcát péppé verte” – mondta a gyászoló édesapa.

Az orvos szakértő később megerősítette, hogy a fiatal lány halálát a hasán lévő mély szúrt seb okozta. A hatóságok nem sokkal később házkutatást tartottak Lucia osztálytársának az otthonában, ami során megtalálták a véres cipőjét, valamint a kést is.
