Az albán rendőrség közlése szerint a bírót egy 30 éves férfi, E. Sh. kezdőbetűkkel azonosított gyanúsított lőtte le a tárgyalóteremben. Kalaja a kórházba szállítás közben belehalt sérüléseibe.
A támadó két másik személyt is megsebesített a teremben, de az ő sérüléseik nem életveszélyesek.
A lövöldözés után E. Sh. elmenekült a helyszínről, ám később elfogták, és a rendőrség lefoglalta a revolvert, amellyel feltehetően a támadást elkövette.
A bűncselekmény indítéka egyelőre ismeretlen, a hatóságok erről nem adtak ki információt.

Egy 1983-as születésű ukrán állampolgár életét vesztette Albániában egy vízi baleset következtében – közölte az Ukrán Külügyminisztérium. A minisztérium tájékoztatása szerint:
„A hozzátartozók közlése alapján az elhunyt nő turistaként érkezett Albániába, halálát tragikus baleset okozta. A család úgy döntött, hogy a holttestet hazaszállítják Ukrajnába.”

Olaszország újraindítja a partjaira érkező illegális bevándorlók Albániába szállítását, ahol táborokban helyezi el őket kiutasításukig. A migránsok áthelyezése a haditengerészet hajójával történik.
A Cassiopea nevű hadihajón már tizenegy migráns tartózkodik, Egyiptomból és Bangladesből érkezett férfiak.
Észak-Afrikából keltek át a tengeren, és az olaszországi partok közelében a parti őrség sietett a segítségükre, de nem automatikusan Lampedusa szigetére vitték őket, hanem a Cassiopea cirkáló fedélzetén helyezték el a férfiakat. A hadihajó szombat óta nemzetközi vizeken várakozik, és csak akkor indul el, amikor a migránsok száma eléri a több tucatnyit. Azt követően az albániai tengerparton található Shengjinbe szállítja a bevándorlókat, ahol az Olaszország működtette migránstáborokba kerülnek.
Ez a harmadik alkalom, hogy Róma újraindítja az albániai központokat: októberben avatta fel őket, de az ugyanabban a hónapban, majd novemberben Shengjinbe szállított, összesen húsz migráns csak néhány napig maradt a táborban. Akkor is egyiptomiakról és bangladesiekről volt szó, akiknek esetében az illetékes római bíróságok jogtalannak tartották a feltartóztatást és kiutasítást. A bíróságok arra hivatkoztak, hogy egyik származási ország sem számít biztonságosnak.
November óta az albániai táborok üresen álltak. Az újrainduláshoz az olasz semmítőszék karácsony előtti határozata vezetett, amely szerint nem a bíróságok, hanem a külügyi tárca hatáskörébe tartozik a származási államok biztonságosságának megítélése. A római kormány októberben közölte a biztonságos országok listáját, amelyek állampolgárait vissza lehet toloncolni, és Egyiptom és Banglades is köztük szerepel.
A kormány január 11-én törvény erejű rendelettel módosította a migránsok hatósági feltartóztatására vonatkozó jogi eljárást is, a fellebbviteli bíróságokhoz utalva az ügyeket. Utóbbi ugyanis ritkábban bírálja felül a hatósági döntéseket.
A kérdésben az utolsó szót az Európai Unió Bírósága mondja ki februárban, de Róma biztosra veszi, hogy kedvező lesz számára az ítélet.
Az eredeti elképzelés szerint az albániai táborokba azok a migránsok kerülnek, akiknek az olasz parti őrség vagy pénzügyőrség siet a segítségére, és eleget tesznek a következő feltételeknek: felnőtt férfiak, egészségesek, biztonságos országból érkeznek és semmilyen más okból nem számítanak sérülékenynek, valamint nem családjukkal keltek át a tengeren.
Shengjinben azonosításuk történik, majd Gjaderbe szállítják át őket, ahonnan kiutasítják és visszatoloncolják hazájukba az illegális bevándorlókat. Az esetleges menedékkérők is csak akkor kerülhetnek át ismét Olaszországba, ha a hatóságok jogosultnak tartják őket a nemzetközi védelemre.
Tavalyelőtt több mint 157 ezren, tavaly több mint 66 ezren érkeztek az olasz partokra. Az utóbbi napokban a rendkívüli jó idő ismét erősítette a migrációs nyomást: Lampedusán pénteken több mint négyszázhatvanan, szombaton több mint százhúszan kötöttek ki.

Edi Rama miniszterelnök hivatala és a Szocialista Párt székháza előtt összecsapások törtek ki, a tüntetők Molotov-koktélokkal felgyújtottak egy Rama-plakátot. A zavargások a belügyminisztérium és a szintén kormánypárti tiranai polgármester irodája előtti területre is átterjedtek. A tüntetők és a biztonsági erők között további összetűzésekre került sor. A rendőrség közlése szerint tíz rendőr megsérült.
A tüntetők korrupcióval, választási csalással, az igazságszolgáltatás befolyásolásával és az ellenzék elhallgattatására tett kísérlettel vádolták a miniszterelnököt és a kormányzó Szocialista Pártot.
Házi őrizetben az ellenzéki vezető
A tüntetők az ellenzéki vezető és volt kormányfő, Sali Berisha házi őrizetbe vétele ellen is tiltakoztak, akit korrupcióval vádoltak meg miniszterelnöki tevékenysége idején. Berisha pártja a Demokrata Párt a múlt héten a parlament előtt tiltakozott, miután egy tagját rágalmazásért elítélték és bebörtönözték. Ervin Salianji fellebbezett az ítélet ellen az ország legfelsőbb bíróságához, és a jelenlegi kormánnyal szemben álló Demokrata Párt is követeli Berisha házi őrizetből való szabadon bocsátását.

Az erdőtüzek már hetek óta tombolnak a Balkánon és Dél-Európa más területein.
Erdőtüzek pusztítanak Albániában és Horvátországban a szárazság és hőség következtében. Albániában több mint 300 tűzoltó harcol a lángokkal az ország középső részén, a főváros Tiranához közeli falvakban.
A tűzoltók munkáját katonák segítik, az oltáshoz helikoptereket is bevetettek. A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint több száz hektár erdő borult már lángba, a rendőrség pedig legalább öt embert letartóztatott tűzgyújtás miatt. A vadászokat óvatosságra intik.
Horvátországban is elkeseredett küzdelmet vívnak a tűzoltók a lángokkal, amelyek országszerte már több mint 1200 hektárnyi területet, fenyőerdőket és növényzetet égettek fel. A tűzoltók fókuszában a Makarskához és Trogirhoz közeli területek állnak. Az erdőtüzek miatt sokan otthonuk elhagyására kényszerültek.
Az erdőtüzek a Balkánon és Dél-Európa más területein már hetek óta tombolnak.

Albánia útvonalat jelent néhány, az EU felé tartó migráns számára, amely együttműködik az országgal, hogy lezárja a blokkba vezető utat.
Nyolc ember, köztük hét migránsnak vélt személy meghalt, miután az autó, amelyben utaztak, lesodródott egy hegyi útról a Vjosa folyóba Délkelet-Albániában.
A hatóságok szerint a sofőr nem állt meg az ellenőrző pontnál, és elhajtott. Ardian Cipa regionális rendőrfőkapitány szerint a rendőrök követték az autót, és később látták, hogy az a fővárostól, Tiranától mintegy 240 kilométerre délkeletre a folyóba csapódott.
Feltételezések szerint a sofőr helyi idő szerint hajnali 4 órakor elvesztette uralmát az autó felett, és a folyóba fordult.
„A gyanú szerint a sofőr Shkodrából származik, a többiek pedig migránsok, akik gyakran áthaladnak ezen az úton” – mondta Cipa.
A rendőrség közleménye szerint az áldozatok közül hétről azt gyanítják, hogy „harmadik országból származnak”, ezt a leírást gyakran a migránsokra utalják.
Albánia önmagában nem a migránsok elsődleges útvonala, de az arab országokból vagy Ázsiából érkezett kis csoportok használják azt, hogy tengeri úton érjék el Olaszországot vagy más szomszédos országokat szárazföldön. Az Európai Tanács szerint a régió tranzit csomópont és kulcsfontosságú folyosó az EU-ba tartó migránsok számára, különösen a Közel-Keletről, Ázsiából és Afrikából.
2019-ben Albánia lett az első olyan EU-n kívüli ország, amely a határokon átnyúló bûnözés ellen felveszi a harcot a határokon átnyúló bûnözés ellen, a határokon átnyúló ügynökség, a Frontex tisztjeivel.
Februárban az albán parlament jóváhagyta azt a megállapodást, amely szerint az ország több ezer menedékkérőt tart fogva Olaszországba.

Az albán védelmi minisztérium korábbi közlése szerint augusztus első két hetében 95 erdőtüzet jelentettek az országban. A tüzek jelentős részét az okozza, hogy gazdálkodók az őszi vetés előtt felgyújtják a parlagot, és a lángok tovaterjednek.
A rendőrség bejelentése szerint Qeparónál őrizetbe vettek két gazdát, mert kiterjedt tüzet okoztak, amelyek lakott területeket is elértek. Két másik embert Elbasan városban tartóztattak le hasonló vádakkal.
A rendőrség figyelmeztette a lakosságot, hogy semmilyen körülmények között ne gyújtsanak tüzet, mert az bűncselekménynek számít. A hadsereg közölte, hogy 40 katonát és helikoptereket küldött a tűzoltók segítésére. Az albán hatóságok közlése szerint júliusban 14 ember ellen emeltek vádat tűzokozás miatt.

A harmincöt éves albán színész, Florind Belliu a huszonnyolc éves feleségével, Ornela Shehivel közösen követett el öngyilkosságot: egymásba karolva ugrottak ki a hatodik emeletről.
A két színészt a New York-i Bronxban található Cruger Avenue udvarán találták meg. A mentőszolgálat emberei tíz perc alatt kiértek a helyszínre, de már nem tudták megmenteni az életüket. A rendőrség nyomozást indított az ügyben: elsősorban azt szeretnék kideríteni, hogy a házban vannak-e dulakodásra utaló jelek – írja a New York Post.
A család és a barátok segítettek azonosítani a holttesteket. A párnak két gyermeke is volt, a kisebbik kettő-, a nagyobbik pedig hatéves. Helyszíni információk szerint az esés után az anyjukért kiabáltak. Florind Belliuról úgy nyilatkoztak az ismerősei, mint egy magának való, gyakran dühös emberről, aki mentális problémákkal küszködött. A rendőrség nem talált búcsúlevelet a lakásban.
Voltak olyan jelek a lakásban, amik arra utalnak, hogy nem volt minden rendben, mintha nem csak úgy eldöntötték volna, hogy otthagyják a gyerekeiket, és leugranak – számolt be a rendőrség szóvivője.
A hatóságok a boncolás eredményére várnak, hogy meg tudják állapítani, Ornela Shehi elszenvedett-e olyan sérülést vagy behatást, ami nem csak az esés miatt történhetett.

A helyi rendőrség beszámolója szerint négy orosz turistát találtak holtan egy népszerű strandüdülőnél Albánia nyugati részén.
Az eset még Qerret faluban történt, a rendőrség közleménye szerint mind a négy turistát megfojtva találták az egyik szálloda szaunájában.
A rendőrség nem adott ki részletes információt az esetről arra hivatkozva, hogy zajlik még a nyomozás az ügyben, azt viszont elmondták, hogy a szálloda összes dolgozóját kihallgatták.
A 31 és 60 év közötti turisták egyébként egy nagyobb orosz turistacsoport tagjai voltak, amely egy egész hetet tervezett maradni a Tiranától 50 kilométerre található üdülőtelepülésen.
A nyomozók egyelőre úgy gondolják, az elhunytak egymással rokonságban állhattak, a vezetéknevük azonossága, illetve hasonlósága miatt – írja az AP.
Albániának ez azért is jött rosszul, mert meglehetősen komoly iparággá vált a turizmus a nyugat-balkáni országban.
