Az orosz állami nukleáris minisztérium, a Roszatom szerint az Atomflot által üzemeltetett Sevmorput egy atommeghajtású jégtörő és teherhajó, az egyetlen ilyen hajó az orosz flottában.
 
Tűz ütött ki egy orosz atommeghajtású jégtörőn az észak-oroszországi Murmanszk kikötőjében, de a tűzoltók gyorsan eloltották – közölte december 25-én az orosz veszélyhelyzeti minisztérium regionális részlege.

A tűz a Sevmorput nevű hajó egyik kabinjában történt, miközben a kikötőben kötött ki. A minisztérium eredeti jelentése szerint a tűz körülbelül 30 négyzetméterre terjedt át, de a tűzoltóknak sikerült megfékezniük, mielőtt továbbterjedt volna. A kevesebb mint egy órával később kiadott frissítés szerint a tüzet eloltották, és személyi sérülés nem történt.

„Semmi veszély nem fenyegette a létfontosságú támogató rendszereket vagy a reaktorlétesítményt” – mondta az orosz állami irányítású RIA Novosztyi hírügynökségnek az Atomflot orosz állami tulajdonú vállalat.
 
Az orosz állami nukleáris minisztérium, a Roszatom szerint az Atomflot által üzemeltetett Sevmorput egy atommeghajtású jégtörő és teherhajó, az egyetlen ilyen hajó az orosz flottában. Eredetileg 1988-ban építették, de azóta korszerűsítették.
 
Nem ez volt az első eset, hogy problémák merültek fel a Sevmorputtal kapcsolatban. A helyi norvég sajtó, a The Barents Observer 2021-ben arról számolt be, hogy a hajó 2020-ban egy hónapig leállt Angola fővárosa, Luanda kikötője közelében, mert megsérült a légcsavar.
