Ramzan Kadirov csecsen elnök a Telegram üzenetküldő alkalmazásban közölte, hogy személyesen ellenőrzi a helyzetet. Hangsúlyozta, hogy a felelősöket bíróság elé állítják, de további részleteket nem közölt.
A Csecsen Köztársaság Nyomozó Bizottsága bejelentette, hogy bűnvádi eljárást indít a négy ember halála miatt.
A szomszédos Dagesztánban 2024 szeptemberében és 2023 augusztusában történt benzinkút-robbanásokban 13, illetve 35 ember halt meg.

Álarcos fegyveresek megtámadták és súlyosan bántalmazták kedd reggel Csecsenföldön az Oroszországban tavaly óta már működni nem tudó, Novaja Gazeta című független lap egyik ismert újságírónőjét, Jelena Milasinát. Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök szóvivője jelezte: az államfőt is tájékoztatták a támadásról, amelyet nagyon súlyosnak tekintenek.
Jogvédő szervezetek és Milasina munkatársainak beszámolója szerint az újságírónő Alekszandr Nyemov ügyvéddel együtt utazott egy autóban a csecsen főváros, Groznij felé egy bírósági meghallgatásra tartva, amikor járművüket megállították és rájuk támadtak. Mindkettejüket egy szomszédos régió kórházába szállították őket.
Jelena Milasina elmesélte, hogy a támadók fegyvert szegeztek a fejükhöz, megrugdosták és halállal fenyegették meg őket. Miközben verték őket, a támadók azt kiabálták: „Figyelmeztettünk titeket, tűnjetek el innen, és ne írjatok semmiről!” – közölte az Oroszországban betiltott Memorial jogvédő csoport a Telegramon. Hozzátették: a támadók leborotválták az újságírónő haját, zöld festékkel kenték be a fejét, és több ujját is eltörték.
A Kínzás Elleni Csoport nevű jogvédő szervezet azt közölte, hogy az újságíróval utazó Alekszandr Nyemovot megszúrták a lábán.
Milasina évekig vizsgálódott csecsenföldi jogsértések ügyében, most azért utazott Groznijba, hogy tudósítson egy csalással és rendőrök bántalmazásával megvádolt nő bírósági tárgyalásáról.
Az ügyben a bíróság kedden bűnösnek találta a vádlottat, és öt és fél év büntetőtáborban letöltendő szabadságvesztésre ítélte.
A Kreml szóvivője, Dmitrij Peszkov kedden jelezte: tájékoztatják Vlagyimir Putyin elnököt Milasináék megveréséről. Közlése szerint ez „súlyos támadás volt, amelyre határozott választ kell adni”.

A csecsenföldi Groznijban az orosz rendfenntartó szervek két tagja meghalt egy lövöldözésben hétfőn, egy fegyveres banditát pedig agyonlőttek – jelentette a TASZSZ orosz hírügynökség belügyi forrásra hivatkozva.
Egy másik forrás szerint a csecsenföldi főváros Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnökről elnevezett sugárútján egy fegyveres férfi rálőtt a rendfenntartókra, akik viszonozták a tüzet, és végeztek a merénylővel.
Később egy másik belügyi forrás azt közölte a hírügynökséggel, hogy egy másik támadó megsebesült a lövöldözésben. A jelentésből nem derült ki, hogy összesen hány fegyveres vett részt a támadásban.
A rendőrség lezárta a támadás helyszínét, folyik a vizsgálat a történtek körülményeinek kiderítésére.
