 A tűzben 16-an részben súlyos sérüléseket szenvedtek, őket kórházba kellett szállítani. Egyelőre még nem tudni, mi okozta a tűzvészt a kábítószerfüggőket kezelő egészségügyi intézményben. Az ISNA a klinika vezetésének lehetséges mulasztásáról számolt be, és arról, hogy az igazgatót őrizetbe vették.
 Az ISNA által közzétett felvételeken egy teljesen kiégett épület és egy emeletes ágyakkal teli szoba látható. Egy korábbi videofelvétel pedig a lángokban álló épületet mutatta.
 Az Etemad című helyi újság egy volt pácienssel készített interjújában arról ír, hogy az áldozatok magas száma azzal magyarázható, hogy éjszakára rendszerint bezárják a klinika bejáratait.
 Nem tudni azt sem, hogy a tűz kitörésekor miért nem nyitották ki az ajtókat. Az Etemad szerint a lángokat csak négy órával a tűz kitörését követően sikerült eloltani.
