A Derniere Renovation csoport tüntetői festékkel töltött lufikkal dobálták meg az üvegpiramist.
Az aktivisták megjelenése és az üvegpiramis megrongálása után a helyszíni biztonsági személyzet azonnal intézkedésbe kezdett, melynek következtében 12 aktivistát őrizetbe vettek.
Az interneten terjedő felvételek tanúsága szerint volt, aki majdnem az üvegpiramis tetejéig felmászott, hogy onnan festékkel öntse le a piramist, míg a többiek lentről dobálták rá a festékkel töltött lufikat.
A csoportnak nem ez volt az első hasonló akciója, ugyanis egy tagjuk 2022 júniusában a Roland Garros egyik mérkőzésén a hálóhoz kötözte magát, de okoztak már fennakadásokat a Tour de France egyik szakaszán és a párizsi Levallois gyaloghídon is.
A csoport hitvallása, hogy most az egyszerű állampolgárokon múlik, hogy eredményeket érjenek el olyan területeken, ahol a politikusok csak ígérgetésig jutottak. Az aktivisták legutóbbi kérése az épületek hőszigetelésének támogatása és elkezdése volt, amit idén bocsátott vitára a kormány, és ami a tervek szerint 2024-ben akár teljesülhet is.

A New York Post beszámolója alapján két embert letartóztattak, akiket azzal vádolnak, hogy egy kotrógéppel és más nehézgépekkel lyukat ütöttek a kínai nagy falon, ezzel „visszafordíthatatlan” károkat okozva.
Állítólag azért tették ezt, hogy könnyebben tudjanak közlekedni a környéken, mialatt dolgoznak. Az eset a múlt hónap végén történt, ráadásul épp egy olyan szakaszt rongáltak meg, amely 1368 és 1644 között épült a Ming-dinasztia idején.
A China Daily viszont arról írt, hogy az építőmunkások egy rést bővítettek ki a falon, hogy könnyebben át tudjanak majd jutni a túloldalra, némi időt spórolva munka közben. Bárhogy is volt, a tényen nem változtat: egy lyuk tátong a kínai nagy falon.
A sanhszi tartományi kulturális örökségvédelmi hivatal hétfőn közzétett tájékoztatójában az áll, egy férfit és egy nőt gyanúsítanak a rongálással, s a nyomozás során a 38 éves Csenget, illetve az 55 éves Vangot tartóztatták le.
A hivatal megerősítette, hogy az elkövetők „visszafordíthatatlan” károkat okoztak a kínai nagy falban, amelyet az UNESCO 1987-ben vett fel a világörökség helyszínei közé. Az építményt a világ hetedik csodájaként is emlegetik.

Az olasz kulturális miniszter videót is megosztott az esetről közösségi oldalán. Mint írta, a férfit keresik a hatóságok, és komoly büntetésre számíthat. Vandalizmus miatt keresnek egy turistát Rómában, miután a fiatal férfi kulcsokkal véste bele barátnője és saját nevét a közel kétezer éves római Colosseum falába pénteken. Az ANSA olasz hírügynökség szerint a felirat a következő volt: „Ivan+Haley 23.”
Az esetről videó is készült, amelyet az olasz kulturális miniszter, Gennaro Sangiulian is megosztott Twitter-oldalán.
„Rendkívül súlyosnak, méltatlannak és udvariatlannak tartom, hogy egy turista megrongálja a világ egyik leghíresebb épületét, egy olyan történelmi örökséget, mint a Colosseum, hogy belevésse menyasszonya nevét” – írta a videóhoz Sangiulian hozzátéve,
Bárki is követte ezt el, remélem, a hatóságok azonosítják a tettest, akit törvényeink szerint szankcionálnak majd – fűzte hozzá a miniszter, aki a videó mellett egy kikockázott képet is megosztott az elkövetőről.

A CNN kiemeli, hogy ha a férfit elítélik, legalább 15 ezer eurós (több mint 5 millió forintos) pénzbírságra vagy akár öt év börtönbüntetésre is számíthat.
Nem ez az első eset, hogy kárt tesznek a híres épületben. 2020-ban egy ír turistát vádoltak meg a Colosseum rongálásával, miután a biztonsági személyzet észrevette, hogy állítólag a monogramját véste az ókori építménybe. A férfit feljelentették a rendőrségen.
