Guatemalában három ember meghalt, négy eltűnt egy, az Eta névre keresztelt hurrikán okozta földcsuszamlásban. A tragédia Agua Caliente településen történt, ahol a heves esőzések következtében felázott a talaj, és betonfal zuhant egy lakóházra. A helyszínen a katasztrófavédelem emberei túlélők után kutatnak. A beszámolók szerint sikerült három embert élve kimenteni a romok alól.



Az Eta hurrikán pusztítása nyomán szerte az országban 150 ember meghalt vagy eltűnt.



A trópusi ciklon az észak-guatemalai Alta Verapaz megyében fákat csavart ki, folyók áradásához vezetett, és sárlavinát váltott ki a Quejá fölötti hegyoldalon; utóbbi helyen mintegy száz ember meghalt a keletkezett földcsuszamlásokban. Alejandro Giammattei guatemalai államfő szombaton azt mondta, hogy a kormány szorosan figyeli a térséget elérő következő, Iota névre keresztelt hurrikán útvonalát, amely a karibi térséget átszelve közeledik.



A trópusi ciklon közeledtének hírére a szomszédos Hondurasban vizet engednek le az El Cajón vízi erőmű tározójából. A szabályozott körülmények között folytatott műveletben az elkövetkező két napban mintegy 300-500 köbméter vizet engednek le percenként – számolt be a létesítményt üzemeltető ENEF áramszolgálató. Ezt azért rendelték el, mert már 286 métert ért el a víz szintje a tározóban, egy méterrel a maximális kapacitás fölött.



A vízerőmű védi a Sula-völgyet, ahol egyébként az Eta hurrikán tombolásában 63-an meghaltak.



A hatóságok elővigyázatosságból a térségben kötelező evakuálást rendeltek el a közelgő Iota ciklon miatt, amely várhatóan hétfőn éri el a közép-amerikai országot.

A kisrepülőgép az Eta nevű hurrikán áldozatainak szállított élelmiszert az északi Alta Verapaz megyébe.



A gép a guatemalavárosi La Aurora nemzetközi repülőtérről indult, és röviddel a felszállást követően csapódott a földbe. A pilóta és egy utas életét vesztette, egy harmadik személyt súlyos sérülésekkel – kritikus állapotban – az egyik fővárosi kórházba szállították. A baleset oka egyelőre ismeretlen.



A vihar – óránként 235 kilométeres sebességű széllökésekkel – múlt kedden csapott le Közép-Amerikára, elsőként Nicaraguára, s súlyos károkat okozott a térség országaiban, emberek ezreit sújtotta, házakat, utakat rombolt le, terméseket tett tönkre, pusztítása nyomán többen eltűntek. Guatemalában legalább 27-en vesztették életüket és több mint százan tűntek el az ítéletidő következtében. Egy sárlavina 150 házat temetett be csütörtökön egy településen, ami vélhetően legkevesebb száz ember halálát okozta.

Az Eta nevű trópusi vihar, amely eddig Közép-Amerikában pusztított, az egyesült államokbeli Florida partjaihoz közelít – jelentette a miami székhelyű Amerikai Országos Hurrikánközpont (NHC) vasárnap este.







A trópusi vihar óránként 100-110 kilométeres erősségű széllökésekkel közelít Florida felé. Az állam déli részén – Fort Lauderdale-től és Miamitól délre – viharriadót rendeltek el.



Florida tengerbe nyúló legdélibb részét, Key Westet és környékét lezárták, az ott élőket a hatóságok vasárnap felszólították, hogy hagyják el otthonaikat, és utazzanak a szárazföld belseje felé, biztonságos helyre. Miamiban és környékén már vasárnap este részlegesen megszűnt az áramszolgáltatás, mintegy 110 ezren maradtak áram nélkül.



Ron DeSantis, Florida kormányzója az állam déli megyéiben rendkívüli állapotot hirdetett. Hétfőtől ezeken a vidékeken zárva tartanak az iskolák és a koronavírus-tesztelő helyiségek. A helyi kormányzat menedékhelyeket nyitott meg. Homokzsákokat osztanak, és a Nemzeti Gárda is készen áll élelmiszercsomagok és palackozott víz kiszállítására.



A vihar korábban Kubán, Nicaraguán és Hondurason söpört végig, és az özönvízszerű esőzés érintette Costa Ricát, Panamát és Salvadort is. Hondurasban a vihar és a nyomában bekövetkezett áradások 23 halálos áldozatot követeltek. Guatemalában legalább 150 halálos áldozatot és eltűntet vettek számba.

Az Eta nevű hurrikán – amely jelenleg Kuba, a Kajmán-szigetek és Florida felé tart – házakat, utakat rombolt le Közép-Amerikában. Több ember eltűnt, és halálos áldozatok is vannak.







Mexikóban 22-en meghaltak, további öt ember pedig eltűnt az Eta nevű hurrikán pusztítása után Chiapas és Tabasco államokban. Összesen 4280 lakás ment tönkre, a földcsuszamlások több tucat utat zártak el, 10 folyó és patak öntött ki medréből. 



A hurrikán keltette áradások és földcsuszamlások 12 közösséget vágtak el a külvilágtól.



A mexikói elnök, Andrés Manuel López Obrador eközben szülőföldjére, Tabasco államba sietett, ahol a helyi polgári védelem szerint újabb két ember halt meg, mintegy 90 ezer embert ért kár, nyolcezren elmenekültek, és legalább 12 településben keletkeztek károk.

Guatemalában az Eta hurrikán által okozott földcsuszamlás helyszínén, Queja faluban a hatóságok közlése szerint a sárlavina feltehetően 150 embert temetett maga alá.



A mentés a tragédia után csak egy nappal kezdődhetett el. A falu 22 kilométerre van a legközelebbi várostól, San Cristobal Verapraztól, de az odavezető út gépjárművel járhatatlanná vált, és a mentőcsapatok csak egynapos gyaloglással tudtak eljutni a katasztrófa helyszínére.



A híradások szerint akár hónapok is eltelhetnek, míg kiássák a sárlavinában rekedtek holttesteit.

A falu, Queja a közép-amerikai ország, Guatemala középső részén fekszik. A hurrikán kedden csapott le Guatemalára és a felhőszakadás szerdán okozta a földcsuszamlást.



Egy helyi nő 22 rokonát veszíthette el, nem sok remény van túlélőkre.
A mentés a tragédia után csak egy nappal kezdődhetett el. A falu 22 kilométerre van a legközelebbi várostól, San Cristobal Verapraztól, de az odavezető út gépjárművel járhatatlanná vált, és a mentőcsapatok csak egynapos gyaloglással tudtak eljutni a katasztrófa helyszínére.







Közel százan dolgoznak a mentésen: 55 katona, 25 tűzoltó és 15 rendőr. A hőmérséklet fagypont körüli, ami igencsak megnehezíti az ásást. A mentők a sárréteg vastagságát még megbecsülni sem tudják, és megfeszített munkájuk ellenére szombatig csak három holttestet tudtak felszínre hozni.

Guatemalában legalább százan, Hondurasban legkevesebb húszan haltak meg az Eta hurrikán miatt – közöték pénteken a helyi hatóságok.



A vihar – óránként 235 kilométeres sebességű széllökésekkel – kedden csapott le Közép-Amerikára, elsőként Nicaraguára. Immár legyengülve a Karib-tengeren halad tovább Kuba felé, de szakértők szerint újból erőre kaphat.



A hurrikán pusztítását 360 ezer ember szenvedte meg a térségben. Az áldozatok többsége földcsuszamlásokban halt meg, amelyeket a hurrikánnal járó felhőszakadások okoztak, de sok embert áradás sodort el.



Guatemalában egy sárlavina 150 házat temetett be csütörtökön egy településen, ami vélhetően legkevesebb száz ember halálát okozta, de a mentők péntekig csak három holttestet tudtak kiemelni a romok alól.



Mexikó déli részén 19-en vesztették életüket ugyancsak árvíz és földcsuszamlás miatt, Panamában pedig további öten haltak meg.
