Hatósági jelentések szerint hatos magnitúdójú földrengés rázta meg csütörtökön Kína északnyugati részét, a Hszincsiang–Ujgur Autonóm Területet. A rengést Kazahsztánban is érezni lehetett, Almati lakossága körében pedig pánikot váltott ki – számolt be az MTI.
A kínai földrengés-megfigyelő központ 6-os erősségű földrengésről számolt be, amely az ország északnyugati részén, Kirgizisztánnal határos területen található Akcsi megyében keletkezett, helyi idő szerint délután 3 óra 44 perckor. fészke 10 kilométeres mélységben volt – derült ki a tájékoztatásból. A hatóságok egyelőre nem kaptak jelentést áldozatokról vagy összeomlott épületekről. A megye közlekedése, áramellátása és távközlése normálisan működik – közölte az állami média.
A földrengés ugyanakkor pánikot keltett a szomszédos Kazahsztán fővárosában, Almatiban. Számos középiskolát, irodát és bevásárlóközpontot kiürítettek, az emberek tömegesen hagyták el otthonaikat és menekültek az utcákra. Az Orda című lap szerint a Turan Egyetemen a földrengés miatt elhalasztották az órákat és a vizsgákat.

A kihalás fenyegette kaszpi fóka fajából 112 egyed tetemét mosta partra a víz Kazahsztán délnyugati részén, a Kaszpi-tenger partján fekvő Mangistau régióban – írja a Kazinform helyi hírügynökség. A partvidéki Bautin város egyik lakója hétfőn hat elhullott fóka tetemét fedezte fel a parton, közülük kettőnek halászháló tekeredett a nyakába.
Az esetet azonnal jelentették a helyi hatóságoknak. A bejelentést követően még aznap tengervízmintákat vettek Mangisztau tartomány Tupkaragan járásának part menti területein.

Őrizetbe vettek a lengyel rendőrök egy ukrán nőt, akit 12 év börtönre ítéltek Kazahsztánban, amiért egy szervkereskedelemmel foglalkozó bűnszervezet tagjaként 56 vesét adott el – írta meg a Reuters a rendőrség közleménye alapján.
A 35 éves nőt a lengyel–ukrán határon, egy vasúti átkelőhelyen vették őrizetbe egy Interpol-körözés alapján, azt azonban nem árulta el az ügyészség, hogy a nő miért nem a kazahsztáni börtönben volt.
A hatóságok szerint az Interpol nemzetközi rendőrségi szervezet 2020 novembere óta körözte a nőt, aki egy nemzetközi bűnszervezet tagjaként 2017 és 2019 között illegálisan szerveket és szöveteket gyűjtött emberektől, majd eladta azokat a feketepiacon.
Emellett elítélték azért is, mert abból élt, hogy megszerezte 56 ember veséjét Kazahsztánban, Örményországban, Azerbajdzsánban, Ukrajnában, Kirgizisztánban, Tádzsikisztánban, Üzbegisztánban és Thaiföldön. Az ügyészség egyhetes ideiglenes letartóztatást kért a bíróságtól, hogy a nőt kiadhassák Kazahsztánnak.

A kiadvány azt írja, hogy a bűnügyi és javítóintézeti osztály munkatársai drogtesztet rendeztek, s emiatt több embert magánzárkába helyeztek.

Életét vesztette Kazahsztánban egy francia állampolgár, aki gyalog akart eljutni a bajkonuri űrközpontba – jelentette kedden az űrkikötő közlésére hivatkozva az orosz RIA hírügynökség.
A férfi, aki egy másik franciával indult útnak, a jelentés szerint hétfőn hunyt el, halálát dehidratáltság (kiszáradás) okozta.
„Két francia állampolgár megkísérelt bejutni az űrrepülőtér területére. Elhagyták az autópályát, és néhány magas épület felé indultak a sztyeppén” – idézte a jelentés az űrkikötő közlését.
Az 1950-es években épült bajkonuri űrközpont területét Oroszország Kazahsztántól bérli. Az űrkikötő egy távoli, sivatagos területen fekszik, és megközelítése korlátozott, de azok számára, akik tanúi akarnak lenni egy űrhajó indításának, fizetős túrákat kínálnak.

Kazahsztánban már több mint 96 ezer embert, köztük csaknem 32 ezer gyereket kellett kimenekíteni a nagy kiterjedésű áradások által sújtott területekről – közölte Szajpas Eraszil, a kazah polgári és katonai katasztrófavédelmi bizottság vezető tisztségviselője szerdán.
„Az árvízi időszak kezdete óta 96 472 embert mentettek ki, köztük 31 640 gyermeket. Az ideiglenes szállásokon 7605 embert, köztük 3474 gyermeket helyeztek el” – mondta.
Tájékoztatása szerint több mint 167 tonna humanitárius segélyt szállítottak az érintett régiókba. Több mint 8,5 millió köbméter olvadékvizet szivattyúztak ki, 2750 lakóházból és 1816 udvari területről vezették el a vizet.
A márciusban kezdődött áradások miatt Kazahsztán 10 régiójában továbbra is érvényben van a helyi szükségállapoti rendszer. A mentési munkálatokban több mint 24 ezer ember segédkezik, és több mint 2600 műszaki eszközt vetettek be.

„Az árvízi időszak kezdete óta 75 982 embert, köztük 18 681 gyermeket helyeztek biztonságba. Az átmeneti szállásokon 7203 embert, köztük 2794 gyermeket helyeztek el” – tette hozzá. Elmondása szerint hét régióban 3745 magánház és 421 udvari terület van továbbra is elárasztva. Nincs közlekedési összeköttetés 65 településsel.
A márciusban kezdődött, a korai és hirtelen olvadás okozta áradások miatt Kazahsztán tíz régiójában – az ország teljes északnyugati részében – hirdettek helyi szükségállapotot. A mentési munkálatokban több mint 16 ezer ember, 1600 jármű és 15 repülőgép vesz részt.
Kaszim-Zsomart Tokajev kazah elnök az elmúlt 80 év legsúlyosabb árvizének nevezte a mostani áradásokat.

Több száz elpusztult hattyút találtak a közép-ázsiai Kazahsztán egyik természetvédelmi területén. Az állatok valószínűleg madárinfluenzában pusztulhattak el – közölték környezetvédelmi tisztviselők.
„December 21. és január 8. között összesen 675 hattyútetemet fedeztek fel a Karakol-tónál” – közölte a kazah környezetvédelmi minisztérium. Január 10-ei információk szerint ez a szám már a 800-at is meghaladta.
A madarak madárinfluenzában pusztulhattak el, de a szakemberek – a feltételezések megerősítésére –további vizsgálatokat végeznek a helyszínen.
Aktivisták korábban aggodalmukat fejezték ki a nyugat-kazahsztáni környezeti problémák, különösen a levegő- és vízszennyezés miatt.
A madárinfluenza, amely baromfik millióit és vadmadarak ezreit támadta meg ismét globális méreteket öltött – írja a HT.
A járvány világszerte számos madárfajt és újabban emlősfajokat is érint, ami eddig sosem fordult elő – írja a CBS.
