A jelentés szerint Klimenko azt írta: „A Nemzeti Rendőrség KORD különleges egységei megrohamozták azt az üzletet, ahol a támadó tartózkodott. Túszul ejtett embereket, és az őrizetbe vétele során rendőrökre lőtt. Ezt megelőzően a tárgyalók megpróbáltak kapcsolatba lépni vele.”
A belügyminiszter megerősítette, hogy a lövöldözőt az elfogási művelet során likvidálták. A támadó áldozatainak számát jelenleg tisztázzák. Megerősítették, hogy a támadás következtében vannak halottak és sérültek.
