Kisiklott New Yorkban egy metró csütörtökön, miután összeütközött egy másik szerelvénnyel. Több mint 20 ember megsérült.
Délután helyi idő szerint három óra körül az Upper West Side állomáson egymásnak ütközött egy körülbelül 300 utast szállító metró egy forgalomból kivont szerelvénnyel, amelynek fedélzetén négy dolgozó tartózkodott – közölte a rendőrség és a közlekedési hatóságok illetékesei.
A New York-i rendőrség szerint hét utast és a személyzet egy tagját kórházba szállították. Legalább 20 mentőautó volt a helyszínen, valamint rendőrök és tűzoltók is – írja az AP News.
A hatóságok elmondása szerint a metró az egyik vágányváltó szerkezetnél tért le a sínekről.
A tisztviselők szerint semmi jel nem utalt arra, hogy a berendezés előzőleg meghibásodott volna, így a nyomozók azt vizsgálják, hogy emberi mulasztás állhat-e a háttérben.
Az ütközés miatt több vonalon Manhattanben megszűnt a közlekedés – közölte a metró társaság.
A személyzet csütörtök este is a károk elhárításán dolgozott. Reményeik szerint péntek reggelre újraindul a metró közlekedés, bár ez nem garantált – írja az ABC News.
