Tragikus helikopter-baleset történt pénteken Arizona hegyvidékén, Phoenix közelében. A MD 369FF típusú magángépen négyen utaztak, a hatóságok közlése szerint senki sem élte túl a balesetet – írja az ABC News.
A gép a Queen Creek-i Pegasus repülőtérről szállt fel. A szemtanúk szerint a helikopter egy kifeszített kötélnek ütközött a hegyvidékes területen. A lapos hevedert még korábban feszítették ki, amelyen egyensúlyozni lehet. A hatóságok nem közölték, hogy legálisan volt-e kifeszítve a kötél.
A balesetben az 59 éves pilóta és 3 nőrokona vesztette életét.
A nehezen megközelíthető baleseti helyszín miatt a mentőcsapatok órákon át dolgoztak, hogy elérjék a fedélzeten tartózkodókat, de mind a négyen olyan súlyosan megsérültek, hogy már nem tudták megmenteni az életüket.

A Bonneville megyei seriff hivatala közölte, hogy a késő délutáni órákban több mentőegység érkezett a Ririe víztározóhoz, Idaho Falls-tól keletre. Az első egységek hószánokkal közelítették meg a helyszínt, ahol két embert találtak a helikopter roncsai között.

Szerdán súlyos légi baleset történt az amerikai Arizona államban, amikor két kisrepülőgép a levegőben összeütközött a Marana regionális repülőtér közelében, Tucson északnyugati részén – számolt be a hirado.hu.
A Fox News szerint a hatóságok megerősítették, hogy legalább két ember életét vesztette, ám a pontos részletek egyelőre nem ismertek. Az ütközésben egy Cessna 172S és egy Lancair 360 MK II, egymotoros kisrepülők voltak érintettek.
