Az olajtársaságok reklámjainak betiltását követeli a több mint 20 civil szervezet, mert a vállalatok azokat tevékenységük zöldre festésére, annak valódi természetének leplezésére használják – írja az Euronews cikke alapján a Világgazdaság.
A kampányt a szervezetek azzal indították, hogy 80 aktivista az Európai Unió 12 országából lezárta a Shell fő terminálját a rotterdami kikötőben.
A tüntetők azt szeretnék elírni, hogy a dohánytermékekhez hasonlóan az olajtársaságok se hirdethessék magukat. Mint azt a Greenpeace és a DeSmog kutatása – mely több mint 3000 hirdetést vizsgált hat vállalat részéről – kimutatta, a cégek a hirdetéseket saját tevékenységük elfedésére, valamint nem működő megoldások promotálására használják.
Mint írják, hatalmas a különbség a cégek reklámokban megjelenített zöldkezdeményezései és a valóság között, a hirdetések 63 százaléka hirdeti az olajipari óriásokat zöldvállalatként, miközben például a BP beruházásainak 96 százaléka továbbra is az olaj és földgáz irányába mutat.
A világ egyik legnagyobb szennyezőjeként a Shell is hirdetései több mint 80 százalékát zöldre festésre használja, de például a karbonlábnyom is az olajipar reklámkampányaiból nyomaszt minket, miközben a cégek nem változtatnak gyakorlatukon, noha a klímaváltozás tényéről az Exxon már 1982-ben is tudott.
