Az orosz határ közelében fekvő Vovcsanszkot mostanra romvárossá tették a harcok, ezért a lakóinak menekülni kellett. Több ezer embert evakuáltak az ukrán hatóságok, miután az orosz csapatok május közepén benyomultak a térségbe.
Közben az ukrán csapatok nagy erőkkel próbálják feltartóztatni az orosz előrenyomulást, jelentésük szerint Vovcsanszk egy részét még tartják.
Keddi beszámolójuk szerint a város közelében orosz mérnöki eszközöket semmisítettek meg egy dróntámadással, egy nap alatt a teljes front mentén összesen mintegy 1300 ellenséges katonával végeztek.

A miniszter megjegyezte, hogy a két kelet-ukrajnai megye lakói szívesebben költöznek át régiójukon belül biztonságosabb területre, mintsem más ukrajnai megyékbe.
Elmondta, hogy változatlanul zajlik vonatokon is a lakosok kimenekítése a szüntelen orosz támadások alatt álló területekről, így Szumi megyén kívül a Donyeck megyei Pokrovszkból is indulnak vonatok, amelyek a nyugat-ukrajnai Voliny megyéig közlekednek.
Az Ukrinform hírügynökség jelentése szerint Verescsuk közölte, hogy a veszélyes területekről evakuáltak megújíthatják belső menekült státusukat, és ennek megfelelően jogosultak pénzbeli támogatásra az ukrán államtól.

Hozzátette, hogy a Remal várhatóan délután és éjfél között érkezik Banglades fölé.A hatóságok azt közölték: fel vannak készülve arra, hogy akár kétmillió embert is kitelepítsenek az érintett térségekből. A tűzoltósághoz és a polgári védelemhez lakóépületekben keletkezett károkról érkeztek bejelentések. Kedden több iskola is zárva tartott. Hétfőn este nyolc óra után tíz perccel 4,4-es erősségű földrengés rázta meg a dél-olaszországi Nápoly térségét az olasz geofizikai és vulkanológiai intézet (INGV) szerint.
A földrengés fészke az amerikai földtani intézet (USGS) szerint a Campi Flegrei (Lángoló mezők) néven ismert vulkáni terület térségében volt, 10 kilométeres mélységben.
Az INVG több utórengést is észlelt, amelyek közül a legerősebb – 21 óra 45 perckor – 3,9-es volt.
Sokan megijedtek és az utcákra szaladtak, a Pozzuoli és Bacoli városok közötti térségben számosan a szabad ég alatt, autóikban, vagy a polgári védelem által biztosított sátrakban, illetve egyéb szálláshelyeken, így például tornacsarnokokban töltötték az éjszakát.
Az olasz sajtó közölte, hogy keddre virradóra forgalmi torlódások alakultak ki, mert az emberek próbálták elhagyni a régiót, reggelre azonban már többen vissza is tértek otthonukba.
Szakértők szerint a mostani földrengéssorozat legyengült, de még nem ért véget.

Abdul Muhari, a katasztrófavédelmi ügynökség munkatársa közölte, hogy egy rendőrökből, katonákból, valamint kutató- és mentőalakulatokból álló csapatot küldtek a területre, hogy evakuálják a környező falvak lakóit.
A hatóságok az időseknek nyújtottak segítséget, míg más lakosokat éjszakára vészsátrakban szállásoltak el. Az ügynökség nem adott tájékoztatást arról, hogy hány embert költöztettek el, de a hatóságok azt javasolták, hogy egy hét kilométeres körzetet tisztítsanak meg.

A Kanada legnyugatibb tartományában pénteken kitört erdőtűz kiterjedése szombatra csaknem a duplájára nőtt, és felperzselt több mint négyezer hektárnyi területet, két kilométerre megközelítve Fort Nelson város határát. Ez látható az erdőtüzekről tájékoztató Wildfire Service térképein.
A területen nem lehet élelmiszert vásárolni, és a sürgősségi szolgálatok sem működnek – figyelmeztette a hátramaradt lakosságot közös közleményben a tartomány illetékes önkormányzata és a város közelében lévő First Nation nevű őslakos közösség.
Rob Fraser polgármester elmondása szerint 3500 embert a rendőrség segítségével már kitelepítettek Fort Nelsonból és környékéről. A város környékén jelenleg három jelentős nagyságú erdőtűz is tombol – tette hozzá.
Szombaton a szomszédos Alberta államban is riasztást adtak ki erdőtüzek miatt. A hatóságok Edmond városban nagyon magas kockázatú levegőszennyezésre figyelmeztettek. Szintén riasztást adtak ki egy Fort McMurry-től 25 kilométerre kialakult erdőtűz miatt, amely az autópályán ronthatja a látási viszonyokat, de evakuálási utasítást még nem adtak ki.
Kanadában 2023-ban rekordszámú erdőtűz alakult ki, amely több tízezer Brit Columbia tartománybeli lakos kitelepítését kényszerítette ki. Az erdőtüzek füstje az Egyesült Államok közeli területeire is átterjedt.
