Üzemzavar volt vasárnap Iránban az ország középső részén, Natanz városánál működő atomipari létesítménynél–jelentette az iráni állami tévé. Behruz Kamalvandi, az iráni atomenergiai hivatal szóvivője közölte, hogy az urándúsítót árammal ellátó hálózat hibásodott meg, de sem sérülés, sem szennyezés nem történt.
Éppen előző este helyezték üzembe Natanzban az új, nagyobb teljesítményű urándúsító centrifugákat; ez alkalomból Haszan Róháni iráni elnök is beszédet mondott Teheránból. A centrifugák működtetése sérti az iráni atomprogramról 2015-ben aláírt nemzetközi megállapodást. Tavaly júliusban rejtélyes eredetű robbanás rázta meg a natanzi üzemet, amiről az iráni hatóságok később azt közölték, szabotázs történt. Megfigyelők szerint Izrael hajthatott végre támadást az urándúsító üzem ellen.

Kazi Zada 50 millió dollárra becsülte a keletkezett kárt.
Herát tartomány kormányzóságának szóvivője arról számolt be, hogy nem tudni mi okozta a tüzet, amely a vámhivatal egyik irodájában keletkezett. A helyi mentők vezetőjének elmondása szerint 17 embert kellett kórházba vinni, többeket súlyos égési sérülésekkel.

Iráni jelentések szerint egy dél-koreai tankerhajót tartóztatott fel a Forradalmi Gárda a Hormuzi-szorosnál a szennyezési szabályok megsértése miatt – írta meg a HVG az Euronews híre alapján. A portál információi szerint azonban a hajó legénysége határozottan tagadja, hogy a hajóból szennyező anyagok szivároghattak volna a tengerbe.
Az iráni kormányszóvivő azonban mást állít. Ali Rabiei szerint a hajó olajszennyezést okozott a Perzsa-öbölben, emiatt fogták el és figyelmeztették a legénységet. A tartályhajó dél-koreai tulajdonosa szerint azonban Irán bármiféle jogalap nélkül fogta el a tankert. Dél-Koreából a legénység és a hajó kiszabadítására tárgyaló delegáció indult. A hajó legénységében szolgálnak dél-koreai, vietnámi, mianmari és indonéz tagok is a BBC tudósítása szerint.
Az elmúlt hónapokban Dél-Korea és Irán viszonya kiéleződött a Donald Trump által bevezetett, Iránt érintő szankciók miatt. Ezen szankciók értelmében ugyanis a dél-koreai bankok több iráni számlát is befagyasztottak.

Irán újrakezdte a 20 százalékos dúsítású urán előállítását a Fordóban működő, föld alatti nukleáris létesítményében – jelentette be hétfőn az iráni kormányszóvivő a Mehr félhivatalos iráni hírügynökség szerint. Ezzel megint megsértette az atomalkut.
Ali Rabiei közölte, hogy a folyamat a parlament által nemrég elfogadott új jogszabállyal összhangban kezdődött meg. Az új törvény értelmében Irán évente 120 kilogramm 20 százalékos dúsítású uránt állíthat elő, illetve alacsonyabb dúsítási szintű uránból havonta 500 kilogrammot. Ez a szint jóval meghaladja a 2015-ben aláírt többhatalmi nukleáris megállapodásban megengedett 3,67 százalékot. Irán részéről ez egy újabb olyan lépés, amellyel megsérti az atomalkuban vállalt kötelezettségeit válaszul arra, hogy Washington 2018-ban egyoldalúan felmondta a szerződést, és visszaállította a Teheránnal szemben hozott szankciókat.
Irán többször jelezte, hogy gyorsan vissza tudja állítani az atomalkuban foglalt állapotot, amennyiben az amerikai szankciókat feloldják. Irán eddig 4,5 százalékos tisztaságúra dúsított uránt állított elő. A nukleáris fegyverekhez 90 százalékos dúsítású urán szükséges. Az urán 20 százalékosról 90 százalékosra dúsítása azonban már nem számít igazán nagy ugrásnak szakértők szerint.
A Nemzetközi Atomenergia-ügynökség (NAÜ) január 1-jén közölte: Irán jelezte felé, hogy ismét 20 százalékosra dúsított urán előállítására törekszik, de akkor Teherán nem pontosította, hogy ez mikor fog bekövetkezni.
Irán a 2015-ös megállapodás értelmében beleegyezett abba, hogy leállítja az urán dúsítását Fordóban, és a létesítményt nukleáris, fizikai és műszaki központtá alakítja át. A helyszín az iráni nukleáris megállapodáshoz vezető tárgyalások egyik sarkalatos pontja volt. Az Egyesült Államok ragaszkodott a bezárásához, Teherán viszont a megtartásához. Az atomalku összeomlása óta Irán folytatta ott az urándúsítást.

Iránban kivégezték az „erőszak szítása miatt” halálra ítélt Ruhollah Zam ellenzéki újságírót szombaton – közölte a Nour félhivatalos iráni hírügynökség. Az iráni legfelsőbb bíróság kedden hagyta jóvá Zam halálos ítéletét.
Zamot azzal vádolták, hogy írásaival szította az országban 2017-ben, a gazdasági helyzet romlása miatt kirobbant tiltakozásokat. Júniusban ítélte halálra a forradalmi bíróság „földi korrupcióért”, amely kifejezést gyakran használnak az iráni kormányzat elleni kémkedés, illetve a vezetés megdöntésére irányuló próbálkozások leírásra.
Az újságíró emigrációban élt Párizsban, és AmadNews című internetes újság oldalán jelentetett meg iráni vezetők számára kínos videofelvételeket és írásokat. Több mint egymillió követője volt a hírportáljának.
Tavaly ősszel vették őrizetbe, miután visszatért Iránba.

Megerősítette az iráni védelmi minisztérium, hogy Mohseh Farizadehet Teherántól nem messze támadták meg, a BBC információi szerint a kórházban halt meg. A nyugat az iráni atomprogram egyik vezetőjeként tartotta számon a tudóst. Támadói kilétéről egyelőre még nincs hír.
Az iráni sajtó értesüléseire alapozva írta meg több vezető lap, majd később az iráni védelmi minisztérium is megerősítette, hogy pénteken merényletben elhunyt Mohseh Farizadeh, az egyik legnevesebb iráni atomtudós. A BBC információi szerint az iráni védelmi minisztérium azt közölte, hogy Farizadeh-re felfegyverkezett terroristák támadtak Damavand városánál, akik tűzharcba keveredtek a tudós testőreivel. A támadás körülményeiről eltérő információk vannak, több médium arról számolt be, hogy Farizadeh autója előtt felrobbant egy autó, ezt követően kezdtek el rá tüzelni. Farizadeh ekkor sérült meg súlyosan, innen szállították kórházba, ahol az orvosok már nem tudták megmenteni a tudós életét. Iráni hatóságok arról számoltak be, hogy több terroristát is sikerült likvidálniuk, azonban állítólag több civil is életét vesztette.
A BBC diplomatákra hivatkozva egyenesen az „iráni bomba atyjaként” hivatkozik Farizadeh-re, aki egyébként az iráni atomprogram egyik vezetője volt 2018 óta. A tudós jelentőségét jól mutatja, hogy a The New York Times 2015-ben J. Robert Oppenheimer-hez, a Manhattan projekt vezetőjéhez hasonlította.
Irán külügyminisztere, Mohammad Javad Zarif Twitteren kommentálta a Farizadeh-et ért merényletet. Zarif tweet-jében gyávasággal vádolta az izraelieket, egyúttal azt mondta, hogy ez is jól mutatja kétségbeesésüket. „Irán felszólítja a nemzetközi közösséget, különösen az Európai Uniót, hogy vessen véget a szégyenletes kettős mércének Iránnal szemben és ítéljék el ezt a terrorcselekményt” – írta a külügyminiszter.
Az iráni kormány vértanúnak nevezte Farizahed-et a halálhíréről beszámoló tweet-jében.
Ali Khameini ajatollah részvétét fejezte ki a tudós családjának.
Egyelőre a támadást egyetlen terrorszervezet, vagy nagyhatalom sem vállalta magára, Irán azonban Izraelt és az Egyesült Államokat okolja, mondván, hogy ők hajtottak végre ehhez hasonló támadásokat a közelmúltban. 2010 és 2012 között négy iráni atomtudóst öltek meg, Irán pedig Izraelt vádolja a támadások elkövetésével, illetve bűnrészességgel.
Donald Trump 2020 januárjában gyilkoltatta meg Kászim Szulejmánit, aki az iráni hadsereg legnagyobb hatalmú tábornoka volt. Szulejmáni autóját az iraki Bagdad reptere mellett érte dróntámadás, amiben azonnal életét vesztette. Irán Szulejmáni halálára úgy reagált, hogy bejelentette: feladják a még Barack Obama elnöksége idején megkötött atomalkut. Ez annyit takar, minden korábbi megállapodást felrúgva nagyobb mértékben dúsítanak uránt.
A 2015-ös atomalkut a Barack Obama vezette amerikai kormány hozta tető alá Oroszországgal, Kínával, Németországgal, az Egyesült Királysággal, Franciaországgal és az EU-val karöltve. Az atomalku értelmében így a Nemzetközi Atomenergia-ügynökség szakértői így bejuthattak az iráni urándúsítókba.
Donald Trump volt amerikai elnök még 2018-ban jelentette be, hogy az Egyesült Államok kilép az iráni atomalkuból. A 2015-ben aláírt szerződés Trump szerint nem hozott békét és nem is fog. Trump egyúttal „szörnyű, egyoldalú megállapodásnak” nevezte az atomalkut. Nem sokkal Trump közleménye után Benjamin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök közölte: nagyra tartja Trump álláspontját.
Benjamin Netanjahu szóvivője egyelőre nem kommentálta Farizadeh halálát. Netanjahu 2018-ban a tudóssal kapcsolatban csak annyit kért, hogy emlékezzenek a nevére. Netanjahu a BBC szerint akkor azonosította Fakrizadeh-et az iráni atomprogram vezetőjeként.
„A nukleáris tudósítók meggyilkolása a globális hegemónia sérelme, ami akadályozza a tudományokhoz való hozzáférést” – kommentálta a támadást Hossein Salami, az iráni Forradalmi Gárda vezérőrnagya.
Mohseh Farizadeh – egy 2011-es jelentés szerint – 1958-ban született Iránban. Fizikus professzorként a BBC szerint ő vezette az Amad nevű, 1989-es titkos projektet, amit az iráni atombomba fejlesztésére hoztak létre. Ez volt az a program, amit 2003-ban lezártak a nemzetközi atomalku keretein belül.

Egy speciális vizsgálat nemrégiben kimutatta, hogy ez év márciusában ötször több volt Iránban a koronavírus-fertőzés miatt elhunytak száma, mint amennyit a kormány bevallott.
A helyi sajtó közölte, hogy az országban négypercenként veszti életét valaki a Covid–19 miatt. „Az egészségügyi dolgozóink elfáradtak” – közölte a koronavírus elleni harc nemzeti bizottságának iráni elnöke. Ismert az is, hogy az országban már elfogytak a betegek számára a helyek a kórházakban.
A The Guardian szakértőkre hivatkozva azt állítja, hogy az iráni egészségügyi minisztérium által közzétett statisztikák pontatlanok, és az adatok akár kétszer magasabbak lehetnek.
Az iráni egészségügyi szakemberek arra figyelmeztetnek, hogy ha az ország állampolgárai nem fogják betartani a Covid–19 biztonsági szabályaira vonatkozó ajánlásokat, hamarosan naponta 600 áldozata is lehet a kórnak.

Irán annak ellenére végrehajtotta a halálos ítéletet a birkózó ellen, hogy jogvédők mellett egy sportolókat tömörítő nemzetközi szervezet, a Játékosok Világszövetsége (WPA) is ellenezte a sportoló kivégzését. Navid Afkari birkózót azért ítélték halálra, mert a vád szerint 2018-ban egy kormányellenes tüntetésen megölt egy biztonsági őrt. A sportoló a bíróságon állította, hogy kínzással kényszerítették ki belőle beismerő vallomását.
A nemzetközi közvélemény, különösen az érdekvédő és sportszervezetek élénken tiltakoztak a 27 éves kötöttfogású birkózó kivégzése ellen. Öt nappal ezelőtt a WPA figyelmeztette Iránt, hogy kezdeményezni fogja az ország kizárását a világ sportéletéből, ha végrehajtják a halálos ítéletet.
A halálbüntetés ellen küzdő jogvédő aktivisták minden esetben arra hívják fel a figyelmet, hogy a kivégzés végrehajtása után már nem lehet korrigálni, ha a bíróság tévedett, és a nemzetközi kriminalisztika számos esetet tart nyilván, amikor ártatlan embereket végeztek ki úgy, hogy csak később derült ki, hogy az illető nem követett el bűncselekményt, vagy más volt a tettes.
A sportoló ügyvédje szerint nincs bizonyíték védence bűnösségére, az iráni igazságszolgáltatási szervek szerint viszont egyértelmű az ügy.
Afkari esete nagy nemzetközi visszhangot váltott ki, többek között Donald Trump amerikai elnök is az ítélet megváltoztatására szólította fel Iránt, ahogy a brit és a német kormány is.
A Nemzetközi Birkózószövetség és számos elismert birkózó is tiltakozott a kivégzés ellen.
A Nemzetközi Olimpiai Bizottság (IOC) „nagyon szomorú hírnek” nevezte a halálos ítélet végrehajtását, és közleményben tudatta, hogy a szervezet együtt érez a családtagokkal és a barátokkal.

Iránban a koronavírus okozta halálesetek száma csaknem háromszor magasabb, mint azt az ország kormánya állítja. Ezt a következtetést a BBC újságírói vonták le egy vizsgálat eredményei alapján.
A névtelen forrásokból származó, az újságírók által beszerzett dokumentumok azt mutatják, hogy az Covid-19 áldozatok száma az országban csaknem háromszor annyi, mint amennyi az iráni hatóságok által nyilvánosságra hozott hivatalos statisztikai adatokban van. A fertőzöttek száma pedig kétszer meghaladja a hivatalos adatokat. Az adatok szerint Iránban az első halálos kimenetelű koronavírus-fertőzéses esetet ez év január 22-én regisztrálták – csaknem egy hónappal korábban, mint hivatalosan nyilvántartott első megbetegedéses esetet (február 19. – szerk.). Ezenkívül az újságírói vizsgálat eredményei azt mutatják, hogy március közepére ötször annyi ember halt meg az országban a koronavírustól, mint azt az iráni hatóság állítja. Ezt követően a kormány szigorú karantént vezetett be, a halálesetek száma fokozatosan csökkenni kezdett, a hivatalos és a valós statisztikák közötti különbség pedig kisebb lett. Jelenleg a Covid-19 új eseteinek száma folyamatosan növekszik, következésképpen a halálesetek száma is, a hatóságok információja alapján az elmúlt napokban napi több ezer új fertőzéses eset van és több száz halálesetek száma.
A közelmúltban az iráni média arról számolt be, hogy az országban hét percenként halnak meg új típusú koronavírus miatt. A hatóságok szerint azért ilyen magas az arány, mert a lakosság nem tartja be az alapvető óvintézkedéseket. Irán lakosságának csaknem fele koronavírus-fertőzött. Ezt a közelmúltban Hassan Rouhani elnök jelentette be. Elmondása szerint Irán a Covid-19 második hullámát éli át, amely június közepén kezdődött. Akkor kezdett el a fertőzéses és a halálos esetek száma hirtelen emelkedni. „30–35 millió ember érinthet a betegséget az elkövetkező hónapokban” – mondta az iráni elnök. Az elnök a fertőzésekkel és halálesetekkel kapcsolatos adatokat is közzétette, amelyek jelentősen különböznek a hivatalos statisztikáktól. Rouhani szerint 25 millió ember fertőzött az országban. Alireza Moezi, az elnök szóvivője elmondta, hogy ezek az adatok csak egy „értékelési forgatókönyv”, amely szerint „közel 25 millió iráni koronavírusos Iránban”. A múlt hónap közepén Rouhani elnök bejelentette, hogy az ország a koronavírus-járvány második hullámát éli át. Az államfő azt mondta, hogy ha az első hullám északot és az ország közepét sújtotta, akkor a második hullám délre sújtott le. Ugyanakkor Hassan Rouhani bízik abban, hogy Irán képes lesz megbirkózni vele.
A legfrissebb adatok szerint Iránban a járvány idején több mint 276 000 koronavírus-fertőzést regisztráltak, közülük 14,5 ezer eset halálos kimenetelű.
