Csaknem 3000 embert evakuáltak és belföldi légijáratokat töröltek Tajvanon a heves esőzéssel és orkánszerű széllökésekkel a sziget délkeleti részén vasárnap partot érő Haikui tájfun miatt.
Az előrejelzések szerint a ciklon a sziget gyéren lakott hegyvidéki részét helyi idő szerint vasárnap délután érheti el. A térség településein bezárták az iskolákat és a munkáltatók szabadnapot adtak minden dolgozónak.
Caj Jing-ven tajvani elnök a katasztrófavédelem munkatársaival szervezett megbeszélésen hangsúlyozta, hogy négy éve ez az első tájfun, amely partot érve átvonul a sziget központi, hegyvidéki szakaszán.

Ismét több ezer ember hagyja el otthonát Kanadában, miután újabb területeket veszélyeztet a térségben pusztító erdőtűz. A kanadai Északnyugati Területek kormánya a térségben pusztító erdőtüzek miatt elrendelte Hay River teljes lakosságának evakuálását – írta az MTI.
A hatóságok a Nagy-Rabszolga-tó mellett fekvő kisváros minden lakosát felszólították, hogy menjen a helyi repülőtérre, és ott várja a további utasításokat. A településen mintegy négyezren élnek.
Az Északnyugati Területek kormánya közleményében figyelmeztette a lakosságot, hogy csak saját felelősségére maradhat bárki a városban, ahonnan a mentőszolgálatokat is evakuálják.

Mintegy százezer embert evakuáltak a kelet-pakisztáni Pandzsáb tartomány elárasztott falvaiból, miután India vasárnap több százezer köbméter vizet eresztett a két ország közötti határfolyó tározóiba – számoltak be szerdán a helyi mentőszolgálatok.
A tartományban több száz falut elöntött a Szatledzs folyó, és több ezer hektárnyi mezőgazdasági terület, különösen ültetvények pusztultak el.
„Százezer embert mentettünk ki és szállítottunk biztonságosabb helyekre” – mondta Faruk Ahmad, a pandzsábi mentőszolgálat szóvivője szerdán az AFP-nek.

At least 10 people have died and 11 others were injured after a massive fire broke out at the multi-storey Lemon Green Restaurant in the Hauz Rani area of New Delhi on Wednesday morning.

A gyéren lakott régióból a lakosság 15 százalékát, mintegy 6000 embert menekítettek ki. A térségben idén eddig 265 erdőtűz keletkezett, jóval több az elmúlt tíz év 185-ös átlagánál. A régió székhelyén, az északi sarkkörtől 450 kilométerre délre fekvő Yellowknife városban már hétfőn veszélyhelyzetet hirdettek, miután a lángok megközelítették a 20 ezer lakosú települést.
Kanada-szerte 168 ezer embert evakuáltak a minden korábbi rekordokat megdöntő erdőtűzszezon kezdete óta. A futótüzek eddig 130 ezer négyzetkilométeren pusztították el a növényzetet, okoztak károkat anyagi javakban és létfontosságú infrastruktúrában.
Az Északnyugati Területeken, ahol gyakran több száz kilométer választja el egymástól az egyes településeket, nehéz lenne a szárazföldi kimenekítés, ezért légi úton viszik biztonságos helyre a lakosokat. A tüzek miatt létrehozott légihíd működtetésében 120 katona segédkezik. Az országutakat beborító füst miatt autóval nem is nagyon lehet útnak indulni.
A szomszédos Brit Columbia tartományban, ahol ugyancsak sok helyen lángol a növényzet, idén első ízben meghaladta a 40 Celsius-fokot a napi legmagasabb hőmérséklet. Lytton városban, amely két éve egy 49,6 fokos forrósággal járó hőkupolát követően lángok martaléka lett, 41,4 Celsius-fokot mértek kedden.
Kedd esti állapot szerint Kanadában országszerte 1071 erdőtűz ég, ebből 238 az Északnyugati Területeken, ami a második legtöbb a Brit Columbiában regisztrált 368 tűzvész után.
Kanadában, amely földrajzi fekvésénél fogva a Föld többi részénél gyorsabban melegszik, az utóbbi években megnőtt a klímaváltozás okozta extrém időjárási jelenségek száma és erőssége.

A napok óta tartó heves esőzés miatt a Braskereidfoss vízerőmű tározója megtelt. A Glama folyón található vízerőművet az árvíz miatt már korábban lekapcsolták.
Merete Hjertø, a védekezés egyik rendőri vezetője hangsúlyozza, hogy a folyó szintje tovább fog emelkedni, így most nem a gáttal foglalkozik a katasztrófavédelem, hanem az esetlegesen veszélyeztetett terület mentésével. Az elsődleges cél most, hogy az emberekre vigyázzanak a hatóságok.
A Frederik Thomson rendőrségi szóvivő elmondta, a tározó nyugati beton oldalán szerda délután átbukott a víz. A hatóságok most azt remélik, hogy a víz fokozatosan kiegyenlítődik.
„A víz fokozatosan elkezdett átszivárogni a gát oldalán, és egyelőre nem indokolt semmilyen intézkedést tenni az erőműnél” – mondta Thomson újságíróknak. Hozzátette, a helyzetet folyamatosan értékelik.
„A betonerőmű esetleges felrobbanásából származó kár olyan nagy lenne, hogy az nem szolgálná a célt” – mondta Thomson.
A vízerőmű gátján a zsilipeknek automatikusan és fokozatosan ki kellett volna nyílniuk, ahogy telik a tározó, azt egyelőre nem tudni, hogy miért nem nyíltak ki.
A közelben élő ezer embert már korábban evakuálták.
A viharok miatt közben Oslo északi részéről is több mint 600 embert kitelepítettek már. A helyzetet a rendőrség kaotikusnak nevezte. Szerdán Oslo és Trondheim között minden főutat lezártak. Aud Hove, Innlandet polgármestere elmondta, országos szintű válság alakult ki. Több település megközelíthetetlen, a mentők és tűzoltók nem tudnak eljutni a bajba jutottakhoz. Ráadásul a vihar még nem csillapodik, éjszakára újabb esőzéseket vár a norvég meteorológiai szolgálat.

Orosz támadás indult az Északkelet-Ukrajnában található Harkivi területen. Az ukrán hatóságok megkezdték az evakuációt a terület egyik járásában, 53 településen – több mint tízezer embernek kell elhagynia az otthonát.
A harkivi régióból Ukrajna tavaly ősszel szinte teljesen kiszorította az oroszokat, most azonban úgy fest, az orosz hadsereg ismét megpróbál visszatérni. Erről beszélt szerdán Olekszandr Szirszkij vezérezredes, az ukrán szárazföldi erők parancsnoka is, aki szerint Kupjanszk városa lehet az orosz erők fő támadási iránya, amelyet ugyancsak 2022 őszén foglaltak vissza az ukránok.
Ukrajna már az utóbbi napokban is elkezdett készülni egy esetleges támadásra ebben a térségben. Szirkszij is azt mondta, hogy ő maga is a helyszínen járt kedden, és beszéltek arról, milyen lépéseket tehetnek, ha megindul egy orosz támadás. A támadási szándékot előre jelezte például az is, hogy az utóbbi időben megszaporodtak a térségben végrehajtott orosz tüzérségi csapások.
Irina Verescsuk ukrán miniszterelnök-helyettes már kedden is arról beszélt, hogy a Harkivi terület több településén is arra készülnek, hogy elkezdik evakuálni a kiskorúakat. Az Ukrinform ukrán hírügynökség beszámolója szerint Verescsuk leszögezte, hogy kötelező evakuációra van szó, és ennek értelmében, ha kell, akkor akár erőszakkal is evakuálhatják a gyermekeket.
A tisztviselő azt nem árulta el, pontosan hány településen rendelhetik el az evakuációt, arra hivatkozott, hogy erről először a Harkivi Terület Védelmi Tanácsának kell döntést hoznia. Azt is hozzátette, hogy a nem kötelező jellegű evakuáció már meg is kezdődött néhány településen, több tucat gyermeket evakuáltak a szüleikkel, hozzátartozóikkal együtt.
Ezzel egy időben megjelent egy kiáltvány is a Kupjanszki járásban, amelyet a járási önkormányzat adott ki. Ebben arra szólították fel a járás lakóit, hogy hagyják el a területet, mivel az orosz bombázások és az ezek miatt megszaporodó erdőtüzek miatt nincsenek biztonságban.
Ennek eredményeképp szinte mindennap meghalnak és megsérülnek civilek. Ebből kifolyólag a hatóságok azt javasolják a Kupjanszki járás lakóinak, hogy hozzák meg a felelősségteljes döntést, és ideiglenesen távozzanak a Harkivi terület vagy Ukrajna többi, biztonságos részére, amíg az Ukrán Fegyveres Erők a munkájukat végzik – írták.
A fenti közleményben kötelező evakuációról még nem volt szó, de azóta ez is megkezdődött. Oleh Szinyebuhov, a Harkivi regionális önkormányzat vezetője ugyanis szerda délután aTelegram-oldalán közölte:
A védelmi tanács döntött: a Kupjanszki Járás 53 településén megkezdődhet a kötelező evakuáció.
Szinyehubov ugyancsak leszögezte, hogy a gyermekeket akár erőszakkal is evakuálhatják. Mindezt azzal indokolta, hogy súlyosbodott a hadműveleti helyzet a térségben, és az oroszok egyre gyakrabban bombáznak civilek által lakott területeket.
A regionális kormányzó közölte azt is, hogy az evakuáció, bár még csak önkéntes jelleggel, de már most is zajlik, és a terület lakosai segítséget kérhetnek tőlük bizonyos telefonszámokon ehhez.
A becslések szerint 11 ezer embert, köztük 600 gyermeket érint az evakuáció. Mindenkinek megadjuk a szükséges segítséget, az evakuáltakat ideiglenes lakhatással látjuk el a biztonságosabb területeken – írta Telegram-üzenetében Oleh Szinyebuhov.

Dél-Koreában mintegy 40 ezer, a 25. Cserkész Világtalálkozóra érkezett gyerek kimenekítésére készülnek a hatóságok a közelgő Khanun tájfun miatt – derült ki a Cserkészmozgalom Világszervezetének (WOSM) a dél-koreai hatóságokra hivatkozó, hétfőn kiadott közleményéből.

Az evakuálás a tervek szerint helyi idő szerint kedd reggel kezdődik.
A környéken uralkodó erős hőhullám miatt korábban már sok turista idő előtt félbeszakította vakációját, a cserkésztalálkozó szervezőit pedig előzőleg bírálatok érték, amiért kánikula idején éppen egy nagy kiterjedésű, fák nélküli, sík területre szervezték a cserkésztalálkozót.
A múlt héten a Khanun már lecsapott Kína keleti és Japán déli részére, ahol a viharok és esőzések halálos áldozatokat is követeltek.

Csaknem 140 embert kellett evakuálni szombaton egy kiterjedt erdőtűz miatt az északkelet-spanyolországi Katalóniában – közölték helyi hatóságok szombaton.
A kora reggeli kitelepítés a Portbou városától és a francia határtól nem messze délre fekvő tengerparti Garbet térségében működő kempinget is érintette a helyi tűzoltóság és polgári katasztrófavédelem tájékoztatása alapján.
Az erdőtűz még pénteken keletkezett, és szombat reggelre mintegy kétszáz hektáros, azaz mintegy 280 futballpályányi területet perzselt fel helyi tisztségviselők szerint.
Szombaton mintegy négyezer ember maradt áramszolgáltatás nélkül a katalán polgári katasztrófavédelem szerint. A Figueres és Portbau közötti vasúti közlekedést ideiglenesen felfüggesztették.
A helyszínen 66 spanyol tűzoltó dolgozott az erdőtűz megfékezésén, akiknek a munkáját tíz francia kollégájuk segítette. A hegyes-sziklás terep és az erős szél miatt nem volt könnyű megfékezni a lángokat a katalán hatóságok szerint.
