Február utolsó hetében több népszerű közösségi oldalon terjedni kezdett egy videó, amelyen egy ló bántalmazása látható. Kiderült, hogy a felvétel a Beregszászi kistérséghez tartozó Gát községben készült, ahol egy helyi lakos a videót rögzítő személy biztatására, a társaság szórakoztatására – egy állítólagos fogadásra hivatkozva – brutálisan ütlegelte az állatot. A felvételeken az is megfigyelhető, hogy a ló már a videó készítésekor is rossz állapotban volt.
Az eset kapcsán gyors és hatékony intézkedést hajtott végre a Beregszászi kistérség vezetősége, a képviselői testület néhány tagjával közösen. Február 25-én a délelőtti órákban a videón szereplő állatkínzó személyt a Beregszászi Járási Rendőrkapitányság munkatársai előállították, majd a beregszászi rendőrségre szállították. Az esetet jegyzőkönyvezték.
Ezt követően Gáton a rendőrkapitányság munkatársai egy nyomozó, a községi elöljáró, valamint egy állatorvos jelenlétében megvizsgálták a traumatizált állatot. A vizsgálat után a lovat elszállították, a Tiszacsomai Árpád Vezér Látogatóközpont és Lovarda ideiglenesen befogadta, ahol megfelelő rehabilitációt és életkörülményeket tudnak biztosítani az állatnak. A mentőcsapat a kimenekített állatot Mázlinak nevezte el.

Egy férfit az Egyesült Államokban 475 év börtönbüntetésre ítéltek kutyaviadalok szervezése és állatkínzás miatt. Ez a leghosszabb ítélet hasonló ügyekben.
A NBC News szerint az ügy 2022-ben indult, amikor egy Amazon szállító alkalmazottja értesítette a rendőrséget, hogy több kutyát látott láncokon Vincent Lemark Barrell házának udvarán Dallasban.
Amikor a hatóságok a helyszínre értek, több kutyát találtak, többségük pitbull volt.
Az ügyészek azt állítják, hogy a területen 107 kutya volt, amelyeken kegyetlen bánásmód jeleit fedezték fel. Barrell láncokon tartotta a kutyák egy részét, egy részüket pedig egy alagsorban.
A helyszíni állatorvos megvizsgálta a kutyákat, és néhányukon eltávolított fogakat és harcok nyomait találta. Ezt követően a kutyákat elkobozták és a Friends of the Forlorn Animal Rescue nevű jótékonysági állatvédő szervezethez adták.

Egy lengyelországi önkiszolgáló autómosóba szekérrel állt be egy férfi, majd az egyik magasnyomású, forró vizes mosóval kezdte locsolni lovát, amelytől az állat megvadult.
Az északkelet-lengyelországi Maków Mazowiecki egyik önkiszolgáló autómosójában szürreális jelenet játszódott le. A helyi rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint egy 43 éves férfi és társa szekérrel érkeztek, majd az egyik férfi fogta a forró vizes magasnyomású mosót, és mint egy autót, locsolni kezdte vele a lovát. Az állat ettől megvadult, két lábra állt, és többször berúgta a mosó oldalát, végül pedig a földre zuhant ‒ írja a Daily Mailre hivatkozva a maszol.ro.
Az autómosó közelében lévő benzinkút vezetője, aki a szemtanúja volt az eseményeknek, a helyi médiának azt nyilatkozta: „Megdöbbentett, amit láttam. Sok ember jár a mosóba naponta, de ehhez foghatót még sohasem tapasztaltam.”
A rendőrség az ügyben nyomozást indított állatkínzás miatt, az őrizetbe vett férfi akár három év börtönbüntetésre is számíthat.

Ternopilban egy részeg férfi kidobott egy kutyát egy negyedik emeleti ablakból. Az állatnál gerinctörést diagnosztizáltak.
Erről a Ternopili Megyei Rendőrkapitányság hivatalos weboldalán számoltak be. Az eset november 13-án történt.
A hatóságok megállapították, hogy néhány hónappal az incidens előtt a kutyát az utcáról vette magához két unokatestvér.
A rokonok alkoholt fogyasztottak. Az italozást követően az egyik testvér megragadta az állatot, és kidobta a balkonról. A szomszédok, akik ezt látták, értesítették a rendőrséget, és a sérült kutyát állatorvosi klinikára szállították. A rendőrök próbálják kideríteni, melyik rokon követte el a bűncselekményt
– áll a jelentésben.
Később az állatvédő közösség, az UAnimals szervezet jelezte, hogy a rendőrség büntetőeljárást indított az állatokkal való kegyetlen bánásmód miatt, és az ügyet bejegyezték az Egységes Nyilvántartó Rendszerbe, valamint megkezdték az előzetes nyomozást.

Egy helybéli szólt az állatvédőknek, hogy nagyjából húsz kutya lehet veszélyben egy zalakoppányi házban – számolt be az RTL Híradó. A helyszínre érkező magyar állatvédők azonban végül csaknem 80 állatot találtak a házban, ahol mindenhol kutyaürülék és vizelet volt.
Az állatvédők vették észre azt is, hogy a házban található hűtőben összesen 21 kutya tetemét rejtették el újságpapírban. A házban egy 67 éves német nő lakik, aki ellen állatkínzás gyanúja miatt eljárást indítottak. Az állatvédők szerint a nő a kutyákkal telezsúfolt, koszos házban lakott, ahol rendes ágya sem volt.
A megtaláltak kutyák csaknem mindegyike alultáplált, beteg és az oltásaik sincsenek meg. Közülük csak néhányat engedtek ki a kertbe, többségük valószínűleg sosem volt még a szabad levegőn. Az állatvédők minden kutyát kimentettek és megkezdték rehabilitálásukat.

Velikij Luh község aggódó polgárai bejelentéssel fordultak a Kárpátaljai Megyei Állami Ökológiai Felügyelőséghez egy őz nem megfelelő tartásáról.
Ezért a környezetvédelmi jogsértések megelőzését és felderítését célzó intézkedések során a környezetvédelmi felügyelőség munkatársai és közfelügyelők felkeresték a szabálysértőket.
A lakosok az ökofelügyelők kérésére önkéntesen átadták ezeket a vadon élő állatokat rehabilitáció céljából a Szinevéri Nemzeti Parknak, ahol kiengedték őket a természetes környezetbe.
A szabálysértőkkel szemben közigazgatási eljárás indult, a jegyzőkönyv értelmében rájuk kiszabott bírságot már kifizették.
