Október 16-án, hajnali 1:53-kor bejelentés érkezett a tűzoltósához egy tűzesetről az Ungvári járásban található Alsószlatináról.
A ház tulajdonosai éjjel arra ébredtek, hogy füstöt éreztek. Azonnal értesítették a tűzoltókat, és megpróbálták saját erőből eloltani a lángokat, de nem jártak sikerrel, mivel a tűz gyorsan terjedt a ház fa szerkezetein.
A tűzoltók előbb lokalizálták a tüzet, majd teljesen eloltották, összesen 50 négyzetméteren. A tűz következtében a ház födémje megsérült. A tűzoltók gyors beavatkozásának köszönhetően sikerült megakadályozni a lángok további terjedését, és megmenteni a házat a teljes megsemmisüléstől.
Szerencsére személyi sérülés nem történt. A tűz keletkezésének okát és az okozott kár mértékét a szakemberek vizsgálják.
