A viharos szél miatt csütörtök reggelre több mint 320 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül Lengyelországban – olvasható a lengyel kormány biztonsági központjának (RCB) honlapján. A tűzoltóság közlése szerint az ítéletidőnek egy halálos áldozata is van.
Az ország nyugati vajdaságaiban szerdától a legmagasabb, harmadfokú meteorológiai riasztás van érvényben az orkánszerű szél miatt, amelynek lökései elérik az óránkénti 120 kilométeres sebességet is. Szerda éjféltől csütörtök reggel 6 óráig a tűzoltóságot országszerte több mint 1400 alkalommal riasztották, a leggyakrabban a nyugat-lengyelországi régiókban. A tűzoltók kidőlt fákat, letört faágakat távolítottak el, több esetben megrongált háztetőket is biztosítottak. A nyugat-lengyelországi Lubusi vajdaságban fa dőlt egy közlekedő személygépkocsira, amelynek 70 éves sofőrje a helyszínen életét veszítette – közölte a helyi tűzoltóság a PAP hírügynökséggel. Erős szél fúj a Tátrában is, a helyi hatóságok hóviharról számoltak be. A hegyi mentőszolgálat (TOPR) harmadfokú lavinariasztást adott ki az ötfokú skálán. A LOT lengyel állami légitársaság szóvivője, Krzysztof Moczulski arról tájékoztatta a sajtót, hogy a nyugat-lengyelországi Bydgoszczból és a dél-lengyelországi Krakkóból Varsóba tartó két hajnali járatot az erős szél miatt Budapestre irányították át. A Liszt Ferenc repülőtéren a LOT gépei feltöltötték az üzemanyag-tartalékaikat, és mivel közben javultak a varsói időjárási viszonyok, elindultak a lengyel fővárosba.

A rossz időjárás miatt kedd reggelre 229 település maradt áram nélkül Ukrajna három megyéjében, legrosszabb a helyzet Kijev megyében, ahol 130 településen szünetel az áramszolgáltatás – adta hírül a korrespondent.net hírportál a Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálata.
A jelentés szerint az erős záporok, zivatarok és viharos szél következtében kedd reggel 7:00 órakor három megye 229 településén szünetelt az áramszolgáltatás. Kijev megyében 130, Csernyihiv megyében 92, Kirovohrad megyében 7 településen nem volt áram.
Az áramszolgáltatás helyreállításán folyamatosan dolgoznak a megyei áramszolgáltatók javítóbrigádjai.
Áramkimaradások voltak csütörtökön szerte Tajvanon a sziget déli részén található széntüzelésű erőműben bekövetkezett meghibásodás.
A kormány tájékoztatásában közölte: nincs elegendő villamosenergia-kapacitása a hálózatában a kaohsziungi erőműben történt meghibásodást követően. A CNA tajvani hírügynökség beszámolója szerint a sziget számos városában áramkimaradásokról számoltak be. Lo Ping-cseng kormányszóvivő nyugalomra intette a lakosságot, és újságíróknak azt mondta, hogy a kormány kézben tartja a helyzetet. Lo közlése szerint az erőmű összes egységét lezárták egy balesetet követően, mindazonáltal nem árult el részleteket.
A Taipower tajvani áramszolgáltató szerint a kiesést műszaki hiba okozta, az áramkimaradások helyi idő szerint késő délutánig állhatnak fenn. A közlekedési minisztérium tájékoztatása szerint a tajvani fő nemzetközi repülőtér és a nagy sebességű vonatok a normál üzemben folytatják tevékenységüket.

A texasi hideg miatt kártyavárként omlott össze az energiaellátás az amerikai tagállammal szomszédos Mexikó északi részén. Ötmillió ember maradt ellátatlanul, mert a földgázhiány miatt nincs áramtermelés.
Az állami kézben lévő szövetségi áramszolgáltató bizottság közölte, hogy zavarok keletkeztek működésében, mert a texasi téli vihar miatt befagytak a földgázvezetékek. Több magánkézben lévő erőmű is leállt vasárnap. Észak-Mexikóban a magánkézben lévő erőművek adják az előállított energia 80 százalékát.
Mexikóban földgázból állítják elő az áram 60 százalékát, szemben az Egyesült Államokkal, ahol csupán 40 százalékot. Mexikó azért épített gázvezetékeket, hogy az olcsó földgázt behozza Texasból, ahol gyakran hidraulikus repesztéses technológiával aknázzák ki a palagázt. Ezt az eljárást Mexikóban betiltották.
A helyi szolgáltató arról is beszámolt, hogy az Egyesült Államokban megemelkedett az energiaigény a rendkívüli hideg miatt. Ezzel párhuzamosan nagymértékben emelkedett a gáz ára is.
A szolgáltató azt állította, hogy hétfő délre az előfizetők 65 százalékánál helyreállította az áramellátást az Egyesült Államokkal szomszédos Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León és Tamaulipas államokban. Akadozott az ellátás Durango és Zacatecas államban is.
