Izraeli erők hatoltak be az al-Dzsazíra televízió épületébe a megszállt Ciszjordániában, Ramallahban vasárnap kora reggel, élő adás közben – írja a BBC. A katonák egy része maszkot viselt, a nézők pedig élőben nézhették, hogy ahogy átadják a műsorszolgáltató 45 napra történő felfüggesztéséről szóló határozatot. Izrael májusban rajtaütött az al-Dzsazíra názáreti és megszállt kelet-jeruzsálemi irodáin, miután a katari székhelyű, a katari kormány által finanszírozott műsorszolgáltatót nemzetbiztonsági fenyegetésnek minősítette.
„Az újságírók ilyen módon történő célba vételének célja mindig az igazság eltörlése és annak megakadályozása, hogy az emberek meghallják az igazságot” – mondta Omari a munkáltatója által közölt megjegyzésekben.
A katonák elkobozták az utolsó mikrofont és kamerát is, illetve kiszorították Omarit az irodából – mondta Mohammad Al-Száfin, az al-Dzsazíra újságírója.
A rajtaütésről a közösségi médiában posztoló Al-Száfin elmondta, hogy a katonák leszedték Shireen Abu Aqla, a csatorna riporterének plakátját is. Őt az izraeli erők ciszjordániai rajtaütéséről tudósítva öltek meg. A csatorna és szemtanúk szerint a palesztin-amerikai riportert az izraeli erők lőtték le. Izrael kezdetben azzal érvelt, hogy egy palesztin lőtte le, hónapokkal később azonban arra a következtetésre jutott, hogy „nagy a valószínűsége” annak, hogy az egyik katonája ölte meg.
Izrael többször is terroristaszócsőnek bélyegezte a hálózatot, az Al Jazeera a vádat mindvégig tagadta.

Az újság fotót is közölt a pár kutyájáról, amint azt a futópályán vezetik körbe.
A férj, Sanjeev Khirwar a lapnak elismerte, hogy „néha” a stadionba viszi sétálni a kutyáját, de tagadta, hogy az edzés abbahagyására kényszerítették volna a sportolókat.

Külföldi ügynökké nyilvánították Oroszországban a lettországi székhelyű The Insider vállalatot, amely az azonos nevű orosz oknyomozó hírportált is üzemelteti – közölte pénteken az orosz igazságügyi minisztérium.
A tárca honlapján megjelent közlemény szerint a lajstromra felkerült újabb öt orosz újságíró is.
Hírügynökségek felidézik, hogy a The Insider orosz hírportál több projektben is együttműködött a Bellingcat nemzetközi tényfeltáró újságírói hálózattal, és a többi között ők tárták fel több nyugati médium közreműködésével az orosz államfő egyik legismertebb bírálójaként ismert Alekszej Navalnij ellenzéki politikus megmérgezésének körülményeit.
Tavaly áprilisban a Meduza nevű független hírportált, májusban pedig a VTimes ellenzéki honlapot minősítették külföldi ügynöknek Oroszországban.
