Helyi hatóságokra hivatkozva az AFP francia hírügynökség hétfőn arról számolt be, hogy feltételezett dzsihadisták több mint 110 civilt tartanak fogva Maliban, és ez a helyzet már napok óta fennáll.
A tájékoztatás szerint a fegyveresek április 16-án támadtak meg három buszt, és az utasokkal teli járműveket az ország középső részén lévő Bandiagara és Bankass települések környéki erdőbe irányították.
A túszejtésre az elraboltak kiszabadítását követelő, Bandiagarában létrejött csoport hívta fel a figyelmet közleményben – rámutatva a térséget sújtó terrorcselekményekre és az otthonaikat elhagyni kényszerülők egyre növekvő számára is -, és tehetetlenséggel vádolta meg a hadsereget.
Mali 2012 óta küzd az al-Kaida, illetve az Iszlám Állam terrorhálózatokkal szövetséges dzsihadisták megfékezésével, akiket egy francia vezetésű katonai művelet során távolítottak el a hatalomból az északi városokban. Az elmenekült szélsőségesek azonban újból összeálltak a sivatagban, és támadásokat indítottak a mali hadsereg és szövetségesei ellen.
A biztonsági válság nyomán a Száhel-övezetben lévő országban humanitárius és politikai válság is kialakult, és az erőszakcselekmények átterjedtek a szomszédos Burkina Fasóra és Nigerre is.
A Maliban 2020 óta hatalmon lévő junta februárra ígérte a választások lebonyolítását – mely utat nyithatott volna a civil kormányzatnak –, ám a hadsereg által a kormány élére kinevezett Choguel Kokalla Maiga áprilisban azt közölte, a választások megtartása előtt a biztonsági helyzetet javítani kívánják.

Négy civil holttestére bukkantak a harkivi területen található Zaliznyicsnojban, a falut az orosz hadsereg visszavonulása után szabadították fel – írja a meduza.io. Az ukrán főügyészség szerint a civileket haláluk előtt megkínozták.
Három holttestet magáningatlanok területén temettek el, egy másikat pedig egy helyi aszfaltgyárnál. A helyi lakosok szerint falubeliek az áldozatok és orosz katonák ölték meg őket. A cikk szerint a maradványokat törvényszéki orvosi vizsgálatra küldték.
Pénteken az ukrán rendőrség már exhumált két holttestet, a férfiakat állítólag a megszállás alatt öltek meg Hrakovóban.
