A kiadott rendelet értelmében Ecuador 24 tartományából hétben, valamint egy nyolcadik tartomány egy településén lépnek életbe újabb rendkívüli intézkedések, amelyeknek köszönhetően a hatóságok egyebek között külön engedély nélkül razziázhatnak lakóházakban is, illetve hallgathatnak le vagy figyelhetnek meg telefonbeszélgetéseket és üzenetváltásokat.
A fokozott rendkívüli állapot egyelőre 60 napig marad érvényben, és Noboa ígértet tett arra, hogy alkotmányosságukat megvizsgáltatja az ecuadori alkotmánybírósággal.
Az államfő az elmúlt években jelentősen megnövekedett erőszakra, a közbiztonság komoly romlására hivatkozva vezetett be rendkívüli állapotot januárban, hogy hatékonyabban – akár a hadsereget is bevetve – felléphessen a terrorcsoportnak minősített, húsznál több bűnszervezet ellen.
A kormány friss adatai szerint tavalyhoz képest sikerült is 28 százalékkal csökkenteni a halálos áldozatok számát, de a mostani döntésben érintett körzetekben – Guayas, Santa Elena, Manabí, El Oro, Los Ríos, Sucumbíos, Orellana tartományban és Azuay tartomány egy településén, amelynek polgármesterét a közelmúltban meggyilkolták – ki kell terjeszteni a hatósági intézkedéseket annak érdekében, hogy más típusú bűncselekményeket is minél nagyobb arányban visszaszorítsanak.
Videóüzenetében az államfő úgy fogalmazott, hogy a most kiadott rendelettel a bűnbandák elleni „háború második szakaszába léptek”, figyelembe véve, hogy a konfliktus egyes körzetekben kiéleződött. A katonai beavatkozás miatt a bűnszervezetek ezekbe a tartományokba húzódtak vissza, és ott megerősítették állásaikat – tette hozzá az elnök.

Daniel Noboa a döntést a tartományokban dúló erőszakcselekményekkel indokolta. A tájékoztatás szerint El Oro, Guayas, Los Rios, Manabi és Santa Elena tartományban a szükségállapot 60 napig marad érvényben.
Tavaly novemberi hivatalba lépése óta Noboa a többi között 22 bandát minősített terrorszervezetté, amivel hivatalosan is katonai célponttá tette őket, januárban pedig 60 napra az egész országra kiterjedő szükségállapotot is kihirdetett.
A százezer lakosra jutó mintegy 46,5 gyilkosság tavaly a legtöbb volt az egykor békés andoki ország történetében, és az egyik legtöbb egész Latin-Amerikában is.
Ecuadorban a kábítószer-kereskedelmi útvonalak ellenőrzéséért a mexikói kartellekkel kapcsolatban álló, több nagyhatalmú banda harcol egymással. Ecuador fontos tranzitországa a Dél-Amerikából származó és az Egyesült Államokba, valamint Európába csempészett kokainnak.

Az ecuadori Guayaquil délnyugati régiójában hét embert öltek meg egy támadásban az ország bűnözési gócpontjában – tájékoztatott a rendőrség szombaton.
A hét férfi, köztük két kiskorú lőtt sebekkel teli holttestét a Guayaquiltől mintegy negyven kilométerre fekvő Nobol településen találták meg – számoltak be a hatóságok. A megöltek közül kettő büntetett előéletű volt.
A mészárlás, amelyet a helyi sajtó rendőrségi forrásokra hivatkozó értesülései szerint bosszú motivált, péntek este történt. Több órába telt, mire a rendőrség megtalálta az összes holttestet.
A gyilkosságok egyre gyakoribbak Ecuadorban, ahol a gyilkossági ráta a 2018-as százezer lakosra vetített 6 százalékról 2023-ra 43-ra emelkedett.
A Kolumbia és Peru – a világ két fő kokaintermelője – között fekvő ország az Egyesült Államokba és Európába irányuló kábítószer-szállítás logisztikai központjává vált.
Március végén nyolc embert gyilkoltak meg Guayaquilben, köztük öt ecuadori turistát, akiket elraboltak és megöltek egy tengerparton, miután összetévesztették őket a támadók riválisaival.

Az ecuadori belügyminisztérium közlése szerint ismeretlen fegyveresek támadtak egy csoport emberre Guayaquil tengerparti városában, nyolc halálos és nyolc sebesült áldozatot hagyva maguk után.
Fegyveres elkövetők megtámadtak rá egy csoportra Ecuador tengerparti városában, Guayaquilban, nyolc embert megöltek, és nyolc másikat megsebesítettek – közölte az ecuadori belügyminisztériumra hivatkozva az ABC News.
Helyi idő szerint szombaton este 7 óra körül fegyveresek érkeztek autóval a déli Guasmo városrészbe. Rálőttek az emberekre, kettőt azonnal megöltek, hatan később kórházban vesztették életüket a sebek súlyossága miatt – közölte a minisztérium. Egyetlen csoport sem vállalta azonnal a felelősséget a támadásért.
Ez volt a második ilyen tömeggyilkosság az utóbbi időben Ecuadorban. Legutóbb pénteken öt embert kivégzésszerűen ölt meg egy fegyveres banda a tengerparti Manabi tartományban. A rendőrség azt nyilatkozta, minden jel arra mutat, hogy az áldozatok turisták voltak, akik tévedésből keveredtek egy helyi kábítószer-kereskedelmi vitába.
Egy fegyveres csoport akkor összesen 11 embert rabolt el. A rendőrség nyilatkozata szerint a többi hat embert, köztük öt kiskorút kimentettek, és átadták őket a családjuknak. Két gyanúsítottat szombat reggel őrizetbe vettek.
Ecuador egykor a béke bástyájának számított Latin-Amerikában, de az utóbbi években megugrott az erőszakos támadások száma. Ecuador 2023 végén meghaladta a 100 ezer lakosra jutó 40 erőszakos halálesetet, ami a rendőrség szerint az egyik legmagasabb a régióban.
Ecuador elnöke, Daniel Noboa januárban szükségállapotot hirdetett, amely a rendőrségből és katonaságból álló biztonsági erők állandó működését írja elő. Ezenkívül ötórás kijárási tilalom van érvényben a különösen veszélyes területeken, például Guayaquilban.

A világ egyik legveszélyesebb országának számító Ecuadorban a biztonsági helyzet az utóbbi időben drámaian megromlott. Guayas tartomány a dél-amerikai ország egyik legerőszakosabb térségének számít, nemrég fegyveresek élő adás közben törtek be a TC Televisión állami tévé épületébe és túszul ejtettek több újságírót és alkalmazottat.
Suárezt bízták meg a televízióállomás elleni támadás kivizsgálásával, és éppen bírósági tárgyalásra utazott, amikor megölték – közölte a bírói tanács a támadást elítélő nyilatkozatában.
A helyi rendőrség szerint a gyilkosság merénylet volt, és az áldozat több lőtt sebet is kapott. A főügyész hivatala vizsgálatot indított a merénylet miatt, a rendőrség 13 embert, köztük két kiskorút vett őrizetbe, akiket terrorizmussal vádolnak.
„A bűnözők és a terroristák nem fogják visszatartani az ecuadori társadalom iránti elkötelezettségünket. Felszólítjuk a rendfenntartó erőket, hogy garantálják a feladataikat ellátók biztonságát” – mondta Diana Salazar főügyész egy közösségi médiában közzétett videóban.
„Elutasítjuk az erőszak minden formáját az általunk tapasztalt konfliktusra adott válaszként, és megerősítjük a nemzeti kormány erős elkötelezettségét az igazságszolgáltatás támogatása mellett” – közölte Giancarlo Loffredo védelmi miniszter.
A tavaly november óta hivatalban lévő Daniel Noboa elnök januárban 22 bandát nevezett meg terrorszervezetként, amivel hivatalos katonai célponttá tette őket, valamint 60 napos szükségállapotot hirdetett az országban.
A százezer lakosra jutó mintegy 46,5 gyilkosság tavaly a legmagasabb volt az egykor békés andoki ország történetében, és az egyik legmagasabb Latin-Amerikában.

Ecuadorban szombat estére kiszabadult az összes, a latin-amerikai ország börtöneiben a rabok által túszul ejtett börtönőr és börtönalkalmazott – jelentette be az ecuadori büntetés-végrehajtási intézeteket felügyelő országos szervezet (SNAI).
Daniel Noboa elnök a korábban Twitterként ismert X-en üdvözölte a hírt, és köszönetet mondott a rendőrségnek és a fegyveres erőknek.
A kormány egyúttal bejelentette, hogy a hadsereg folytatja műveleteit az országban, hozzátéve, hogy a héten már több mint ezer embert vettek őrizetbe.
A csaknem 180 börtönalkalmazottat és börtönőrt a hét elején ejtették túszul az országszerte kirobbant börtönlázadások során az Ecuador középső részén lévő Azuay, Canar, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua és Loja tartomány, valamint a partmenti Esmeraldas és El Oro büntetésvégrehajtó intézeteiben.
A világ egyik legveszélyesebb országának számító Ecuadorban a biztonsági helyzet az utóbbi időben drámaian megromlott. Kedden fegyveresek élő adás közben törtek be a TC Televisión állami tévé épületébe Guayaquil kikötővárosban, és túszul ejtettek több újságírót és alkalmazottat.
A tavaly november óta hivatalban lévő Noboa a héten 22 bandát nevezett meg terrorista szervezetként, amivel hivatalos katonai célponttá tette őket, valamint 60 napos szükségállapotot hirdetett ki az országban.

Ecuador a világ legnagyobb banánexportőre, illetve híres a jelentős olaj-, kávé-, kakaó-, garnéla- és halkereskedelméről is, ám a legtöbbet nem ezek az árucikkek, hanem a kokain hozza a konyhára, pontosabban annak a konyhájára, aki ellenőrizni képes az országon keresztülmenő kábítószerkereskedelmi főútvonalat.
Az ezzel kapcsolatos nézeteltérések időről időre véres leszámolásokat szabadítanak el a helyi és a külföldi bandák között is.
A mostani erőszakhullámot több börtönlázadás és szökések sorozata vezette fel, ezen utóbbiak közül a legfontosabb, José Macias Villamaré, ismertebb nevén Fitóé volt, aki a Los Choneros kartell vezetője és hétfőn oldott kereket nem sokkal azelőtt, hogy átszállították volna egy másik börtönbe.
Fito szökését követően rendelte el a 60 napra szóló rendkívüli állapotot Daniel Noboa elnök, aki azt követően szállt ringbe az államfői székért, hogy a korábbi jelöltet, Fernando Villavicenciót meggyilkolták, aki pár nappal az ellene elkövetett merénylet előtt épp Fitótól kapott halálos fenyegetéseket.
Ebből már látható, hogy Fito szökése nem használt túlzottan Noboa elnök reputációjának.

A tavaly novemberben hivatalba lépő Daniel Noboa ecuadori elnök kedden 22 bandát nevezett meg terrorista szervezetként, amivel hivatalos katonai célponttá tette őket.
„Háborúban állunk, és nem vagyunk hajlandóak engedni ezeknek a terrorista csoportoknak” – mondta Noboa egy helyi rádióállomásnak adott interjújában.
A hétfő hajnal óta tartó túszejtések és a Los Choneros bandát vezető Adolfo Macias hétvégi szökése a börtönből arra késztette Noboát, hogy 60 napos szükségállapotot hirdessen az országban. Az elnök kedden tovább szigorította a rendeletet, miután országszerte több robbanás történt, és fegyveresek élő adás közben törtek rá egy ecuadori televízióra.
A kormány szerint az erőszakos cselekményekkel Noboa azon tervére reagáltak, miszerint új, szigorúan őrzött börtönt építenének a bandavezérek számára.
Az SNAI szerint a túszok közül 125-en börtönőrök, 14-en pedig adminisztratív dolgozók. A szervezet értesülése szerint kedden a hatóságoknak sikerült tizenegy túszt kiszabadítaniuk.
A rendőrség szerdai közlése szerint eddig a héten 70 embert tartóztattak le a bűnbandák tagjai közül.

Több száz rendőr keresi Ecuadorban José Adolfo Macías Villamart, ismertebb nevén „Fitót” – írja a BBC. A rendőrség közölte, hogy vasárnap kora reggel vették észre a távollétét.
Fito hírhedt bűnöző, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy szerepet játszott Fernando Villavicencio elnökjelölt tavalyi meggyilkolásában.
Vasárnap este még nem volt világos, hogy Fitónak sikerült-e elhagynia a kikötővárosban lévő börtönkomplexumot, vagy esetleg valahol odabent rejtőzködik. Egy rendőrparancsnok azt mondta, hogy sem megerősíteni, sem cáfolni nem tudja a szökést.
Elmondta, hogy több száz rendőr kutatta át a guayaquili La Regional börtönt, ahol fogva tartották Fitót. A börtön több mint 12 000 elítéltnek ad otthont.
Fito az elmúlt 12 évének nagy részét a La Regionalban töltötte rácsok mögött. Augusztusban rövid időre áthelyezték a La Rocába, egy kisebb börtönbe, amely ugyanabban a létesítményben található, és amelyet a rabok alacsonyabb száma miatt biztonságosabbnak tartanak. Az elítélt ügyvédje azonban fellebbezett az áthelyezésről szóló döntés ellen, és nyert, így Fitót alig egy hónap után visszavitték a La Regionalba.
Fito már korábban is megszökött a börtönkomplexumból. 2013-ban 17 másik rabtársával együtt megszökött a La Rocából, és csónakokkal menekült a Daule folyón. A szökevényt testvérével együtt négy hónappal később fogták el édesanyjuk otthonában, Manta városában.
Fito azóta is börtönben van. Miután 2020 decemberében megölték Jorge Luis Zambranót, ő vette át a Los Choneros vezetését. A banda elsősorban kábítószer-kereskedelemmel és zsarolással foglalkozik, és kapcsolatokat ápol a hatalmas mexikói Sinaloa kartellel.
