Egy ember meghalt, egy pedig megsérült, miután rájuk szakadt a galéria egy budapesti élelmiszerboltban – közölte a Budapesti Rendőr-főkapitányság (BRFK) szóvivője kedden.
A baleset Budapesten, egy VIII. kerületi, Baross utcai boltban történt. A BRFK gondatlanságból elkövetett emberölés vétség gyanúja miatt rendelt el nyomozást ismeretlen tettessel szemben. A törmelék és a galériában felhalmozott áru – mintegy 20 négyzetméteren – négy embert temetett maga alá, hármat sikerült kimenteni.

A nigériai Lagosban, több tucat munkás rekedhetett a romok alatt, amikor összeomlott egy építés alatt álló 21 emeletes toronyház − jelentette be a helyi katasztrófavédelem ügyvivő vezetője, Ibrahim Farinloye.
Egyelőre nem tudni, pontosan hányan szorultak a romok közé, de eddig legalább három munkást sikerült élve kimenteni. Egyikük a helyi televíziónak nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy mintegy ötvenen dolgoztak az épületben, amikor összeomlott.
Ezzel szemben a US News azt írja, hogy több mint száz ember dolgozott az épületben. Hivatalos források szerint legalább hárman meghaltak, több tucat ember pedig a romok alatt ragadt.
Sajtóértesülések szerint munkások és helyi lakosok együtt próbálják kimenteni az embereket a törmelék alól. A legtöbb ilyen incidens hátterében a biztonsági előírások be nem tartása és a silány minőségű építőanyagok állnak.
Másfél éve, 2019 márciusában egy iskola épülete omlott össze, amely miatt több mint húsz ember halt meg, negyvennél is többen pedig megsérültek.

Két hét után befejezték a túlélők utáni kutatást a mentőcsapatok az összeomlott floridai toronyház romjai között. Már semmi esélye annak, hogy élve találjanak rá bárkire – jelentette be a megyei polgármester.
A világ minden tájáról érkeztek mentőcsapatok. Napi 24 órában kutattak, speciális műszereket, keresőkutyákat, minden létező technológiát bevetettek, de nem jártak sikerrel.
„Már kimerítettük a rendelkezésünkre álló összes kutatási és mentési lehetőséget” – közölte Miami-Dade megye polgármestere. „Nehéz döntést kellett meghoznunk, de a mai nappal áttérünk a helyreállítási műveletekre, valamint a hírekre váró szenvedő családok támogatására. Bármit is teszünk, már nem hozhatja vissza azokat, akiket elvesztettünk. De mindent megteszünk, hogy azonosítsuk az összes áldozatot, és felajánljuk segítségünket a családoknak mérhetetlen gyászukban” – ígérte Daniella Levine Cava.
A floridai Miami közelében, Surfside-ban június 24-én omlott össze egy 136 lakásos társasház egyik része, 55 lakás semmisült meg. Azóta egyetlen túlélőt sem találtak. A toronyház lakóinak többségét álmában érte a katasztrófa. Eddig 54 holttestet találtak a romok alatt, és 86 embert eltűntként tartanak nyilván a hatóságok.

Egy mexikói bíróság 208 év börtönbüntetésre ítélt egy férfit 26 ember – többségük gyermek – haláláért, akik akkor vesztették életüket, mikor egy iskola összeomlott a Mexikóvárost 2017-ben sújtó erős földrengés során – közölték szerdán a hatóságok.
A mexikóvárosi főügyészség közölte, hogy bebizonyosodott, hogy a munkálatok vezetőjeként megnevezett férfi a főváros déli Tlalpan kerületében lévő iskola statikai biztonságát garantálta anélkül, hogy elvégezte volna az előírt vizsgálatokat, és annak ellenére engedélyeztette, hogy az épület építésénél is masszív szabálytalanságok voltak.
A főügyészség a férfit Juan “N.”-ként nevezte meg. A helyi média Juan Mario Velarde Gamezként azonosította. A bíróság arra is kötelezte a férfit, hogy fizessen 377 450 pesót az áldozatok családjainak.
Tizenkilenc gyermek és hét felnőtt halt meg, amikor a magántulajdonban lévő Enrique Rebsamen iskola összeomlott a 7,1-es erősségű rengés során, amely az elmúlt évek legsúlyosabb földrengése volt Mexikóban. A fővárosban és a környező államokban is legalább 369 ember halt meg a rengés következtében.
A mexikói ügyészek akkor azt mondták, hogy vizsgálatot indítottak a tulajdonos és a magánellenőrök esetleges büntetőjogi felelősségének megállapítására az összeomlás miatt.
A Reuters értesülései szerint az ítéletet a mexikóvárosi metró 12-es vonalán május 3-án történt, szintén 26 ember halálát okozó felüljáró összeomlásának vizsgálata során hozták. A kormányzati adatok szerint a vonal ugyanabban a rengésben szenvedett el károkat.

Befejezték a mentési munkálatokat a kelet-kínai Szucsouban összeomlott szálloda épületénél, a romok alól összesen 17 holttestet emeltek ki – adta hírül internetes kiadásában a China Daily című kínai lap, a helyi hatóságok szerdai közlésére hivatkozva.
A hétfő délután történt balesetet hat ember élte túl, közülük öt sérültet még kórházban kezelnek. A baleset helyszínére több mint ötszáz mentőt vezényeltek ki, akik kutyákkal és életjeldetektorokkal kutatták fel a romok alá rekedt embereket.
A Hszinhua kínai állami hírügynökség jelentése szerint a szállodában szerkezeti felújítási munkálatok zajlottak, amikor a szerencsétlenség bekövetkezett. Az épület összeomlását a mentőcsapatok előzetes vizsgálata alapján éppen az engedély nélkül folyó munkálatok okozhatták.
Kínában gyakoriak a különböző, az épületbiztonsági előírások be nem tartásával összefüggő balesetek. Júniusban a közép-kínai Hupej tartományban gázrobbanás következtében omlott be egy helyi élelmiszerpiac épülete, több mint száz embert temetve maga alá. A balesetben 25-en veszítették életüket.

Összeomlott egy szálloda épülete a kelet-kínai Szucsouban, a balesetnek több halálos áldozata van, a mentés jelenleg is tart – adta hírül internetes kiadásában a China Daily című kínai lap kedden.
A szálloda épülete egyelőre ismeretlen okból hétfő délután omlott össze. A romok alól eddig tizennégy embert emeltek ki, közülük nyolcan nem élték túl a balesetet. Kilenc embert még keresnek. A baleset helyszínére több mint ötszáz mentőt küldtek, akik kutyákkal és életjeldetektorokkal próbálják felkutatni a romok alá rekedteket.

Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade megye polgármestere a szerda este tartott sajtótájékoztatóján jelentette be, hogy nem folytatják tovább a keresést a romok alatt.
A polgármester hangsúlyozta, mély szomorúsággal kell tudatnia, hogy egy rendkívül nehéz döntés végén úgy határoztak, a keresési- és mentési műveletekről áttérnek a helyreállítási műveletekre az érintett területen. Ez azt jelenti, hogy már nem keresik az áldozatokat az épület körül, és gyakorlatilag minimális esély sem maradt arra, hogy bárki is élve kerüljön ki a romok fogságából. Két hét telt el a lakóház egy részének hirtelen összeomlása óta, és megállás nélkül keresték a túlélőket.
A világ minden tájáról érkeztek mentőcsapatok, hogy túlélőket találjanak, speciális műszereket és az erre a célra kiképzett kutyákat is használtak, de nem jártak sikerrel. Minden lehetséges stratégiát és rendelkezésükre álló technológiát bevetettek annak érdekében, hogy élő embereket találjanak a romot között.
Több tonna betont és törmeléket távolítottak el a keresési műveletek során, miközben szonárokat, kamerákat, kutyákat és nehézgépeket is használtak. A nap 24 órájában kutatták a területet, hogy túlélőket találjanak, minden lehetséges és elérhető részt átnéztek a szakemberek.
A mentőegységek az életüket kockáztatták a veszélyes területen, reménykedve abban, hogy túlélőkre bukkanhatnak. Alig néhány nap alatt lebontották az álló épületet, hogy kiterjeszthessék az elérhető területet a kutatás miatt.
A polgármester kiemelte, az első naptól kezdve az volt a legfőbb prioritásuk, hogy mindent megtegyenek, ami emberileg lehetséges, és minden egyes részt külön kutatták át. Daniella Levine Cava büszke a csapatokra, akik kiváló munkát végeztek, és hálás a külföldi segítségért, akik rögtön útra keltek.
Ahogyan ő fogalmazott, ezen a ponton már kimerítették a lehetőségeiket, ami a keresési és mentési műveletekre rendelkezésükre állt. Ettől a ponttól kezdve a helyreállítás veszi át a főszerepet, hogy segítsenek a családoknak, akik szenvednek és várják a híreket.
Hangsúlyozta, mindent megtesznek annak érdekében is, hogy az összes áldozatot azonosítsák, és a családok megkezdhessék a gyász időszakát.

A legújabb információk alapján rengeteg embert sikerült kimenteniük a tűzoltóknak, ám rossz hír, hogy nagyjából ugyanennyi személy holléte még mindig kérdéses.
Továbbra is tartanak a mentési munkálatok a Miami mellett található Surfside városban történt épületomlás miatt, a csütörtök hajnalban bekövetkezett tragédia során a hatóságok szerint legalább egy ember életét vesztette.
Miami-Dade megye polgármestere, Daniella Levine Cava legutóbbi sajtótájékoztatója során közölte, összesen 102 embert tudtak kimenteni a romok és törmelékek közül a szakemberek, a súlyos sérülteket pedig kórházba szállították – adta hírül a CNN.
A megyevezető hozzátette, sajnos nincs ok a megnyugvásra, ugyanis 99 egyént továbbra sem találnak, bár az egyelőre biztató, hogy a korábban bejelentett 55 megkerült szállodalakó helyett már kétszer ennyi emberre sikerült rábukkanniuk.
A mentőalakulatok elmondása szerint kétségbeesett sikolyokat és segélykiáltásokat hallottak a romok alól. A bajbajutott személyek többsége olyan omladékok alatt tartózkodik, ahonnan szinte képtelenség őket kimenteni, mégis minden erejükkel azon vannak a tűzoltók, hogy kiszabadítsák őket onnan.
Charles Burkett, Surfside városvezetője mindeközben arról beszélt, attól tartanak, hogy a lakókomplexum teljesen összedőlhet, ezért azt szeretnék elérni, hogy a lehető legrövidebb idő alatt kimenekítsék a romok alól a túlélőket.
