Christopher Wray a Képviselőház 2025-ös költségvetésről szóló bizottsági ülésén azt hangoztatta, hogy október 7. után külföldi terrorszervezetek sora szólított fel támadásokra amerikaiak és szövetségeseik ellen – írja az MTI. Megállapította, hogy a legközvetlenebb veszélyforrást ma az jelenti, hogy a felszólításokból ösztönzést merítve egyének vagy kisebb csoportok követnek el belföldön terrortámadást.
Hozzátette azt is, hogy az Iszlám Állam afganisztáni szervezete által Moszkvában végrehajtott támadás növeli a valós aggodalmat egy összehangolt terrorista akció miatt is.
Minden eszközre, minden emberre és minden forrásra szükség van most, hogy képesek legyünk megküzdeni a fenyegetettséggel és fenn tudjuk tartani az amerikaiak biztonságát – fogalmazott az FBI igazgatója, és hozzátette, hogy most nem annak van itt az ideje, hogy költségvetési csökkentés vagy bármilyen visszalépés következzen be.

Állítása szerint a koronavírus-járvány kezdetén, az iskolabezárások idején, gyerekként vette fel a kapcsolatot az Iszlám Állam egy csoportjával. Ezt követően mintegy két éven keresztül kommunikált a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda fedett ügynökeivel, akik az Iszlám Állam tagjainak adták ki magukat.
Autóval próbált meg behajtani az FBI épületébe egy férfi az Egyesült Államokban. A sofőr az első sorompón átjutott, de az őrök a parkolóban felnyitott útzárral megállították. A férfit kivizsgálásra kórházba szállították, majd őrizetbe vették.
Őrizetbe vettek egy sofőrt, aki szándékosan nekihajtott az FBI atlantai központjának bejárati kapujába. Az FBI közölte, hogy a jármű hétfőn nem sokkal dél után hajtott el az alkalmazottak bejárati kapuja mellett. A sofőr megpróbált behajtani az épületbe, de a hatóságok egy aszfaltból felnyitható útzárral tartóztatták fel.
A sofőrt kórházba szállították, majd őrizetbe vették.

A már szombat este előállított két amerikai férfit a vádirat szerint azzal gyanúsítják, hogy közreműködtek az Oleg Gyeripaszka ellen a háború miatt hozott büntetőintézkedések kijátszásában.
A gyanút súlyosbítja, hogy az FBI egykori munkatársa szolgálati ideje alatt éppen az oligarchák, köztük a Gyeripaszka ellen indított vizsgálatokkal foglalkozott. A férfi egyébként orosz származású amerikai állampolgár társával közösen nemrég megpróbálta az orosz milliárdossal szemben elrendelt szankciókat feloldatni.
Gyeripaszka ellen még szeptemberben, távollétében emeltek vádat a szankciók megsértése miatt. Ha elítélik, akár húsz év börtönnel is sújthatják – írta az MTI.

Kedden késő este felrobbant egy csomag a bostoni Északkeleti Egyetem kampuszán, egy alkalmazott kisebb sérüléseket szenvedett.
A hatóságok egy másik gyanús csomagot is találtak az egyetem mellett lévő Szépművészeti Múzeum közelében. A Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) is részt vesz a nyomozásban.
A felrobbant csomag egyike volt annak a kettőnek, amelyet kora este jelentettek a rendőrségnek. A másik csomagot a bostoni bombaszakértők semlegesítették a múzeumnál. Az NBC Boston jelentése szerint a kampuszon talált csomag akkor robbant fel, amikor kinyitották az egyetem – melynek 16 ezer hallgatója van – Holmes Halljának közelében. A rendőrség este fél nyolc előtt érkezett a kampuszra. Az érintett épületet kiürítették.
Egy férfi megsérült, járőrözés lesz más kampuszokon is
Shannon Nargi, az egyetem szóvivője arról számolt be, hogy a robbanás következtében a Boston belvárosában található intézmény egy meg nem nevezett dolgozójának a keze könnyebben megsérült. Felipe Colon bostoni rendőrfelügyelő később elmondta, hogy a sérült egy 45 éves férfi volt.
Michael Davis, az egyetemi rendőrség vezetője kijelentette: az egyetem már biztonságos.
Kevin Hayden, Suffolk megye kerületi ügyésze átfogó vizsgálatot ígért az ügyben.

A biztonsági szakember szerint néhányan a vállalat dolgozói közül aggódtak, hogy a kínai kormány képes a cég felhasználóiról adatokat gyűjteni.
A Twitter biztonsági megoldásait, illetve azok hiányát már korábban is sok kritika érte, például amikor 2020-ban több tucatnyi fiók került tinédzser hackerek kezébe, köztük Barack Obama egykori elnöké.
Zatko keddi, szenátusi meghallgatása az igazságügyi bizottság előtt azonban ennél is súlyosabb hibákat tárt fel, köztük azt, amikor a céggel közölték, hogy kínai ügynökök vannak az alkalmazottak között. Vallomása alatt az egykori biztonsági főnök a vállalatnál folyó belső vitákat is felidézte, ugyanis állítása szerint bizonyos csoportok a cégnél a kínai reklámbevételek maximalizálására törekedtek, míg mások aggodalommal figyelték az erősödő kínai kapcsolatokat a növekvő geopolitikai feszültségekkel párhuzamosan.

Grassley felhívta a figyelmet arra is, hogy a Twitter vezérigazgatója, Parag Agrawal visszautasította a megjelenést a meghallgatáson, hogy ne sodorja veszélybe a cég perét Elon Muskkal szemben. A per tétje az, hogy végre kell-e hajtani a milliárdos és a vállalat közötti szerződést, melynek keretében Musk 44 milliárd dollárt ígért a Twitterért.
A szenátor nyitóbeszédében elmondta, hogy Zatko állítása közvetlenül érintették Agrawalt, és amennyiben azok igazak, akkor a vezérigazgatónak nem lehet sokáig maradása pozíciójában.

Zatko meghallgatására egy a vállalat és a Szövetségi Kereskedelmi Bizottság (FTC) között kötött megállapodás betartása kapcsán került sor. A szivárogtató szerint a közösségi média félrevezette a hatóságokat az egyezségnek történő megfelelése kapcsán. A Twitter szerint viszont Zatkót hatástalan vezetői magatartása és gyenge teljesítménye miatt rúgták ki, és állításai úgy tűnnek, mintha direkt a cég lejáratására születtek volna.
A Twitter részvényei kedden 42 dollár körül mozogtak, 10 dollárral a Musk által ajánlott részvényenkénti 54.20 dolláros érték alatt, ugyanakkor a Twitter azon kevés cég közé tartozott, melyek a keddi, gyenge inflációs adatot követő tőzsdei zuhanásból kimaradtak.
Az észak-koreai hackercsoport, a Lazarus 625 millió dollárt érő kriptovalutát zsákmányolt márciusban, ebből most az FBI 30 milliót tudott visszaszerezni.
Az FBI a Chainalysis blokkláncelemző segítségével visszaszerzett 30 millió dollár értékű ellopott kriptopénzt, amit az észak-koreai hackercsoport, a Lazarus tulajdonított el – írja az Engadget.
Az összeg a töredéke annak a 625 millió dollárt érő kriptovalutának, amit az észak-koreai Lazarus csoport zsákmányolt az Axie Infinity nevű online játékból, ahol a játékon belüli gazdaság a digitális pénzekre épül.
Ez az első eset, hogy egy észak-koreai hackercsoport által eltulajdonított kriptopénzt lefoglaltak.
Az online játék tulajdonosai elárulták, hogy a visszaszerzett digitális vagyont fokozatosan kapják majd vissza az áldozatok, de ez több évig is eltarthat.
A bibliai Lázár után elnevezett észak-koreai csoport több mint tíz éve aktív, 2014-ben megtámadta a Sonyt, miután a japán vállalat Kim Dzsongunról készített vígjátékot. A zsarolóvírusok terjesztése mellett a csoport több bankot, kaszinót és céget rabolt ki az elmúlt években.
2015-ben betörtek bangladesi központi hitelintézet informatikai rendszerébe, és több mint egymilliárd dollárra tették rá a kezüket, de végül csak 81 milliót tudtak ellopni. Az amerikai hatóságok nem tudják, hányan vannak a szervezetben, ki lehet a vezetője, de az FBI abban biztos, hogy az észak-koreai kormánynak dolgoznak.
Akcióikban az alvilág is részt vesz, és amerikai vádak szerint a kínai titkosszolgálatok is segítik őket. Korábban Marine Chain néven dobtak piacra kriptovalutát, ami átverés volt: a kriptót vásárló befektetők bukták a pénzüket. Előszeretettel hoznak létre kriptopénztárcákat, alkalmazásokat, majd az így megszerzett adatokkal ellopják a kereskedők vagyonát. A lopott pénz tisztára mosásához a nemrég amerikai szankciókkal sújtott Tornado Casht használták.
