Az Egészségügyi Világszervezet (WHO) riasztást adott ki négy, köhögés elleni szirup miatt, melyek eddigi adatok alapján 66 gyermek halálát okozhatták Gambiában.
A köhögés elleni szirupok „potenciálisan kapcsolatba hozhatók akut vesekárosodással és 66 gyermek halálával” – áll a WHO a honlapján közzétett figyelmeztetésben.
A termékeket egy indiai cég, a Maiden Pharmaceuticals gyártotta. A vállalat a halálesetekkel kapcsolatban egyelőre nem nyilatkozott. Az indiai tisztviselők kérték a WHO-t, ossza meg a szirupok és a halálesetek közötti kapcsolatra vonatkozó bizonyítékokat.
Az említett négy termék a Promethazine Oral Solution, a Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, a Makoff Baby Cough Syrup és a Magrip N Cold Syrup nevű gyógyszerek.
A WHO beavatkozására azt követően került sor, hogy a népszerű turisztikai célpontnak számító Gambiában az egészségügyi hatóságok július végén az öt év alatti gyermekek körében az akut vesekárosodás megnövekedett esetszámát észlelték. A gambiai kormány azóta betiltotta a szirupok használatát.
Mérgező anyagot tartalmaznak a szirupok
A WHO szerint a termékekből vett minták laboratóriumi elemzése megerősíti, hogy nagy mennyiségű szennyezőanyagot (dietilén-glikolt és etilénglikolt) tartalmaznak a szirupok.
Az említett anyagok mérgezőek, és hatásukra hasi fájdalom, hányás, hasmenés, vizeletürítési képtelenség, fejfájás, megváltozott mentális állapot és akut vesekárosodás alakulhat ki, de akár halált is okozhatnak.
Az AFP hírügynökség értesülése szerint a gyártó csak Gambiába szállíthatta a szennyezett gyógyszereket. A WHO szerint azonban lehetséges a „globális kitettség”, mivel a gyártó ugyanazt a szennyezett anyagot más termékekben is felhasználhatta.

Több mint 100 doboz, kábítószert tartalmazó Tramadol gyógyszert foglaltak le a Kárpátaljai Vámhivatal csempészet és vámszabályok megsértése elleni osztályának felügyelői az ukrán–szlovák határon. A fuvarozó a humanitárius rakomány között, engedély nélkül szállította egy kisbuszban az Európai Unióból Ukrajna vámterületére. Az eset az ungvári határátkelőn történt.
A vámellenőrzés során a kárpátaljai fuvarozó átadta a kísérő okmányokat, amelyek szerint humanitárius rakományt, 2 raklapnyi, 32 doboz, közel 600 kg egészségügyi felszerelést és terméket (gyógyszert), szállít Ukrajnába10,6 ezer euró értékben.
A szállítmányt egy ukrán jótékonysági szervezetnek címezték. A fuvarozó szóban arról biztosította az ellenőröket, hogy nem szállít olyan árut, amelynek szállítása az államhatáron keresztül tiltott vagy korlátozva van.
A határátkelő dolgozói azonban úgy döntöttek, alaposabb vizsgálatot tartanak a gépjárműben. A csomagtérben 100 csomag Tramadol gyógyászati terméket találtak (1000 db tabletta dobozonként), amelyek kartondobozokba voltak csomagolva. Mint kiderült, a fuvarozónak nem volt engedélye a kábítószert tartalmazó gyógyászati készítmény határon át való szállítására.
A tramadolhydrochlorid hatóanyag egyébként szerepel a kábítószer, pszichotróp anyagok és prekurzorok listáján. A kormány által elfogadott határozat értelmében a termék a megfelelő tranzit- vagy exportengedélyekkel behozható Ukrajna vámterületére.
A fuvarozóra Ukrajna Vámkódexe 471. cikkelyének 3. része alapján jegyzőkönyvet állítottak ki, a gyógyszert lefoglalták. A jogszabály háromszáz adómentes minimálbérnek megfelelő pénzbírság kiszabásáról és a tiltott áru elkobzásáról rendelkezik.
Egyébként interneten egy doboz Tramadol (1000 tabletta) ára 10 000 hrivnya, tehát 100 doboz hozzávetőleges összköltsége eléri az egymillió hrivnyát – számolt be Kárpátaljai Vámhivatal sajtószolgálata.

Az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat (SZBU) leleplezett egy bűnbandát, mely ismeretlen eredetű gyógykészítmények törvénytelen behozatalával foglalkozott. A szállítmány között lévő egyes gyógyszereket a Covid–19 okozta trombózisveszély ellen használnak. A hírt az SZBU sajtószolgálata közölte.
A gyógyszereket Délkelet-Ázsiából szállították Ukrajnába repülőgépen, a szállítás és tárolás feltételeinek betartása nélkül. Az Állami Gyógyszerellenőrző Szolgálat elmondása szerint a készítmények egyenesen veszélyt jelentettek a páciensekre.
A bűnszervezet az interneten és engedélyekkel nem rendelkező gyógyszertárakban értékesítette árucikkeit.
A hatóságok több házkutatást is tartottak Kijevben, melynek során 4,2 ezer doboz, 6,5 millió hrivnya értékű gyógyszert, 66,2 ezer dollárt és 65 ezer hrivnyát, bankkártyákat és számítógépeket foglaltak le.
Az ügyben továbbra is folyik a nyomozás, a vizsgálatok tartanak.

Az Interpol vezetője szerint fel kell készülni arra a veszélyre, hogy amint kifejlesztik a koronavírus elleni oltóanyagot, a bűnözők hamis készítményekkel fogják elárasztani a piacot.
Jürgen Stock utalt arra, hogy nemrég hamisított védőeszközök – szájmaszkok és kézfertőtlenítők – jelentek meg a piacon. Ez a jelenség is mutatja, hogy a hamisított termékek újabb globális hulláma várható, amint elérhető közelségbe kerül az oltóanyag – tette hozzá.
Stock szerint a bűnözők világszerte gyorsan alkalmazkodtak a világjárvány okozta új helyzetre: arra törekszenek, hogy kihasználják az emberek félelmeit, aggodalmait és szükségleteit, és ennek tükrében alakítják át bűnözői tevékenységüket. Ázsiában például a bűnbandák egyre inkább próbálnak behatolni a kórházi hulladékokat feldolgozó iparágba, és erre lehet számítani a világ más részein is.
Az Interpol vezetője arra is figyelmeztetett, hogy a bűnözők a pandémiát kihasználva idős embereket próbálnak meg becsapni, például olyan trükkel, hogy pénzszűkében álló rokonoknak adják ki magukat. A kibertámadások is várhatóan megsokszorozódnak majd, mivel a kijárási korlátozások miatt nagyon sokan dolgoznak távmunkában.

A vámhatóság pszichotróp hatású gyógyszerek behozatalát akadályozta meg a Tisza határátkelőnél. A tiltott árut egy Olaszországból érkező ukrán állampolgár akart Ukrajna területére becsempészni Dudge Sprinter járművén.
A vámkezeléskor
a férfi azt állította, hogy kizárólag személyes holmikat
szállít, s tagadta, hogy szállítana bármilyen tiltott anyagot. A
jármű ellenőrzésekor a határátkelő munkatársai egy dobozra
bukkantak, mely 122 doboz és 20 flakon pszichotróp hatású
gyógyszert tartalmazott (összesen 2400 darab gyógyszert, 60
kapszulát és 20 flakont).
A férfi a Rivortil, Xanax és Frisium típusú gyógyszereket csomagtartójában rejtette el – közölte a megyei vámszolgálat.
