Tunéziában halálra ítélték a Sokri Beladi baloldali ellenzéki vezető 2013-as meggyilkolása ügyében indított per négy vádlottját a legelső ítéletben, amelyet az országot megrázó ügyben hoztak – jelentette be szerdán az országos televízióban a terrorizmusellenes igazságügyi részleg egyik bírája.
Összesen 23 ember ellen emeltek vádat a 48 éves ügyvéd, a Tunéziában akkor hatalmon lévő iszlamista Újjászületés Mozgalom (Ennahda) éles hangú bírálójának 2013. február 6-i meggyilkolásával kapcsolatban.
A tuniszi törvényszék 15 órás tanácskozás és 11 évnyi nyomozás és bírósági eljárás után két vádlottat életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre ítélt – jelentette be élő adásban Ajmen Cstiba, a terrorizmusellenes igazságügyi osztály helyettes ügyésze.
Más vádlottakra 2-től 120 évig terjedő börtönbüntetéseket szabtak ki, míg öt személyt felmentettek, bár ellenük más ügyekben még eljárás folyik.
Beladi meggyilkolását az Iszlám Állam (IÁ) terrorcsoporthoz csatlakozó dzsihadisták vállalták magukra, hat hónappal később pedig egy másik baloldali ellenzéki, Mohamed Brahmi 58 éves parlamenti képviselő meggyilkolásának elkövetőiként is ők jelentkeztek.
A tunéziai hatóságok 2014 februárjában jelentették be, hogy egy terrorellenes művelet során meghalt Kamel Gadgadi szalafista szélsőséges, akit Beladi meggyilkolásának fő felelőseként tartottak számon.
Beladi és Brahmi ellenezte az Ennahda mozgalom politikáját, amely a 2011-es tunéziai forradalom után tíz éven át uralta a parlamentet és a kormányt, egészen Kaisz Szaíd jelenlegi elnök 2021. július 25-i államcsínyéig, amellyel teljhatalmat biztosított magának.
A két merénylet sokkolta Tunéziát, és fordulópontot jelentett az arab tavasz bölcsőjének számító, a demokratikus átmenet szakaszában lévő ország számára. A történtek mély politikai válságot idéztek elő, melynek végén az Ennahda 2014-ben átadta a hatalmat egy technokratákból álló kormánynak.

A vád szerint a parancsnokok januárban kivonták csapataikat a kínai határhoz közeli, stratégiai fontosságú Laukkaiból, amely ezt követően a junta ellen harcoló egyik milícia kezére jutott.
Laukkait, Kokang régió székhelyét hónapokon át tartó harcok után január elején foglalta el a Három Testvér lázadószövetség egyik tagszervezete, a Mianmari Nemzeti Demokratikus Szövetségi Hadsereg (MNDAA). A városban a hadsereg kétezer katonája tette le a fegyvert, majd családtagjaikkal együtt elhagyták a települést.

Iránban a bíróság halálra ítélt egy német–iráni kettős állampolgárt – jelentette be az igazságügyi tárcához közel álló Mizán hírügynökség, hozzátéve, hogy az ítélet nem jogerős.
Dzsamséd Sarmahd ellen a vád „romlás terjesztése a földön”. Az iráni hatóságok ezzel a Koránból vett kifejezéssel rendszerint ellenzéki tevékenységeket illetnek. Az ügyészség szerint az akkor az Egyesült Államokban élő Sarmahd vezette a Tondár (Mennydörgés) nevű monarchista csoportot, amely több, Iránban elkövetett terrortámadásért, egyebek között egy sirázi mecsetben 2008-ban végrehajtott, 14 halottal járó pokolgépes támadásért felelős.
A Los Angeles-i székhelyű, kevéssé ismert csoport célja az 1979-es iráni iszlám forradalom során elsöpört monarchia visszaállítása, tagjai külföldön rádió- és televízió-állomásokat is üzemeltetnek. Sarmahd letartóztatását 2020-ban jelentette be az iráni hírszerzési minisztérium.
Családja akkori közleménye szerint a férfit Dubajban rabolta el az iráni titkosszolgálat. A közleményben kiemelték, hogy Sarmahd csak a Tondár szóvivője volt, és semmi köze azokhoz a merényletekhez, melyekkel Teherán vádolja a csoportot.
Az osztrák külügyminisztérium kedden arról számolt be, hogy egy osztrák állampolgárral szemben is született elmarasztaló ítélet az Iszlám Köztársaságban. Őt még októberben vették őrizetbe, és hétfőn kémkedés vádjával első fokon hét és fél börtönre ítélték.
Az ügyben bekérették Irán bécsi nagykövetét az osztrák külügyminisztériumba. A tárca közlése szerint Ausztria kifejezte „félreérthetetlen tiltakozását az ítélettel kapcsolatban”, különös tekintettel arra, hogy a vádlott kizárólag osztrák állampolgársággal rendelkezik.

Szambi 2006-tól 2011-ig volt az alig egymillió lakosú szigetország államfője. A helyi média úgy tudja, hogy az útleveleket az Perzsa-öböl menti országokban élő hontalanok számára adták el.
A Radio France Internationale (RFI) szerint az ügyészek azzal vádolták meg Szambit, hogy 1,8 milliárd eurót (több mint 730 milliárd forintnyi összeg) keresett az üzleten, többet, mint az ország éves GDP-je.
Az RFI idézte Mahamadu Ahamada ügyvédet, Szambi védőjét, aki szerint nem volt bizonyíték a sikkasztásra, a per politikai indíttatású volt.
Az elítélt volt államfő Azali Aszumani elnök politikai ellenlábasa. A fővárosban, Moroniban ülésező állambiztonsági bíróság elrendelte Szambi vagyonának elkobzását is.
Az illegális útlevél-kereskedelemben részt vevő többi illetékesre a bíróság húsz évig terjedő börtönbüntetést szabott ki.
A HabarizaComores helyi hírportálon közzétett video szerint a bíróság elnöke közölte, hogy Szambi „visszaélt elnöki jogkörével, engedélyezve, hogy maffiaszerű rendszert hozzanak létre Comore-szigeteki útlevelek illegális értékesítésére”.

A kínai állami média pénteken jelentette be, hogy halálra ítélték Kínában az ország egykori állambiztonsági miniszterhelyettesét vesztegetés, tőzsdei manipulációk és fegyverek illegális birtoklása miatt. Az ítéletet két évre felfüggesztették.
A vád szerint az 53 éves Szun Li-csün mintegy 646 millió jüan kenőpénzt fogadott el. A politikus az elsők között volt, akit a koronavírus-járvány kitörése idején, 2020 februárjában Vuhanba küldtek, hogy megfékezze a járvány terjedését – jegyzi meg az EFE spanyol hírügynökség.
Csütörtökön a kínai állami média egy másik politikus, Fu Cseng-hua volt igazságügyi miniszter halálos ítéletéről adott hírt, amit szintén két évre függesztettek fel. Az egykori tárcavezetőt kenőpénzek elfogadásában és bűnözők segítésének vádjában találták bűnösnek – írja az MTI.
Az országban a felfüggesztett halálbüntetést általában hosszú börtönbüntetésre változtatják, ha úgy ítélik, hogy az elítélt megváltozott. Kínában Hszi Csin-ping elnök 2012-es hatalomra lépésével vette kezdetét a vezető tisztségviselők korrupciója elleni harc, ám bírálói szerint a kampányt Hszi arra is felhasználja, hogy saját ellenfeleivel leszámoljon.

Törökország felülvizsgálja a halálbüntetés eltörléséről szóló 2004-es döntését – közölte szombaton az igazságügyi miniszter, miután Recep Tayyip Erdogan elnök az e heti erdőtüzekkel összefüggésben felvetette a halálbüntetés lehetőségét.
A halálbüntetést Recep Tayyip Erdogan török elnök hivatali idejének első éveiben vették ki az alkotmányból. De miután a szándékos tűzvész 4500 hektárnyi zöld területet pusztított el, Erdogan azt mondta, hogy keményebb igazságszolgáltatásra van szükség.
A hatóságok közölték, hogy az őrizetbe vett gyanúsított vallomása szerint szándékos gyújtogatás okozta a tüzet. A Marmaris üdülőhely közelében lévő erdőben keletkezett lángokat sikerült megfékezni, közölték a hatóságok szombaton.
Miután pénteken meglátogatta a helyszínt, Erdogan azt mondta, hogy az erdőégetésért járó büntetésnek „megfélemlítőnek kell lennie”, az elnök ekkor hozta szóba a halálbüntetést.
Bekir Bozdag igazságügyi miniszter szombaton a keleti Agri városában újságíróknak nyilatkozva azt mondta, hogy „utasításnak tekinti” Erdogan szavait, írja a Reuters.
Bozdag hozzátette, hogy a szándékos gyújtogatás esetében tíz év börtön a maximális büntetés nagysága, ami szervezett bűnözés részeként akár életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre is emelkedhet.
Süleyman Soylu belügyminiszter csütörtökön azt mondta, hogy az őrizetbe vett gyanúsított beismerte, hogy családi problémák miatti frusztrációból gyújtotta fel az erdőt. Vahit Kirisci mezőgazdasági és erdészeti miniszter pedig arról beszélt, hogy a törökországi erdőtüzek 88 százalékát emberek okozzák.

Halálbüntetésre ítélte az észak-kínai Tiencsin egyik középfokú bírósága kedden a Huarong kínai állami vagyonkezelő vállalat korábbi vezetőjét korrupció miatt – jelentette a Hszinhua kínai állami hírügynökség.
Laj Hsziao-min, a pekingi székhelyű Huarong igazgatótanácsának korábbi tagjának őrizetbe vételét 2018 novemberében rendelte el az ügyészség, miután az ügyében az év áprilisában indított vizsgálat során a kínai korrupcióellenes hatóságok megállapították, hogy politikai és a pénzügyi munkára vonatkozó szabályokat is megszegett. Lajt még 2018 októberében kizárták az országot irányító Kínai Kommunista Pártból. Akkori közleményében a Párt fegyelmi bizottsága a lépést azzal indokolta, hogy Laj különböző szabályokat megszegve „vakon bővítette a vállalatot, amelyet rendellenesen működtetett, eltérítve a céget a fő feladataitól és üzleteitől”. A vizsgálat eredménye szerint Laj emellett kenőpénzeket fogadott el, visszaélt a hatalmával, közpénzekből fényűző fogadásokat, családtagjainak pedig üdüléseket szervezett, továbbá pozícióját kihasználva több nővel létesített szexuális kapcsolatot.
Az 1999-ben alapított Huarong Kína négy, állami kézben lévő vagyonkezelő vállalatának legnagyobbika. A céget eredetileg azzal a céllal létesítették, hogy súlyosan kockázatos eszközöket vásároljon reorganizációs céllal, hogy a lehető legnagyobb megtérülést érjék el a nem teljesítő adósságok kezelésére. 2013 és 2018 között azonban a vállalat nyeresége soha nem látott mértékben bővült, miután tevékenységének fókuszába az eredeti cél helyett az került, hogy kockázatos beruházásokon át saját bevételét növelje. A Huarong 2017-es éves jelentése szerint a cég nettó nyeresége 2013-hoz képest több mint 250 százalékkal nőtt. A vállalat vagyonának összértéke pedig 2017-ben elérte az 1,87 ezermilliárd jüant (85 ezermilliárd forint), ami 505 százalékos emelkedést jelentett az öt évvel korábbi állapotról. Az adatok arra is rávilágítottak, hogy a Huarong bevétele szembetűnően növekvő mértékben származott befektetésekből, miközben a kockázatos adósságokból származó vagyon kisebb mértékben nőtt.
A keddi bírósági ítélet szerint Laj összesen 1,78 milliárd jüan (80,7 milliárd forint) értékben fogadott el kenőpénzeket és ajándékokat 2008 és 2018 között, melyekért cserébe a Kínai Bankfelügyeleti Bizottságban és a Huarong vállalatban betöltött pozícióival visszaélve a többi között finanszírozással, projektmegbízásokkal, előléptetésekkel segített egyes szervezeteket és egyéneket. 2009 és 2018 között pedig, másokkal összejátszva összesen 25,12 millió jüan közpénzt sikkasztott el. A bíróság a szigorú ítéletet azzal indokolta, hogy Laj tettei aláásták az ország pénzügyi biztonságát és stabilitását, és különösen káros társadalmi hatást gyakoroltak, jelentős veszteséget okozva az államnak és a lakosságnak.

Négy újságírót halálra ítélt, további hatra börtönbüntetést szabott ki az Irán támogatását élvező, síita lázadók ellenőrzése alatt álló törvényszék – tudatta a SAM nevű jogvédő csoport részéről Tawfiq al-Humeidi.
„Ez nagyon súlyos fejlemény a sajtó és az újságírók szempontjából Jemenben. Folytatják azt a politikát, hogy elhallgattatják ellenfeleiket” – fogalmazott Humeidi.
Az iráni támogatást élvező húszik öt éve vívnak véres polgárháborút a nemzetközileg elismert kormánnyal, amelyet el is üldöztek az országból.
A húszik ellenőrzése alatt álló bíróságok eddig mintegy 150 halálos ítéletet hoztak, de olyan ügyekben, amelyekben a vádlottakat kémkedéssel vádolták, még egyetlen elítéltet sem végeztek ki.
