Legkevesebb 34-en életüket vesztették az indonéziai Nyugat-Szumátra tartományban a heves esők okozta áradásokban, és öt embert eltűntként tartanak nyilván a mentőalakulatok – közölte a tartomány katasztrófavédelmi hatósága vasárnap.
A heves esők következtében hatalmas víztömeg zúdult le a Merapi tűzhányó lejtőjén, és hideg lávafolyammá alakulva elárasztotta Tanah Datar és Agam körzeteket – közölte a katasztrófavédelem. A víz még szombat késő éjjel öntötte el a körzetek falvait, több mint száz lakóházat és embereket sodort el magával.
„Jelenleg 34 halálos áldozatról tudunk, de a mentőakció folytatásával ez a szám tovább emelkedhet” – közölte a katasztrófavédelem vezetője a Hszinhua hírügynökséggel, hozzátéve, hogy legalább öt embert még mindig keresnek.
A katasztrófavédelem szóvivője elmondta, hogy információs központokat állítottak fel az eltűntek keresésére. Az áradásokban megsérült tizenhat embert kórházba kellett szállítani – tette hozzá.
Két hónappal korábban Nyugat-Szumátra tartományban legkevesebb 19-en vesztették életüket a heves esők hatására kialakult áradásokban és földcsuszamlásokban, több mint 70 ezer embert pedig evakuálni kellett a környékről. A tartomány fővárosában, Padangban és nyolc másik körzetben csaknem hétszáz ház semmisült meg, hidak omlottak össze, és a víz mintegy 113 hektárnyi termőföldet is elöntött.
A Merapi tűzhányó legutóbb januárban tört ki, akkor mintegy 1,3 kilométer magasságba lövellt fel hamut és füstöt, de halálos áldozatokat nem követelt. A vulkán ezt megelőzőn decemberben is kitört, akkor 23-an haltak meg a katasztrófában.

Áradást okozott Dubajban a heves esőzés, a Dubaji nemzetközi repülőtéren akkora víz áll, hogy felfüggesztették az érkező járatok fogadását, azokat más reptereket irányítják át – írja a Reuters. Az induló járatok ugyanakkor továbbra is menetrendszerűen szállnak fel.
Az özönvízszerű jelenetekről videó is készült, az Al Arabiya az egyik, a repteren álló repülőgépről készített felvételt tett közzé. Ezen látszik, hogy még az induló járatoknak is nehezére esik a mély vízben haladni.
A közel-keleti országban egy nap alatt több eső esett, mint máskor egy év alatt – erről az APírt. A vihar miatt az iskolák többségét bezárták az országban, a portál szerint legalább 18-an meghaltak a szélsőséges időjárás következtében.

A hatóságok a helyi sajtó közlése szerint veszélyhelyzetet hirdettek Carevo városának térségében a Veleka folyó áradása miatt, és arra szólították fel a helyieket, hogy lehetőleg magasabban fekvő térségekben keressenek menedéket.

Emberek ezreit evakuálták a napok óta tartó özönvízszerű esőzések miatt Dél-Koreában, halottak is vannak.
A dél-koreai hatóságok arról számoltak be, hogy eddig heten vesztették életüket a napok óta tartó özönvízszerű esőzésekben. Szintén hét sérültről tudni, illetve három személyt eltűntként tartanak nyilván.
Ezrével evakuálták az embereket Dél-Koreában, miután harmadik napja szakad az eső, mely földcsuszamlásokat okozott, és egy gátat is átszakított. Több mint 7000 olyan emberről jelentettek, akiket evakuálni kellett az érintett területekről.
Helyi idő szerint reggel 9 órakor másodpercenként több mint 2700 tonna víz ömlött a Goesan-gátba, ami egyúttal a gát által kibocsátott maximális vízmennyiség. A CNA azt írja, hogy Korea Railroad Corp. bejelentette, leállítja az összes lassú vonatot és néhány gyorsvonatot is, míg más gyorsvonatok a lassabb haladás miatt késhetnek, mivel a földcsuszamlások, a pálya elárasztása és a lezuhanó kövek veszélyeztetik a biztonságot.
Egy lassú vonat pénteken késő este kisiklott, amikor a földcsuszamlás földet és homokot sodord a sínekre. A mozdonyvezető megsérült, utasok viszont nem tartózkodtak a vonaton, így tragédia nem történt.

Szerte a világon pusztít az időjárás, Brazíliát sem kerülik el a viharok, a nagy esőzések, amik már többek életébe kerültek.
Kínában is lecsapott a hőhullám, akárcsak Mexikóban, ahol egyre több halálos áldozatról jelentenek. India egyes részein hasonló a helyzet, többségében idősek hunytak el a hőhullám következtében.
Az Egyesült Államokban is küszködnek, miután a tornádók után erős hőhullám alakult ki, néhol közel 50°C-os hőmérséklettel. Brazíliában a heves esőzések miatt eddig legkevesebb 11 áldozatról tudni, akiken már nem lehetett segíteni.
A dél-brazil Rio Grande do Sul államot pénteken érte el az özönvízszerű esőzés, ami legkevesebb 11 ember életébe került. Mintegy 20 embert eltűntként tartottak nyilván, mely miatt a hatóságok helikopteres keresést és mentést indítottak a vízzel elárasztott városrészekben.
Évek óta sokan halnak meg Brazíliában az áradások miatt Egyes területeken földcsuszamlásra figyelmeztettek a hatóságok, ami szintén életveszélyes. Rövid időn belül rengeteg csapadék esett, az utcákat teljesen elöntötte a víz, és az aszfalt egy része elmosódott.
A sok eső a gazdaságra is veszélyes, miközben ezrek keresnek menedéket a vihar miatt. A The Straits Times a New York Times-ra hivatkozva számolt be arról, hogy Sapiranga városában még egy egészségügyi központ is víz alá került, ami miatt a tűzoltóknak kellett kimenekíteniük a betegeket.
Az elmúlt években sokan vesztették életüket Brazíliában az áradások miatt. 2020-ban több mint 18 ezren voltak kénytelenek elhagyni az otthonaikat a délkeleti régióban, míg 47-en meghaltak az áradások miatt.
