A hatalmas árvíz sújtotta kelet-líbiai Dernába majd egy héttel a katasztrófa után nagyon kevés az esélye annak, hogy túlélőket találnak, a Daniel nevű vihar hétfőre virradóra csapott le a százezer lakosú Dernára, két gát átszakadt, aminek következtében szökőárral felérő víztömeg árasztotta el a városon átívelő völgyet. A víztömeg mindent elsodort, ami az útjába került, több ezren haltak meg a természeti csapásban.







Szombatra virradó éjjel a kelet-líbiai kormány egészségügy-minisztere, Otman Abdel-Dzsalíl 3166 halottról számolt be. Az áldozatok számáról megjelent különböző adatok kapcsán a miniszter hangsúlyozta, hogy csak az ő tárcája illetékes a halottak számát közölni, amelyet a jövőben naponta frissítenek és közölnek.



Az Egészségügyi Világszervezet (WHO) szombati közleménye szerint 3958 ember holttestét találták meg és azonosították, és több mint 9000 ember eltűnt.



A tájékoztatás szerint a nemzetközi segítség továbbra is jelentős: szombaton egy egyesült arab emírségekbeli és egy iráni repülőgép érkezett Bengázi repülőterére, ahol több tonnányi segélyszállítmányt rakodtak át kamionokba, hogy a 300 kilométerrel keletebbre fekvő Dernába szállítsák. Egy olasz hajó is érkezett a dernai partok közelébe egyebek mellett sátrakkal, takarókkal, vízszivattyúkkal, két helikopterrel és buldózerekkel. Szaúd-Arábia és Kuvait több tonnás segélyszállítmánya – élelmiszerekkel és orvosi felszerelésekkel – szintén megérkezett az ország keleti részébe. Két francia repülőgép tábori kórházat szállított a katasztrófa sújtotta város közelébe.



A WHO bejelentette, hogy 29 tonna, közel 250 ezer ember ellátásához elegendő orvosi felszerelést küldött dubaji elosztó központjából, amely megérkezett Bengáziba.



Manoelle Carton, az Orvosok Határok Nélkül (MSF) nemzetközi segélyszervezet koordinátora, aki két napja érkezett meg Dernába, elmondta, hogy kaotikus a helyzet, ami akadályozza az áldozatok pontos számbavételét és azonosítását.

Uszama Hamad, a kelet-líbiai kormány vezetője bejelentette, hogy szombattól csak a líbiai és külföldi mentőcsoportok és a nyomozók léphetnek be Dernába.



Al-Szeddik al-Szúr líbiai főügyész, aki vizsgálatot indított, szombaton közölte, hogy a két átszakadt gáton 1998 óta repedések voltak. A 2010-ben egy török cég által több évi késlekedés miatt megkezdett munkák a 2011. évi forradalom miatt abbamaradtak, és azóta sem folytatódtak – mondta a főügyész, aki szigorú elbánást ígért a felelősökkel szemben.

Akár a húszezret is elérheti a líbiai Dernát sújtó áradás halálos áldozatainak száma – közölte csütörtök reggel a város polgármestere.
„Arra számítunk, hogy nagyon magas lesz az áldozatok száma. A Dernában elpusztult körzetek állapota alapján 18-20 ezer halott is lehet” – közölte Abdel-Monejm al-Gejti, a város polgármestere az al-Arabia televíziónak adott interjúban.



A Daniel névre keresztelt vihar múlt hét vasárnap érte el az észak-afrikai országot.



A Derna közelében lecsapó heves viharban két gát átszakadt, a lezúduló nagy mennyiségű víz pedig egész városrészeket tett a földdel egyenlővé a százezer lakosú tengerparti városban, az ország keleti részén.



A Nemzetközi Migrációs Szervezet (IOM) líbiai szervezete a korábban Twitterként ismert X közösségi oldalon közölte, hogy legalább 30 ezer ember kényszerült lakhelye elhagyására Dernában. Derna mellett a Daniel vihar Bejdán, al-Mardzson, és Saháton is átsöpört. Az ENSZ Humanitárius Ügyeket Koordináló Irodája (OCHA) legkevesebb öt-, a helyi hatóságok tízezerre becsülik az eltűntek számát.



„Most minél több emberre van szükségünk, akik átlátják a kialakult helyzetet. Logisztikai segítségre és kutyákra van szükségünk, amelyek kiszimatolják az embereket és kihúzzák őket a romok alól. Humanitárius segítségre, emberekre van szükségünk, akik tudják mit kell tenni” – mondta az egyik Derna közeli kórházban dolgozó líbiai orvos a BBC angol közszolgálati televíziónak nyilatkozva.



Dernába érkezett az Orvosok Határok Nélkül szervezet logisztikai és orvosi személyzetből álló mentőcsapata is.
Egyiptom, Tunézia, az Egyesült Államok, Törökország és Katar is küldött mentőalakulatokat. Szakértők időközben lehetséges járványveszélyre figyelmeztetnek.



Szerda este elindultak az első segélyszállítmányok Németországból is, ahonnan a többi között 100 sátrat, 1000 összecsukható ágyat és matracot, valamint 80 aggregátort szállítanak a rászorulóknak.

Legalább 150 ember meghalt a Daniel vihar által okozott áradások miatt Líbia keleti részén, Dernában, Dzsabal el-Ahdar tartományban és al-Mardzs külvárosában – mondta az AFP francia hírügynökségnek Mohamed Maszúd, a bengázi székhelyű párhuzamos végrehajtó hatalom vezetőjének szóvivője. Korábban 25 halottról számoltak be az illetékesek.



A tripoli kormány ügyvezető miniszterelnöke, Abdulhamid Mohammed Dbeibah vasárnap bejelentette, hogy az állami intézményeket a károk és az áradások miatt a keleti városokban kialakult helyzet sürgős kezelésére utasította.



A Daniel vihar, amely a múlt héten Görögországra, Törökországra és Bulgáriára is lecsapott, több líbiai nagyvároson, köztük Bengázin, Beidán, al-Mardzson és Dernán is átsöpört. A még hétfőn is tomboló vihar miatt a hatóságok vészhelyzetet jelentettek be, az iskolák és a boltok bezártak, kijárási tilalom lépett életbe.



Líbia négy nagy olajkikötőjét – Rász-el-Unúf, ez-Zuveitína, Brega és esz-Szidr kikötőit – már szombat estétől három napra lezárták. Az ENSZ líbiai kirendeltsége közölte, hogy sürgős segélyt biztosítanak a helyi és országos mentési munkálatok támogatására.



A líbiai kormányhadsereg szóvivőjének közlése szerint hét katona eltűnt.

A nyugat-líbiai sürgősségi szolgálatot irányító ügynökség, a Sürgősségi Orvosi Központ (CMU) kedd este feltett tájékoztatásában arról számolt be, hogy 27 ember meghalt és 106 megsebesült a líbiai fővárosban kitört harcokban.



Ugyanezen forrás szerint 234 családot kimenekítettek, köztük számos külföldi orvost és ápolót, akik hétfő este óta rekedtek a fővárostól délre az ott zajló harcok miatt.



Három tábori kórházat és mintegy hatvan mentőautót vezényeltek a helyszínre, hogy biztonságos területre evakuálják a sebesülteket és a civileket.



A harcok azt követően kezdődtek, hogy hétfőn a rendőrség szerepét is betöltő Különleges Elrettentő Erők (ar-Rada Erők) fegyveresei őrizetbe vették a 444-es Brigád nevű milíciát vezető Mahmúd Hamza ezredest. Letartóztatásának okairól egyelőre nem adtak tájékoztatást.



Kedden késő este a neves és befolyásos személyiségekből álló társadalmi tanács bejelentette, hogy megállapodásra jutott a tripoli székhelyű kormány vezetőjével, Abdulhamid Mohammed Dbeibahhal, hogy Hamza ezredest átadják egy „semleges félnek”, anélkül, hogy megnevezte volna azt.



A televízióban a tanács vezetője felolvasott egy nyilatkozatot, amelyben jelezte, hogy az intézkedést az erőszak fokozatos csökkentése és tűzszünet követi majd, aminek következtében kedd este ismét nyugalom honolt Tripoliban.



A líbiai főváros délkeleti elővárosainak több szektorában hétfő este heves harcok törtek ki és folytak kedd estig a 444-es Brigád és az ar-Rada Erők között, az összecsapások lakott területekre is kiterjedtek.



Ez a két csoport a legbefolyásosabbak közé tartozik Tripoliban, ahol a két kormány közül az egyik a hatalomért küzdő kormánynak ad otthont egy olyan országban, amelyet Moammer Kadhafi líbiai diktátor rezsimjének 2011-es bukása óta gyakorlatilag több részre szakított a megosztottság.

Mindazonáltal közölték, hogy a munkálatok lezárultával helyreállítják a szolgáltatást. Egyelőre nem tudni, hogy a közelebbről nem meghatározott kísérletek, amelyekben a német Siemens konszern is részt vesz, meddig tartanak.

Előkerült a hét elején eltűnt 2,5 tonna uránérc Csád határának közelében – írja a BBC News.



Ahogy arról már korábban beszámoltunk tíz uránércet tartalmazó hordó, azaz 2,5 tonna urán tűnt el egy líbiai telephelyről.



Az uránércet tartalmazó tíz hordót Csád határának közelében találták meg.



A Nemzetközi Atomenergia-ügynökség (NAÜ) ellenőrei a hét elején tettek látogatást a helyszínen.







Ez a telephely olyan területen található, amely nincs a kormány ellenőrzése alatt.



2003 decemberében Líbia nyilvánosan lemondott a nukleáris, biológiai és vegyi fegyverekről.



Mióta azonban Líbia korábbi vezetőjét leváltották, az országot egymással versengő politikai és katonai frakciók osztják meg és egyikük sem ellenőrzi a déli területeket, ahonnan az urániumot elvitték.



A NAÜ szerint a helyszínt az utóbbi időben nehéz volt megközelíteni.



Az ellenőrök már tavaly is szerették volna felkeresni a területet, de az itt zajló líbiai milíciák harcai miatt kénytelenek voltak elhalasztani.

Az ENSZ atomenergia-felügyeleti szervének ellenőrei megállapították, hogy nagyjából 2,5 tonna természetes urán hiányzik egy líbiai telephelyről, amely nem áll a kormány ellenőrzése alatt.



A Nemzetközi Atomenergia-ügynökség (NAÜ) ellenőrei megállapították, hogy legalább 10 hordó tűnt el. Az ügynökség megkezdte az eset kivizsgálását, de egyelőre nem tudni, kik lehettek az elkövetők, és hol lehetnek a hordók.







„A nukleáris anyag jelenlegi helyére vonatkozó ismeretek hiánya radiológiai kockázatot jelenthet, valamint felveti a nukleáris biztonsági aggályokat” – áll a NAÜ közleményében, hozzátéve, hogy a helyszín megközelítése „összetett logisztikát” igényel.



2003-ban Líbia lemondott nukleáris fegyverprogramjáról. Az ország korábban rendelkezett az atombomba elkészítéséhez szükséges információkkal, de a gyártásra vonatkozó lépések elmaradtak, írja a Reuters.



Líbiában azóta nincs béke, hogy 2011-ben a NATO által támogatott felkelés megdöntötte Moammer Kadhafi hatalmát. A politikai irányítás 2014 óta megoszlik a rivális keleti és nyugati frakciók között, a legutóbbi nagyobb konfliktus 2020-ban ért véget.



Líbia ideiglenes kormánya, amelyet 2021 elején állítottak fel egy ENSZ által támogatott béketerv révén, csak az ugyanezen év decemberére tervezett választásokig tartott volna, amelyeket még mindig nem tartottak meg, és most már a legitimitását is vitatják.

Az üzemanyagot szállító tartálykocsi épp egy kisvárosi töltőállomás feltöltésre tartott az ország délnyugati részében, amikor közlekedési balesetet szenvedett. A baleset miatt vissza akart fordulni a telephelyére, ám akkor több tucat üzemanyagra várakozó helyi autós vette körül – benzinváráslás céljából. Lökdösődés alakult ki, majd nem sokkal később a tartály – egyelőre tisztázatlan okból – kigyulladt és felrobbant. A tűz gyorsan átterjedt a közelben parkoló több autóra is – írja az MTI.



A balesetben legalább hatan meghaltak – közölte az AFP-vel a helyszíntől mintegy száz kilométerre lévő város kórháza, ahová a sérülteket szállították. A több mint ötven sérültet a szebhai kórházban ápolják az intézmény igazgatója szerint, aki nem ismertette a halottak számát. A Tripoliban tevékenykedő nemzeti egységkormány válságstábot állított fel az eset kivizsgálására.



A több mint tíz éve polgárháború által sújtott észak-afrikai ország 2014-ben két részre szakadt, déli részén pedig azóta komoly üzemanyaghiány tapasztalható. A helyi lakosok csak többórás várakozások árán juthatnak üzemanyaghoz, sokszor azonban még úgy se.

Az erőszakos cselekmények miatt néhány órára felfüggesztették a tripoli Mitiga nemzetközi repülőtér működését is.



Az Öböl-menti Együttműködési Tanács (GCC) a héten már felszólította a szembenálló feleket, hogy tartsák be a tűzszünetet, csökkentsék a feszültséget, és helyezzék a nemzet érdekeit a politikai csatározások fölé. A Tanács egyúttal sürgette az összes külföldi zsoldos azonnali kivonását Líbiából, valamint állást foglalt a választások mihamarabbi megtartása mellett.



A líbiai fővárosban – viszonylagos nyugalom után – május közepén, robbantak ki összecsapások, miután a tobruki, párhuzamos törvényhozás által februárban miniszterelnökké választott Fathi Basaga és több minisztere bejelentette érkezését a fővárosba. A harcok hatására Basaga távozott Tripoliból.



Líbiában 2011-ben buktatták meg az évtizedeken át teljhatalommal uralkodó Moammer Kadhafit, a puccs után azonban az ország káoszba süllyedt, és 2014-től gyakorlatilag két részre szakadt. Az elnökválasztást decemberben, a parlamenti választásokat pedig januárban tartották volna, de Tripoli mindkettőt elhalasztotta, arra hivatkozva, hogy a rivális frakciók nem egyeztek meg a részletekben. A tobruki törvényhozás ezt követően vette saját kezébe az irányítást, és bejelentette, hogy Abdul Hamid Dbeibah tripoli kormányának megbízatása lejárt, függetlenül attól, hogy a választásokat nem tartották meg.

A Líbiai partszakasz az afrikai és ázsiai migránsok kulcsfontosságú kiindulópontja, ahonnan Európába próbálnak menekülni a hazájukban uralkodó szörnyű körülmények elől. Gyakran túlzsúfolt, tengerre alkalmatlan hajókon indulnak útra, amelyek sokszor elsüllyednek vagy bajba kerülnek – számolt be az Al Jazeera.



A Nemzetközi Migrációs Szervezet jelentése szerint a tragédia csak néhány nappal azután történt, hogy egy hét leforgása alatt 160 migráns veszítette volna életét hasonló incidensek során, ezzel 1500-ra növelve az idei áldozatok számát. Ugyanebben az időszakban több, mint 30 000 migránst fogtak el, és küldtek vissza Líbiába.

Az EU szorosan együttműködik a líbiai parti őrséggel annak érdekében, hogy csökkentse az Európába érkező migránsok számát. Azoknak, akiket visszaküldenek, gyakran szörnyű visszaélésekkel kell szembenézniük hazájukban.
