Egy férfi fejszével próbált meg bejutni a szlovák parlament épületébe – tette közzé elsőnként az incidensről készült felvételeket Ján Marosz, az OĽaNO volt parlamenti képviselője.
Marosz a Facebook-bejegyzésben azt írta, a biztonsági őrök gyors intézkedésének köszönhetően sikerült megállítani a fiút.
Az esetről Boris Kollár (Sme rodina) házelnök is tájékoztatott.
„Történt egy támadás, felvételről láttam. Az illetőt ártalmatlanították, és már elvitték a rendőrök. Fejszével és bajonettel akart berontani az épületbe” – közölte Kollár. Hozzátette: a biztonsági őrök észrevettek egy gyanús személyt, aki az épületbe való belépés előtt kivett a táskájából egy fejszét. „Azonnal reagáltak” – mondta a házelnök, aki köszönetet mondott az alkalmazottaknak az elvégzett munkáért.
Michaela Jurcová, a parlamenti iroda sajtóosztályának igazgatója hozzátette: az incidens 16:00 körül történt. „A támadót a parlament biztonsági őrei ártalmatlanították, majd az illetőt átvették a rendőrök. Az incidens során senki sem sérült meg” – fűzte hozzá.

A zágrábi Szent Márk téren a kormány épülete előtt gépfegyverből nyitott tüzet egy férfi, az őrt álló egyik rendőr a lövésektől megsebesült – jelentette a horvát közszolgálati televíziós (HRT).
A támadó aztán elmenekült a helyszínről – ahol a parlament, az alkotmánybíróság épülete is található –, ám a rendőrség később azt közölte, hogy a férfi öngyilkosságot követett el. A sebesült 31 éves rendőrt több lőtt sebbel szállították kórházba, de orvosai szerint állapota stabil, már megműtötték. A rendőrön golyóálló mellény volt. A croatiaweek.com azt írja, hogy a rendőr bal karját, illetve a törzsének mindkét oldalát érték lövések.
Az elkövető először a Szent Márk-templom bejáratát kezdte lőni, majd a parlament épületét, utána futott el.
A miniszterelnök nem volt a kormány épületében, szemtanúk szerint a parlament épületét azonban pánikszerűen hagyták el képviselők.
Sajtóhírek szerint a fegyveres gyalog érkezett a térre, ahol elkezdett lövöldözni, majd futva elmenekült a helyszínről. A rendőrök egy kilométerrel odébb találták meg a holttestét, végzett magával.
Közzétettek egy videót is, ahogy elszállítják a sérült rendőrt.
A total-croatia-news.com azt írja, hogy a támadás nem sokkal reggel nyolc után történt. Néhány médium arról számolt be, hogy a támadó egy múzeumban rejtőzött el, de kilenc órára már halott volt. Meg nem erősített információk szerint Kalasnyikovval lövöldözött.
A horvát miniszterelnök megérkezett azóta a kormányzati épületbe, érkezésekor állítólag megehetősen le volt taglózva.
Ez egy meglehetősen szokatlan fegyveres támadás a város legjobban őrzött részén – írja a híroldal.
A zágrábi parlament minden látogatást és találkozót törölt a mai napra.
„Ez egy gyilkossági kísérlet volt, és az elkövető nem sokkal a támadás után öngyilkoss lett. A rendőrség mindent meg fog tenni annak érdekében, hogy kiderítse, hogyan történt, milyen indíték lehet mögötte. A sebesült rendőrnek mielőbbi gyógyulást kívánunk” – nyilatkozta Andrej Plenkovic miniszterelnök.
Azt is elmondta kérdésre válaszolva, hogy fokozni fogják a biztonsági intézkedéseket a Szent Márk téren.
