Fotó: Ibraheem Abu Mustafa/Reuters Izrael és a Hamász egy hosszú tárgyalási folyamat után szerdán kötött egy egyezséget, amelynek értelmében foglyokat cserélnek, valamint minimum négy napra humanitárius célú tűzszünetet kötnek a felek.
A tűzszünet helyi idő szerint péntek reggel 7 órakor életbe is lépett a korábbi megállapodásnak megfelelően. Az izraeli kormányzat még csütörtökön közölte, hogy kaptak egy listát arról, hogy ki lesz az első 13 túsz, akit elengednek.
Az izraeli túszok első csoportja helyi idő szerint péntek délután fél 4-kor már a Vöröskereszt Nemzetközi Bizottságának munkatársaival voltak, és mentőautókban ülve még 4 óra előtt megérkeztek Egyiptomba – közölte a The Times of Israel egy izraeli tisztviselő jelentésére hivatkozva.
Az elengedett tizenhárom édesanya és gyermek az első csoportja a négy, szabadon engedésre kiválasztott túszok szakaszából, akiket a Hamász 49 napig tartott fogva Gázában.
A Times of Israel a Haaretz információira hivatkozva arról is beszámolt, hogy a Hamász által korábban szabadon engedett 12 thaiföldi túsz is elhagyta Izraelt.
