A híd a Kenilworth Avenue és a Polk Street sarkán omlott össze – közölte a hivatal egy tweetben. Négy embert kórházba szállítottak, de nem érkezett jelentés arról, hogy bárki is beszorult volna a törmelékek közé – írja a CNN.
A DC Fire and EMS által közzétett képeken látható, hogy a híd szétroncsolt beton- és fémdarabjai szétterültek az autópálya mind a hat sávján, és több jármű tetejére is ráestek.
Egy vegyvédelmi egység is kivonult a helyszínre, amely egy részben a híd alatt álló teherautóból szivárgó dízelüzemanyag szivárgását mérsékelte, de legalább egy másik járművet is eltaláltak a törmelékek, közölte a DC Fire and EMS.
