Egy dél-koreai katona véletlenül lőtt géppuskával Észak-Korea irányába a múlt héten, számolt be a Yonhap.
Ismertté vált, hogy az incidens múlt héten szerdán reggel 6 óra körül történt egy megfigyelőállásnál a két Koreát elválasztó Cheorwon megyei demilitarizált zónában, Szöultól 70 kilométerre északra.
A dél-koreai hadsereg jelentése szerint katonájuk tévedésből adott le egyetlen lövést egy K6-os nehézgéppuskából. A dél-koreai fél rádióadásban üzenetet küldött az Észak-Koreai Népi Demokratikus Köztársaságnak, hangsúlyozva, hogy a lövés nem volt szándékos.
Ugyanakkor a golyó nem érte el Észak-Korea területét – egy megerősített ajtón haladt át, ami valószínűleg lelassította a mozgását.
A dél-koreai hadsereg közölte, hogy egyelőre nem észleltek semmilyen szokatlan mozgást vagy tevékenységet az észak-koreai csapatok részéről.

A vámhivatal 632,1 millió euróra becsüli az elkobzott rakomány értékét. Ez a szállítmány tömege szerint jelentősen meghaladja Dél-Korea korábbi rekordját – azt a 404 kilogramm metamfetamint, amelyet 2021-ben fedeztek fel.

A dél-koreai hatóságok vizsgálatot indítottak egy férfi ellen, akit az ország történetének legsúlyosabb erdőtüzének okozásával gyanúsítanak. A rendőrség szerint a férfi március 22-én tüzet gyújthatott nagyszülei sírjának gondozása közben, ahonnan a lángok továbbterjedtek, súlyos pusztítást okozva Dél-Korea délkeleti részén – számolt be a Liner.hu
Az eddigi adatok alapján legkevesebb 27 ember vesztette életét, további 32-en pedig megsérültek a napok óta tomboló erdőtűz következtében. A lángok az első bejelentések szerint március 21-én csaptak fel Szacshon megyében, mintegy 250 kilométerre Szöultól, s azóta több mint 35 ezer hektárnyi területet perzseltek fel.

A tűz rendkívül gyorsan terjedt, amit a térségben uralkodó száraz időjárás és az erős szél is elősegített. Az elmúlt hónapokban jelentősen kevesebb csapadék hullott, mint az év ezen időszakában szokásos, így az erdők rendkívül gyúlékony állapotban voltak.
A Guardian jelentése szerint a nyomozás során a hatóságok helyszíni szemlét végeztek, s úgy tudni, arra készülnek, hogy beidézzék a feltételezett elkövetőt egy kihallgatásra. A férfi lánya a nyomozóknak azt állította, hogy apja egy szivargyújtóval próbálta eltávolítani a sírokra lógó faágakat, de a rendőrség ezt az információt egyelőre nem erősítette meg.
A lángok már számos épületet és történelmi jelentőségű emlékhelyet, temlomot is elpusztítottak, a hatóságok pedig több ezer embert evakuáltak az érintett településekről. Legutóbb arról számoltunk be, hogy oltás közben zuhant le egy tűzoltó helikopter.
