A legfrissebb földrajzi helymeghatározási adatok szerint az orosz csapatok valószínűleg elfoglalták Vuhledart, de ez nem valószínű, hogy alapjaiban megváltoztatja az ellenség Donyeck térségében folytatott offenzívájának a menetét – számolt be szerdán az rbc.ua hírportál, az amerikai Háborús Tanulmányok Intézetének (ISW) jelentésére hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint az intézet elemzői azt írták, hogy egyes orosz katonai szakértők jelezték, hogy nem számítanak a frontvonal összeomlására Vuhledar elfoglalása után, hivatkozva az ukrán védelmi állásokra Vuhledartól északkeletre, és arra, hogy az orosz erőknek teljesen meg kell tisztítaniuk Vuhledart, hogy alkalmassá tegyék azt új támadások indítására.
Az egyik Kremlhez köthető blogger megpróbálta úgy bemutatni Vuhledart, mint „az utolsó ukrán várost a dél-donyecki irányban, amely „a teljes ukrán védelmet” tartja a donyecki régió nyugati részén. Egy másik, Kremlhez köthető katonai tisztviselő bírált egy hasonló véleményt, amely szerint Vuhledar orosz elfoglalása az ukrán védelem megsemmisüléséhez vezetne a donyecki régióban, és lehetővé tenné az orosz csapatok előrenyomulását Kramatorszkba és Szlovjanszkba (mindkettő körülbelül 170 km-re északkeletre van Vuhledartól) Kurahovo és Pokrovszk elfoglalása után. A blogger megjegyezte, hogy ez az érvelés nem veszi figyelembe azt a tényt, hogy az oroszoknak olyan jól megerősített településeken kell átverekedniük magukat Vuhledartól messze északra és északkeletre, mint például Kosztyantinivka, Dobropillja, Pokrovszk, Szelidovo, Kurahove, Szlovjanszk és Kramatorszk.
Az ISW becslése szerint nem valószínű, hogy Vuhledar orosz elfoglalása alapjaiban változtatja meg a Donyeck megye nyugati részén végrehajtott offenzív hadműveletek menetét. Szerdán hat ember vesztette életét több orosz támadás következtében a kelet-ukrajnai Donyeck térségében – közölte a regionális kormányzó.
Vadim Filaskin a Telegramon azt közölte: ,,Reggel az oroszok megöltek négy embert, és leromboltak egy házat Izmajlivkában„, a frontvonalhoz nagyon közel fekvő faluban. A helyi ügyész tájékoztatása szerint a csapás áldozatai egy családból valók voltak, két szülő és 17 és 24 éves gyermekeik.
A kormányzó hozzátette, hogy egy másik támadásban két ember halt meg a megerősített védelmű Csasziv Jar település közelében. Ukrajna nemrégiben nagyszabású evakuálásokat rendelt el az orosz katonák Pokrovszk felé történő előrenyomulása miatt, amelyet Oroszország el akar foglalni.
Volodimir Zelenszkij elnök hétfőn azt mondta, hogy ez a szektor „a legnehezebb” és „a legfontosabb”, amelyre az orosz támadások döntő többsége zúdul.

Újabb evakuálásokat rendeltek el hétfőn az ukrán hatóságok a donyecki régióban.
Vadim Filaskin, Donyeck megye ukrán kormányzója közölte, hogy az egyre romló biztonsági helyzet miatt kiszélesítették a kényszerevakuálás hatálya alá eső övezetet, amelyet a gyerekeknek szüleikkel, illetve a gondozásukat ellátó személyekkel el kell hagyniuk.
Összesen 27 települést soroltak fel a Pokrovszk mellett fekvő Szelidove és Kosztyantinivka térségében. Nem sokkal korábban az orosz csapatok előretörése miatt már elrendelték falvak kiürítését Pokrovszk környékén.
Az ukrán hatóságok mindemellett többször panaszkodtak arra, hogy a felszólítások ellenére az emberek, főként az idős lakosok nem hajlandók elhagyni otthonaikat.
Ismételten hangsúlyozom: az egyetlen helyes döntés a civilek számára az evakuálás! Az evakuálás életeket ment! – hívta fel a figyelmet Filaskin.
Szerhij Dobrjak, Pokrovszk katonai közigazgatásának vezetője az ukrán Szabadság Rádiónak nyilatkozva augusztus 19-én arról számolt be, hogy a civileknek legfeljebb két hetük van elhagyni a várost az orosz csapatok előrenyomulása közepette.

A jelentés szerint Volosin elmondta, hogy a megszállók szinte mindent elpusztítottak Urozsajneban, ezért a fegyveres erők más állásokba vonultak vissza. „Döntés született, hogy megóvjuk az ott védekező katonáink életét és egészségét” – mutatott rá.
A szóvivő az rbc.ua hírportál érdeklődésére is megerősítette, hogy Urozsajne falu területén a taktikai helyzet úgy alakult, hogy lehetetlenné vált az ukrán védők számára az állásaik megtartása. „Az ellenség, hogy az általa elpusztított településeken, falvakban sikereket és valamilyen győzelmet érjen el, naponta jelentős veszteségeket szenved el, csak száznál többet ölnek meg belőle, és az eredmény egy elpusztult település, körülötte egy orosz katonák holttesteinek a kupacai, akik nem térnek vissza hazájukba” – jegyezte meg Nazar Volosin.

A jelentés szerint Filaskin elmondta: „Csasziv Jar szinte teljesen elpusztult. Sajnos 679 lakos maradt, akik nem akarnak elmenni. Napról napra egyre nehezebb a humanitárius segélyek szállítása, mert a városba vezető összes utat teljesen szétlőtte az ellenség.”
A katonai kormányzó szerint a rendőri egységek, a mentők és a nemzetközi partnerek csak reggel vagy késő este tudnak humanitárius és egészségügyi segítséget nyújtani az embereknek. „Körülbelül ezer ember maradt a krasznohorszki közösségben, akinek nincs különösebb szándéka a távozásra, de az összes gyereket elvittük a frontvonalból” – mutatott rá Vadim Filaskin.
