 Összesen öt orosz hajó teljesít szolgálatot a Fekete-tengeren, egy másik pedig az Azovi-tengeren.
 A Fekete-tengeren már régóta nem észlelték ellenséges rakétahordozók jelenlétét.
 Az Azovi-tengeren általában egy egység teljesít szolgálatot, amely a felszíni helyzetet és a Kercsi-szorost ellenőrzi. A Fekete-tengeren többnyire a szokásos járőrözést és a támaszpontok védelmét figyelték meg.

 Abdulkadir Uraloglu közlekedési és infrastrukturális miniszter közlése szerint a Kafkametler nevű hajó a nyugat-törökországi Izmir kikötőjébe tartott, amikor a régióban kialakult heves viharok következtében többször nekicsapódott egy hullámtörőnek az Isztambultól mintegy 200 kilométerre keletre fekvő Eregli város kikötőjének közelében.
 A szerencsétlenséget megelőzően, vasárnap reggel a hajó kapitánya már jelentette, hogy egy hullámtörő felé sodródik, ám a Törökország északnyugati részére aznap lecsapó heves viharok miatt több órán át nem tudták megkezdeni a kutatást és a mentést – tette hozzá.
  
 
 A zord időjárásban egy másik teherhajó is felborult a Fekete-tenger törökországi partjainál, valamint evakuálni kellett egy török börtönt.
 A Pallada nevű, kameruni zászló alatt közlekedő hajót szintén Eregli kikötőjének közelében érte baleset: az ötméteres hullámokban a hajó zátonyra futott és kettétört – közölte a török tengerészeti igazgatóság, hozzáfűzve, hogy a legénység mind a 13 tagját kimentették.
 Yilmaz Tunc török igazságügy-miniszter arról számolt be, hogy az Eregli börtönét is fenyegető vízszintemelkedés miatt a rabokat a környező létesítményekbe szállították a fegyintézetből.
 A délkelet-törökországi Diyarbakir és Batman tartományban vasárnap négy ember vesztette életét, ötvenen pedig megsérültek a heves esőzések okozta áradásokban.
 A szomszédos Bulgáriában az orkánerejű szél, a heves esőzések és a havazás két ember életét követelte aznap. A hatóságok szükségállapotot hirdettek a Fekete-tenger partján fekvő Várnában.

 A bolgár védelmi minisztérium hétfőn közölte, hogy különleges egységet küldött a helyszínre, hogy hatástalanítsa a drónra szerelt aknát, amelyre vasárnap este bukkantak a tengerpart közelében húzódó a sziklákon. Nem tudni, hogy a drón a levegőből esett le, vagy a tenger sodorta partra.
 Tyulenovo a román határtól 70 kilométerre délre fekszik, a Krím félszigettel szemközti fekete-tengeri partvidéken. Marian Zsecsev, a Tyulenovót magában foglaló Sabla város polgármestere a bolgár Nova TV-nek elmondta, hogy vasárnap éjjel, röviddel 22 óra után, helyi lakosoktól kapták a jelzést a drónról a 112-es rendőrségi hívószámon.

 A rendőrség lezárta a területet, a közeli szálloda mintegy 30 vendégét evakuálta, és megtiltotta az éttermek és teraszok látogatását. A Nova.bg internetes oldal szemtanúkra hivatkozva azt írta, hogy a drón 3-3,5 méter hosszú volt, és egy tartály volt ráerősítve az aknagránáttal.  Azt nem taglalják, pontosan mi volt ez az intézkedés, sem azt, hogy mennyire volt valós annak a veszélye, hogy az amerikai drón behatol az orosz légtérbe.
 Az oroszok szerint az MQ–9-est az amerikai légierő működtette, légtérsértés végül nem történt.
 Gyakran jelenti a NATO és Oroszország is, hogy különféle, rivális hatalmak katonai repülőgépeit „fogják el,” mielőtt azok belépnek adott ország légterébe. Az esetek nagy részében ez úgy néz ki, hogy felszáll a légterét védő ország vadászgépekkel, ahogy a „veszélyt jelentő” repülőgép közel ér a légtérhez, majd addig kíséri, amíg el nem hagyja a célobjektum a térséget.  A tárca szerint a szárazáru-szállító hajó kapitánya nem reagált az orosz félnek arra a felszólítására, hogy állítsa meg a hajót ellenőrzés céljából. A jármű megállásra kényszerítésére az orosz hajó figyelmeztető tüzet nyitott, és felszállt egy orosz Ka–29-es helikopter.
