Óriási pénzbírság, csaknem 146 milliárd rubel (572 milliárd forint) kifizetésére kötelezte pénteken egy orosz bíróság a Nornickel bányaipari óriás egyik leányvállalatát a tavaly májusban bekövetkezett környezetszennyezésért.
A Krasznojarszki terület döntőbíróságán zajló perben az orosz környezetvédelmi felügyelet (Roszprirodnadzor) 148 millió rubel pénzbüntetést kért a Nornickel energiaipari leányvállalatára, a NTEK-re a környezeti károk miatt.
A törvényszék részben méltányolta a kérést, és kétmilliárddal csökkentette az összeget, így a vállalatnak csak 146 milliárd rubelt kell fizetnie – ismertette a döntést Natalja Varigina bíró.
Tavaly május végén a NTEK-hez tartozó hőerőmű egyik olajtározójából húszezer tonna nyersanyag ömlött ki, miután megsüllyedt a létesítmény tartószerkezete. A környezetvédelmi felügyelet 148 milliárd rubelre becsülte a környezeti károk nagyságát, a Nornickel azonban nem értett egyet a számolási módszerrel, és úgy kalkulált, hogy az okozott kár ennél közel hétszer kisebb, 21,4 milliárd rubel.
A Nornickel (Norilszkij nikel) a világ legnagyobb, nikkelt és palládiumot bányászó és olvasztó vállalata, a réztermelésben pedig a hetedik a világon. A cég ezenkívül tucatnyi nemes és értékes fémet termel kezdve a platinától és aranytól egészen az irídiumig.

Precedens értékű ítélet született egy francia bíróságon a pénteki nap folyamán, ugyanis 7.3 millió eurós kártérítést ítéltek meg összesen 727 korábbi szénbányásznak, amiért egész pályafutásuk során mérgező anyagok mellett kellett dolgozniuk.
A jelentős ítélet pedig minden korábbi és jelenleg bányász számára kapaszkodóként szolgálhat, akinek úgy kellett dolgoznia ezekben a veszélyes üzemekben, hogy nem szolgáltattak a számukra megfelelő munkahelyi védelmet – véli a France24.
Az Észak-Franciaországban található bíróság úgynevezett „szorongási kártérítést” ítélt meg a bányászoknak, mely egy olyan kompenzáció, amit nem egy konkrétan bekövetkezett betegségért adnak, hanem egy olyanért, ami a jövőben bekövetkezhet. Az ügyben érintett bányászok esetében ez az azbesztnek való kitettség volt, amely súlyos egészségügyi károkhoz is vezethet.
Mind a 727 bányásznak fejenként 10 000 euró kártérítést ítélt meg a bíróság, melyet kitörő örömmel fogadott a bányászok szakszervezete, amely immáron nyolc éve küzdött ezért, ugyanis 2013-ban adták be a kártérítési igényt.
A bányász szakma kiemelten veszélyes munkának minősül, nem csak a magas balesetveszély, hanem a belélegzett mérgező gázok és porok, mint az ásványi por, a szilícium-dioxid, azbeszt és szén. A bányászat különböző résztevékenységei mind egészségroncsoló hatással lehetnek a dolgozókra.
A szóban forgó ügyben – ahogy ez sajnos a világban számos helyen előfordul – nem nyújtott a bányászvállalat üzemeltetője (ez esetben a francia állam) megfelelő védelmet a bányászoknak, így súlyos munkajogi szabályokat szegtek meg.
A bíróság végül megállapította, hogy e kötelezettségének a munkáltató nem tett eleget, és a bányászok nem részesültek megfelelő védelemben. A döntés még nem jogerős, a francia államnak két hónapja van fellebbezni a Legfelsőbb Bíróságra.

Kártérítési pert indítanak a koronavírus olasz áldozatainak hozzátartozói – írja a Reuters. A regionális és országos hatóságoktól nagyjából 500 áldozat családja követel 100 millió eurós, azaz több mint 36,2 milliárd forintnyi kártérítést.
