Egy nappal korábban 249 866 895 fertőzöttet tartottak nyilván, a halálos áldozatok száma 5 049 007 volt. A fertőzés 192 országban és régióban van jelen. Szakértők szerint a diagnosztizált esetek száma nem tükrözi pontosan a valóságot, mert az egyes országokban többé-kevésbé korlátozott a tesztek száma, és a nyilvántartás kritériumai is különböznek.
A hivatalos adatok szerint a SARS-CoV-2 vírus okozta Covid-19 nevű betegségnek az Egyesült Államokban van a legtöbb fertőzöttje, 46 613 141 eddig a napig. A halálos áldozatok száma 755 636.
Indiában 34 366 987 fertőzöttet és 461 057 halálos áldozatot jegyeztek fel.
Brazíliában 21 886 077 fertőzöttről és 609 573 halálos áldozatról tudni.
Az Egyesült Királyságban 9 379 286 a fertőzöttek száma, és 142 293-an haltak meg a betegségben.

Olaszországban 4 812 594 fertőzöttet tartanak nyilván, a halálos áldozatok száma 132 423.
Németországban 4 816 177 a fertőzöttek száma, 96 731 a halottaké.
Oroszországban az elmúlt egy nap alatt 890-en haltak meg koronavírus-fertőzés következtében a pénteken közzétett hivatalos adatok szerint. Ez a legmagasabb szám a járvány kezdete óta.
Ezzel a halálos áldozatok száma 209 918-ra nőtt. A nem véglegesített halálozási ráta 2,77 százalék. Az igazolt fertőzöttek száma 25 796-tal – ez a legmagasabb adat január 2-a óta – 7 586 536-ra emelkedett. A napi növekmény 0,34 százalék, az új esetek 8,7 százaléka volt tünetmentes. Az országban 650 653 aktív esetet tartanak számon. A felépültek száma 15 395-tel 6 725 965-re nőtt.
Oroszországban a járvány kezdete óta több mint 193,2 millió, az elmúlt napon pedig 557 ezer laboratóriumi tesztet végeztek el. Koronavírus-fertőzés gyanújával jelenleg 1 325 695 embert tartanak orvosi megfigyelés alatt.

Olaszországban 4 556 126 fertőzöttet tartanak nyilván, a halálos áldozatok száma 129 466.
Lengyelországban 2 890 161 fertőzöttet és 75 379 halálesetet tartanak nyilván.
Orvos volt az a férfi, aki a koronavírus Delta variánsának első ukrajnai áldozata, és nem járt külföldön – közölte Ihor Kuzin országos közegészségügyi főorvos szerdai sajtótájékoztatóján, adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál.
Mint a főorvos a sajtónak elmondta az eset kapcsán, a koronavírus Delta variánsától életét vesztett illető férfi és foglalkozását tekintve orvos volt. Biztos, hogy az utóbbi hónapokban nem utazott külföldre – tette hozzá.
Kuzin szerint az a tény, hogy az áldozat nem járt külföldön, azt mutatja, hogy Ukrajna területén fertőződött meg a Delta variánssal vagy foglalkozási körében, vagy otthoni környezetben.
A hírportál emlékeztetett rá, hogy az egészségügyi hatóságok ma közölték a hírt, miszerint Kijevben, az Alekszandrov Kórházban meghalt a koronavírus Delta variánsával megfertőződött első ukrajnai beteg. Az intézményben hat pácienst kezelnek a Delta vírustörzzsel.

Ez 14,71 százalékkal több, mint egy nappal korábban, és a legmagasabb adat január 24. óta. Akkor 21 127 új esetet jegyeztek fel. A járvány kezdete óta Oroszországban 5 388 695 fertőzést mutattak ki.
A legtöbb új esetet Moszkvában (8598), Moszkva megyében (2308) Szentpéterváron (1134), Nyizsnyij Novgorod megyében (299), Burjátföldön (258), Voronyezs megyében (223) és a Krímben (221) észlelték. Az orosz fővárosban harmadik napja döntött abszolút rekordot a halálozások száma: csütörtökön 92 áldozatot regisztráltak.
