Augusztus 28-án Kirovohrad megyében, a Novoukrajinkai járáshoz tartozó Hmelove falu közelében súlyos közlekedési baleset történt. A tragédiában hatan meghaltak, köztük egy gyermek, további hat személy – köztük egy másik gyermek – megsérült – közölték a Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálata és a Kirovohradi Rendőrkapitányság sajtószolgálatai.
Az elöljáró rendőrségi információk szerint a halálos baleset körülbelül 2:00 órakor történt az M–30 Sztrij–Umany–Dnyipro–Izvarine autóúton.
Előzetes adatok szerint egy 2003-as születésű sofőr által vezetett Mercedes-Benz Sprinter mikrobusz ütközött egy 1992-es születésű vezető által vezetett MAN busszal.
Az eset kapcsán a rendőrség büntetőeljárást indított.

A rendőrség szerint a turistacsoport az amerikai-kanadai határon található Niagara-vízeséstől tartott vissza New York városába, amikor a jármű felborult. A rendőrség szerint az áldozatok többsége Indiából, Kínából és a Fülöp-szigetekről érkezett turista.
Mentőautókat és mentőhelikoptereket küldtek a baleset helyszínére. A hírek szerint 24 embert vittek kórházba. A szerencsétlenségben a turistabuszon kívül egy pótkocsis kamion volt érintett. Az ütközés nyomán a busz felborult, több utas kirepült a járműből. A rendőrség megerősítette, hogy a baleset idején 52 ember volt a buszon – legfiatalabb utas 1 éves volt, a legidősebb 74.

Afganisztán nyugati részén súlyos baleset történt: legkevesebb 71 ember, köztük 17 gyermek halt meg, amikor egy Iránból kitoloncolt menekülteket szállító busz ütközött össze egy teherautóval és egy motorkerékpárral, majd lángra kapott – számolt me a Liner.hu.
A szörnyű baleset Herát tartományban történt, és az afgán hatóságok szerint az ok a sofőr hibás döntése és a túlzott sebesség volt. A tartományi kormány szóvivője, Ahmadullah Muttaqi, valamint a helyi rendőrség erősítette meg a halálos áldozatok számát. Deportáltak voltak az utasok
A jármű utasai nemrég tértek vissza Iránból, ahonnan az utóbbi hónapokban százezreket küldtek vissza Afganisztánba. A busz a főváros, Kabul felé tartott, miután minden utas felszállt az Iszlám Kala határátkelőnél – mondta el Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi tartományi tisztviselő az AFP hírügynökségnek.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a tálib kormány vezető szóvivője a dpa hírügynökségnek szintén megerősítette, hogy az áldozatok Iránból deportált afgánok voltak, ugyanakkor hozzátette: részletesebb információk egyelőre nem állnak rendelkezésre.
A tragédia helyszínén, Herát városának Guzara körzetében a rendőrség arról is beszámolt, hogy a buszon kívül egy teherautó és egy motorkerékpár is részt vett az ütközésben. Az áldozatok többsége a buszon vesztette életét, de két ember meghalt a teherautóban, valamint ketten a motorkerékpáron is életüket vesztették.
Az ENSZ Menekültügyi Főbiztosságának (UNHCR) adatai szerint 2025-ben eddig több mint 1,4 millió ember tért vissza vagy kényszerült visszatérni Afganisztánba, elsősorban Iránból és Pakisztánból. Csak Iránból június eleje óta közel 450 ezer ember érkezett vissza, miután Teherán július 6-ra határidőt szabott az okmányok nélküli menekültek távozására.
A Nemzetközi Migrációs Szervezet (IOM) szóvivője kiemelte: 2024 június 1. és július 5. között 449 218 ember lépett be Afganisztánba Irán felől, ami azt jelenti, hogy az előző év teljes adataihoz képest is drámai a növekedés. Egyes napokon 40 ezer ember érkezett a határátkelőknél.

Kenyában egy temetésről hazafelé tartó busz súlyos balesetet szenvedett, amelynek következtében 25 ember vesztette életét – közölték a helyi hatóságok.
A tragédia a nyugat-kenyai Kisumu-Kakamega főútvonalon történt péntek délután, egy olyan útszakaszon, amit a halálos balesetek gyakorisága miatt különösen veszélyesnek tartanak. A rendőrségi jelentés szerint a busz vezetője elveszítette uralmát a jármű felett, letért az útról, majd az árokba borult.
A helyszínen 21-en haltak meg – 10 nő, 10 férfi és 1 kislány –, miközben további 20 utas sérült meg, közülük ötöt súlyos állapotban szállítottak kórházba. Az egészségügyi intézményekben négy áldozat később életét vesztette – tájékoztattak a hatóságok.
A busz utasai egy család tagjai voltak, akik egy Nyahera melletti temetési szertartásról tartottak Nyakach felé, ami körülbelül 62 kilométer távolságra fekszik. A baleset okát egyelőre nem sikerült megállapítani, és a helyi rendőrség vizsgálatot indított. A kenyai Egészségügyi Minisztérium „sürgős véradásra” szólított fel a túlélők megsegítésére, és együttérzését fejezte ki az elhunytak hozzátartozóinak.
Az ország elnöke, William Ruto azonnali intézkedést sürgetett, mondván: „Fel kell gyorsítani azok felelősségre vonását, akik bármilyen mulasztás miatt hozzájárultak a balesethez, továbbá minden közlekedési szabálysértést kezelni kell annak érdekében, hogy javuljon az ország útbiztonsága.” A Nemzeti Közlekedési és Biztonsági Hatóság is támogatja a vizsgálatot – írja a BBC.
Ez a tragédia egy újabb, súlyos eset a kenyai közlekedésben: nemrégiben egy orvosi alapítvány kisrepülőgépe zuhant le Nairobiban, amely 6 halálos áldozatot követelt, míg egy másik, Naivashán történt busz és vonat ütközésben 9-en vesztették életüket. Legalább tizennégyen meghaltak és heten megsérültek az orosz Távol-Keleten, Jakutföldön hétfőn hajnalban, amikor egy munkásokat szállító busz az útról letérve szakadékba zuhant – közölték a helyi hatóságok.

Egy gyerek meghalt, 21 megsérült, amikor felborult az őket szállító iskolabusz az angliai Somersetben. A baleset helyszínére öt mentőhelikopter is sietett, az eddigi adatok szerint két gyerek sérülései súlyosak.

A buszon mintegy 60-70-en voltak, többségük ötödikes diák, akik egy állatkerti kiránduláson voltak. A The Sun azt írja, a busz mögött egy szolgálaton kívüli tűzoltó autózott, aki azonnal értesítette a mentőket és megkezdte a mentést. A baleset helyszínére öt mentőhelikoptert is küldtek, a sérült gyerekeket a közeli kórházakba vitték. Úgy tudni, a halálos áldozat mellett két gyerek állapota súlyos. A baleset körülményeit vizsgálják.

Kunszentmárton polgármestere közölte, hogy hazatért Ukrajnába a vasárnap hajnalban, Kungyalu külterületén árokba borult autóbusz utasainak nagy része.
Szabó Péter, Kunszentmárton polgármestere közölte, hogy a helyi művelődési házban ideiglenesen elhelyezett utasok nagy része – mintegy hetven ember – hétfőn megérkezett Lembergbe. Erről Ukrajna magyarországi nagykövete, Sándor Fegyir tájékoztatta az MTI-t.
A polgármester hozzátette, hogy két autóbusz érkezett Ukrajnából az utasokért: az egyik vasárnap este negyed tizenegykor, a másik tizenegy óra körül indult el Kunszentmártonból. Utóbbi jármű még meg tudta várni azt a nőt, akit a rendőrök a szegedi kórházból vittek vissza Kunszentmártonba. Mint mondta, az árokba borult autóbuszon egy tánccsoport tagjai utaztak Macedónia felé.
Szabó Péter kiemelte, hogy a Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok vármegyei településen és a környéken élők egy emberként fogtak össze a sérülést nem szenvedett utasok ellátásáért. A kunszentmártoni művelődési házban a baleset napján reggelit, kávét, teát, üdítőt, ásványvizet kaptak. Tájékoztatott, hogy a csépai önkormányzati konyhán dolgozók ebédet főztek a számukra, a vacsorát a kunszentmártoni polgármesteri hivatal dolgozói biztosították. A helyben működő albán pékség szendviccsel látta el az utasokat indulás előtt.
