Bár az aktivisták azt állítják, hogy faszén alapú folyadékot öntöttek a szökőkútba, ellenük rongálás miatt emelhetnek vádat.
„Minden hivatalos előrejelzés, még a kormányzati forrásokból származók is elismerik, hogy a kormány nem teszi meg a szükséges intézkedéseket a globális felmelegedés 1,5°C-on belül tartására, ehelyett a legalább 2,5°C-os, katasztrofális növekedés felé vezetnek minket. Emiatt a szélsőséges időjárási események egyre inkább lakhatatlanabbá teszik a földjeinket, az elsivatagosodás és az aszályok száma drámaian növekszik, összeomlik a gazdaság és végül a társadalmak is.
Csak egyetlen módja van, hogy megálljunk ezen a kollektív öngyilkosság felé tartó úton.
Ezzel az akcióval arra kérjük a kormányt, hogy ne fektessen be többé a környezetkárosító beruházásokba, ne nyugodjanak bele ebbe a halálos ítéletbe” – mondták az aktivisták.
A téren megjelent Róma polgármestere is, aki helytelenítette a történteket. Roberto Gualtieri szerint ugyan fontos meghallgatni a jövő generációt, ám:

A több tucat tiltakozó – köztük Greta Thunberg svéd klímaaktivista – azért torlaszolta el az épület főbejáratát, mert a skandináv ország középső részén létesített két szélerőműpark jelenleg is üzemel, pedig a norvég legfelsőbb bíróság 2021-ben hozott döntése szerint a turbinák működése sérti az ősi rénszarvaspásztor életmódjukhoz ragaszkodó számik nemzetközi egyezményekben foglalt kisebbségi jogait.
A számik a turbinák leszerelését követelik, mivel állításuk szerint a hatalmas szélerőművek látványa és hangja megijeszti az állataikat, és megzavarja az ősi hagyományok gyakorlását.

A fosszilis tüzelőanyagok kormányzati támogatása ellen tiltakozva néhányan az úttestre ragasztották vagy egymáshoz láncolták magukat. A rendőrség láncfűrésszel választotta el őket, és állítólag kóla segítségével oldotta fel a ragasztást.
Több mint ezren városon át vezető autópálya aluljárója felett támogatták a blokádot – írja az MTI. A rendőrség kora délután kezdte meg a tüntetők eltávolítását, a letartóztatottakat buszokkal vitték el, és sportcsarnokokban helyezték el őket.
A nu.nl cikke szerint összesen 768 tüntetőt tartóztattak le.
Az autópályát csak vasárnap kora reggel nyitották meg, miután az utolsó, oszlopra felmászott aktivistát is eltávolították a helyszínről.
Az Extinction Rebellion Twitter-oldalán azt írták, hogy a hatóságok „aránytalan erőbevetéssel” léptek fel a tüntetők ellen, és négy újságírót is letartóztattak. A hatóságok szerint a sajtó munkatársait letartóztatásuk után a „lehető leghamarább” elengedték. A rendőrség közleménye szerint a letartóztatások „csendesen és békésen zajlottak”, jelenleg folyik az őrizetbe vett emberek azonosítása. Egy észak-rajna-vesztfáliai falut akarnak lerombolni, hogy a szénbánya teret nyerjen. A bánya által termelt lignit azonban a különböző szénfajták között is kifejezetten szennyezőnek számít.
A hatóságok szerint még mindig több mint egy tucat építményt kell megtisztítani az aktivistáktól a lerombolásra ítélt, észak-rajna-vesztfáliai Lützerathban, ahol már napok óta néznek egymással farkasszemet a rendőrök és a tiltakozók.
A tüntetők eltávolítása a bulldózerek megindítása előtt szombaton is folytatódott, miközben a hétvégére újabb demonstrálók érkeztek, hogy megakadályozzák a Garzweiler II nevet viselő barnakőszénbánya további terjeszkedését. Köztük van Greta Thunberg is, aki pénteken érkezett a helyszínre és elítélte a bányát üzemeltető RWE vállalattal kötött kompromisszumot.
Az egyezség értelmében a szén kivezetését előrébb hozták nyolc évvel, így arra már 2030-ban sor kerül, cserébe az RWE kiterjesztheti a bányát az elhagyott falu irányába.
Thunberg különösen az egyetlen német pártként mind a szövetségi, mind a tartományi szinten kormányon lévő zöldeket. Az aktivista szerint az olyan fosszilis tüzelőanyagok terén érdekelt vállalatokkal kötött alku, mint az RWE megmutatja, hol találhatóak a német zöldpárt prioritásai.
A zöldpárti gazdasági miniszter, Robert Habeck ugyanakkor védelmébe vette a döntést, mondván az orosz-ukrán háború árnyékában az energiabiztonság fenntartása érdekében szükség van a Lützerath alatt található szénre.

Tavaly októberben egyébként Thunberg egy interjúban arról beszélt, hogy az energiaválság hatására széntüzelésű erőműveket újraindítani rosszabb, mint a már egyébként is üzemelő atomerőműveket tovább működtetni. Németország még Angela Merkel kormányzása idején kezdte meg a nukleáris létesítmények bezárását, melyekből már csak három üzemel, azok is csak április közepéig, miután a zöldek azok további működését is ellenzik.
A rendőrség szerint a falu nagy részét sikerült megtisztítani a demonstrálóktól, ám mintegy 15 építmény még továbbra is a tiltakozók kezén van.
Ezek egy része ráadásul a föld alatt található. A ledózerolásra ítélt faluból az elmúlt napokban mintegy 470 embert távolítottak el a rendőrök, közülük 320-an önként távoztak. A szombati deonstrációra ugyanakkor több ezer embert várnak – írja a Deutsche Welle.

Egyetemi előadótermeket foglaltak el klímaaktivista diákok Ausztria nagyvárosaiban, így például Bécsben, Grazban és Salzburgban is hétfőn. A megmozdulás-sorozatot az Ég a Föld elnevezésű környezetvédő csoport szervezte, szimpatizánsaik „a politikai rendszer radikális megváltoztatását” követelik – számoltak be osztrák hírportálok. Linzben és Grazban klímaaktivisták autópálya-felhajtókat torlaszoltak el, néhányan pedig odaragasztották magukat az aszfalthoz.
A szervezettnek tűnő megmozdulások hétfő reggel kezdődtek Salzburgban és Innsbruckban, majd délben a bécsi Természeti Erőforrások és Alkalmazott Élettudományok Egyetemének (BOKU) diákjai is teremfoglalásba kezdtek. Kora délután a Grazi Egyetem aktivistái is csatlakoztak a megmozduláshoz – jelentette a Kronen Zeitung honlapja.
Az Ég a Föld elnevezésű klímaaktivista csoport támogatói „a rendszer radikális megváltoztatását” követelik „a társadalmi válság, az oktatási válság és az éghajlati válság leküzdése” érdekében.
Az érintett egyetemek vezetése kinyilvánította, hogy készek a „nyílt diskurzusra” a hallgatókkal. A Kronen Zeitung szerint hétfő délután panelbeszélgetést tartanak a diákönkormányzatok képviselőinek, valamint klímakutatóknak és a rektor vagy helyettesének részvételével.

A klímaaktivisták korábban számos módon – leginkább művészeti alkotások elcsúfításával: levessel, olajjal történő leöntésével, illetve kezük vagy más testrészüknek a festményekhez ragasztásával – fejezték ki elégedetlenségüket, amiért az európai kormányok „nem tesznek eleget” a klímakatasztrófa megelőzéséért.
A kiállított festményeket és egyéb műalkotásokat megkárosító aktivisták miatt várhatóan emelkedni fog a múzeumi belépők ára is.
Az akciók ugyanis arra késztetik az intézmények fenntartóit, hogy növeljék a biztonsági személyzet létszámát, amelynek ezentúl át kell kutatniuk a múzeumokba érkező látogatókat is, hogy ne vihessenek be festékszórót vagy ragasztót a termekbe.
Berlinben a helyi klímaaktivisták november eleji utcai tüntetése során megtörtént, hogy egy balesetet szenvedett kerékpáros nő maradandó agykárosodást szenvedett, mivel az útlezárások miatt a mentők csak jelentős késéssel értek ki a baleset helyszínére.
