Bíróság elé állítják az Egyesült Államokban az 1988-as Lockerbie-katasztrófa egyik felelősét, a líbiai Abu Aglia Mohammad Maszudot, aki a bombát készíthette, amellyel a 270 ember halálát okozó robbantást elkövették.
Szinte napra pontosan 32 évvel a katasztrófát követően a szinte egyetlen élő, a robbantással összefüggésbe hozható embert is bíróság elé fogják állítani – írja a Sky News. A titkosszolgálatok és a média oknyomozása segítségével ugyanis kiderült, hogy ő volt az, aki a repülőgép-szerencsétlenséghez szükséges bombát készítette.
Maszúd így az amerikai bíróságok előtt is felelhet tetteiért, ám jelenleg egy líbiai börtönben ül, ugyanis 10 évre ítélték el bombakészítés miatt. A Wall Street Journal értesülései szerint azonban az amerikai igazságügyi miniszter, William Barr követelheti és követelni is fogja Maszúd kiadatását az amerikai hatóságoknak.
Az 1988-as robbantás összefüggésében még 2001-ben ítélték börtönbüntetésre Abdelbasszet al-Meghrabi líbiai titkos ügynököt, aki magát a bombát vitte fel a repülőgépre. Al-Meghrabit azonban 2009-ben kiengedték a börtönből az egészségügyi állapotára hivatkozva, és végül 2012-ben el is hunyt Tripoliban, prosztatarák miatt.
Akkoriban egy egészen nagy nemzetközi csatározás indult el Líbia és a nyugati országok között, ugyanis az akkori diktátor, Moammer Kadhafi nem adta ki sokáig a feltételezett elkövetőket. Több szankciót is kivetettek Líbia ellen, amit csak az elkövetők kiadása, és 2.32 milliárdos dolláros kártérítés ellenében oldottak fel.
Az 1988. december 21-én elkövetett robbantásban összesen 243 – köztük 189 amerikai, és négy magyar – utas, a 16 fős személyzet, és a skóciai Lockerbie városának 11 lakója vesztette életét. Az azóta megszűnt PanAm 103-as járata Frankfurtból New Yorkba tartott volna, ám a líbiai támadók a skóciai település felett megsemmisítették.

A Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálatának (DSZNSZ) elmondása szerint a repülőgép a zuhanást követően kigyulladt. A DSZNSZ munkatársai azonnal kiérkeztek a helyszínre, s egy órán keresztül próbálták megfékezni a lángokat. A munkálatokban a DSZNSZ nyolc dolgozója és két járműve vett részt.
A halálos repülőgép-baleset pontos körülményei még nem ismertek, a hatóságok hivatalos közleményére még várni kell.

A BBC szerint műszaki hiba okozhatta a balesetet, a gép kigyulladhatott, mielőtt lezuhant. Börtönben van az az ember, aki felelős az iráni légvédelem által lelőtt ukrán utasszállító január 8-ai katasztrófájáért – közölte szombaton Dzsavád Zaríf iráni külügyminiszter.
„Börtönben van az az ember, akik tévedésből lelőtte az ukrán gépet”
– idézte az ISNA félhivatalos iráni hírügynökség a minisztert. Zaríf azonban mást nem árult el róla.
A MAU ukrán légitársaság Teheránból Kijevbe tartó gépe január 8-án, röviddel a felszállás után zuhant le, a gépen tartózkodó 176 ember meghalt.
Irán a katasztrófa után napokig tagadta, hogy rakétatalált érte a gépet.
Miután azonban Kanada és az Egyesült Államok is rakéta becsapódásának tulajdonította a katasztrófát, Teherán beismerte, hogy a Forradalmi Gárda légvédelmi egysége lőtte le a gépet, de nem szándékosan.
A katasztrófa után két héttel beismerte azt is, hogy két, rövid hatótávolságú, orosz gyártmányú TOR-M1 légvédelmi rakétával lőtték le a gépet.
Arról azonban eddig még nem érkeztek hírek, hogy az iráni hatóságok bárkit is felelősségre vontak volna a történtek miatt.

Lánctalpas járműre szerelték, amely radart és nyolc rakétát szállít. A TOR hatótávolsága 12 kilométer, és legfeljebb 6 kilométeres magasságban repülő célpontok lelövésére alkalmas.

“Az információhiány, a témával kapcsolatos manipulációk, a nem ellenőrzött információk terjesztése jelentősen bonyolítja a tárgyalási folyamatot, és negatívan befolyásolhatja annak hatékonyságát” – figyelmeztetett a tisztségviselő a védelmi tanács sajtószolgálata által nyilvánosságra hozott közleményében. Felszólította az ukrán és a külföldi sajtót, hogy kiegyensúlyozott és felelősségteljes álláspontot alakítson ki a feketedobozok Ukrajnába szállításának kérdésében.
“Nyomatékosan felszólítom a médiát, hogy a feketedobozok visszaszolgáltatásának kérdésében az ukrán szervek hivatalos információit használja fel, amelyeket a hatóságok az iráni oldallal elért megállapodásoktól függően fognak a rendelkezésükre bocsátani” – fogalmazott Danyilov.
Haszan Rezaifár, az iráni polgári repülési szervezetnek a balesetek kivizsgálásáért felelős igazgatója vasárnap kijelentette, hogy – a korábbi hírekkel ellentétben – Irán egyelőre nem adja át Ukrajnának a feketedobozokat, amelyek a gép repülési adatait, illetve a pilótafülkében elhangzó beszélgetéseket hivatottak rögzíteni, hanem megpróbálja előbb saját maga megnyitni és leolvasni az adatokat róluk. “Ha nem sikerül, további lehetőségként felmerül még Ukrajna és Franciaország, de eddig még nem született döntés arról, hogy más országba küldjük őket” – tette hozzá az IRNA iráni állami hírügynökség jelentése szerint.
