Sibenik történelmi központjának egy része víz alá került, a heves széllökések villanyoszlopokat és fákat csavartak ki pénteken. Splitben sem volt sokkal jobb a helyzet, ahol a város egy részét szintén elöntötte a tenger, és több ház is megrongálódott. A magas tengerszint a környező szigeteken, Hvaron, Bracon, Visen és Korculán is problémákat okozott. Mivel Split térségben száz kilométeres sebességgel fújt a Dalmáciában jugo néven ismert, a Földközi-tengerről induló kelet-délkeleti irányból fújó meleg páradús szél, felfüggesztették a hajóforgalmat. A Kvarner-öbölben a vihar nagy károkat okozott Abbáziában (Opatija). A helyi média jelentése szerint a viharos hullámok elmosták a tengerparti sétány, a Lungomare egy szakaszát, és megrongálták a kerítést. Biztonsági okokból ezt a részt lezárták a járókelők elől. A viharos széllökések a közlekedésben is fennakadásokat okoztak. Az ország egy részén korlátozásokat vezettek be, így többek között az emeletes buszokra. Pénteken egy kamiont is felborított a szél. A horvát hidrometeorológiai intézet a legmagasabb fokozatú, vörös riasztási szintről, közepes fokozatú, narancssárga szintre mérsékelte a szombatra vonatkozó előrejelzését.

A meteorológiai hivatal szerint a csütörtök óta tartó felhőszakadás a 140 éve tartó mérések alapján rekordmennyiségű csapadékot hozott, ami miatt Hongkongban utcák és metróállomások kerültek víz alá, az iskolákat pedig be kellett zárni. Napok óta ömlik az eső, folyamatosan mentik az embereket.
Mint azt a hongkongi mentőszolgálat közölte, csaknem száz ember kellett eddig kórházba szállítani, egy személy életét vesztette. A mentés folyamatos, a bajbajutottak pedig igyekeznek magasabb területekre menekülni a több méteres víz elől.
Az eső földcsuszamlásokat is okozott Hongkong hegyvidéki területein, és több autópálya is járhatatlanná vált. Péntekre ugyan a riasztási fokozatot csökkentették, de szombatig további eső várható.
A meteorológiai hivatal közleménye szerint 24 óra alatt 158,1 mm eső zúdult Hongkongra, ami a legmagasabb adat a feljegyzések 1884-es kezdete óta – számolt be róla a BBC. Ez később 200 mm-re nőtt, ami többhavi csapadéknak felel meg.
A heves esőzések Dél-Kínában is gondot okoztak, a Hongkonggal határos Sencsen városában szintén rekordmennyiségű eső esett. Guangdong tartományban a helyi hatóságok azt tanácsolták az alacsonyan fekvő területeken élőknek, hogy fontolják meg otthonaik elhagyását.

At least 10 people have died and 11 others were injured after a massive fire broke out at the multi-storey Lemon Green Restaurant in the Hauz Rani area of New Delhi on Wednesday morning.

A hét körzetben kialakult árvízhelyzet több mint 70 ezer embert érint. A múlt heti heves esőzések földcsuszamlásokat, áradásokat és házomlásokat okoztak Himacsál Prades államban, és több mint 70 ember halálához vezettek. A szakadatlan eső a gátak vízszintjét is veszélyesen magasra emelte.
A pandzsábi áradásokat a szomszédos Himacsál Prades két víztározójából kiengedett víz váltotta ki. A pandzsábi Fazikal körzet falvaiban több mint 20 ezer embert fenyeget a víz. Ezekről a településekről kizárólag vízi járművel lehet eljutni a szárazföldre, mivel a víz elmosta az utakat.
A medréből kilépő Sutlej folyóban a biztonsági erők több embere is vízbe fulladt, a víz teljesen elszigetelt tizennégy falvat a többi településtől.
