A hőlégballonhoz szerelt kosár az ütközés következtében zuhanni kezdett, a balesetben pedig öt ember életét vesztette.
Öt ember meghalt, miután egy hőlégballon szombaton nekiütközött egy elektromos vezetéknek Új-Mexikó legnagyobb városában. A baleset reggel 7 óra körül történt Albuquerque nyugati oldalán, melynek következtében 13 ezer ember maradt áram nélkül.
A hőlégballonról levált kosár 30 méteres magasságból zuhant egy forgalmas út közepére, majd felgyulladt, a léggömb felső része egy háztetőn landolt – számolt be a Tények az NBC News értesülései alapján.
A hatóságok szerint három férfi, köztük a pilóta és két nő vesztette életét a balesetben, négyen már a helyszínen életüket vesztették, míg az ötödik személy a kórházban hunyt el. A Szövetségi Légi Irányítás szerint az erős szél sodorhatta a hőlégballont a villanyvezetékek felé, alapvetően ugyanis nem könnyű a ballon irányítása, masszív szakértelemre van szükség a vezetéséhez.
Joshua Perez a környéken volt, amikor észlelte a balesetet, így egy másik férfival azonnal a helyszínre sietett, és segített kikapcsolni a propántartályt. Perez a KOB4 Newsnak elmondta, hogy a kosárban lévő emberek már nem mozogtak. Az Egyesült Államok leghalálosabb hőlégballonos balesete 2016-ban történt Texasban, amelynek során 16 ember vesztette életét.

Az ENSZ is felháborodott a támadás után, ami eddig legkevesebb 132 emberi áldozattal járt, mely egy újabb egészen véres támadás volt.
Az Al Jazeera beszámolója szerint a fegyveresek legkevesebb 132 emberrel végeztek Burkina Faso északi részén, ahol az instabilitás jellemző. Az ENSZ is elítélte a szörnyű támadást, és felszólították az országokat, hogy fokozzák az erőszakos szélsőségesség elleni küzdelmet.
A támadók péntek éjjel csaptak le, akik a Nigerrel határos Yagha tartományban található Solhan falu lakóit ölték meg. A kormány által közzétett szombati nyilatkozat szerint házakat és a falu piacát is felgyújtották a kegyetlen gyilkosok.
Az áldozatok között hét gyermek is volt, ami még tragikusabbá teszi az eseményeket. A kormányszívó további negyven sebesültről számolt be, akik szintén jelen voltak a támadás éjszakáján. Egyelőre egyetlen csoport sem vállalta magára a felelősséget a támadásért, ami az elmúlt évek legtöbb halálos áldozatát követelő mészárlás volt Burika Fasóban. A nyugat-afrikai ország 2015 óta küzd az al-Kaidához köthető terrorszervezetek ellen, újabban pedig az ISIS-hez közeli csoportok csapnak le az ártatlan emberekre.
A támadások először északon, a mali határ közelében kezdődtek, de azóta azok más régiókra is átterjedtek, különösen keletre, mellyel a világ egyik legsúlyosabb humanitárius válságát idézték elő. A régóta tartó konfliktus óta mintegy 1,2 millió ember kényszerült elmenekülni otthonról az egyre gyakoribb és halálos támadások miatt.
Annak ellenére, hogy több ezer francia katona és más nemzetközi, illetve regionális erők vannak jelen a Száhel-övezetben, ezek a fegyveres csoportok újra és újra lecsapnak a hadseregre, valamint a civilekre.

A történtek után Burkina Faso 72 órás gyászt hirdetett az országban. Az egyik forrás szerint az éjjel 2 óra körüli támadások először a támogató polgári védelmi erő egyik állása ellen összpontosultak, majd megtámadták a helyi lakosokat, és kivégzéseket hajtottak végre.

A solháni támadás alig néhány héttel azután történt, hogy a védelmi miniszter és más katonai vezetők látogatást tettek a szomszédos Sebba városában, hogy biztosítsák a lakosságot arról, hogy a területen végrehajtott katonai műveletek után az élet visszatérhet a normális kerékvágásba. Az tudósításból kiderült, hogy nem messze a támadás helyétől volt egy katonai laktanya is, de nem reagáltak, és nem mentek ki a helyszínre.

Alfredo Ramirez III, a Miami-Dade rendőrkapitányság vezetője megerősítette, hogy egy újabb lövöldözés történt az Egyesült Államokban, melynek legalább két halálos áldozata van egyelőre – számolt be róla a Miami Herald.
Ramirez elmondása szerint a gyilkosok éjfél magasságában kezdtek el lövöldözni a Miami Gardens közelében, amikor éppen egy koncertet tartottak. Megfogalmazása szerint a fegyveresek hidegvérrel kezdtek el lőni a tömegbe, különösebb célpont nélkül.
A rendőrkapitány felidézte, hogy három fegyveres egy fehér Nissan Pathfinder típusú személygépkocsival érkezett a helyszínre, gépkarabélyokkal és pisztolyokkal a kezükbe, majd válogatás nélkül egyszerűen lőni kezdtek.
A Miami-Dade rendőrség szóvivője elmondta, hogy nyolc sérültet azonnal kórházba kellett szállítani, míg legalább 12 ember saját lábán vonult be a körzet valamely kórházába. Mint Ramirez fogalmazott, most lett elege a fegyveres erőszakból: „Az ilyesfajta fegyveres erőszaknak most azonnal véget kell vetni. Minden hétvégén ugyanazt tapasztaljuk. Ezek biztosan szervezettek, ezek (az események) határozottan nem véletlenszerűen történnek”
Miamiban ez egy hétvége alatt a második lövöldözés volt, ugyanis a pénteki nap folyamán egy autóból kezdtek el lövöldözni a támadók. A pénteki lövöldözésben egy fő életét vesztette, valamint hatan megsebesültek.

Tűz ütött ki szombat hajnalban egy kórházi intenzív osztályon Indiában, a füst tíz csecsemő halálát okozta – írja az MTI a rendőrség közlése alapján. A kórházi személyzet és a tűzoltók hét csecsemőt meg tudtak menteni.
A tüzet rövidzárlat okozhatta.
Az eset a nyugat-indiai Mahárastra állam Bhandara városában, egy állami kórházban történt. Az első vizsgálat eredménye szerint a tüzet valamilyen elektromos készülék rövidzárlata okozta – közölte egy rendőrtiszt.
Egy orvos arról számolt be, hogy a kórház személyzetének sikerült megfékeznie a tüzet, majd a tűzoltók teljesen eloltották azt, de a csecsemők füstmérgezését nem tudták megakadályozni, tíz esetében pedig ez végzetes volt.
Indiában az utóbbi években sok kórházi tűzeset történt a nem megfelelő biztonsági intézkedések miatt. 2011-ben 90 ember halt meg egy kalkuttai kórházi tűzvészben.

A Kanchanjunga Express train met with an accident in Bengal's Siliguru on Monday. The train was en route to the Sealdah station in Kolkata and the accident happened when a goods train hit it from behind in Siliguri's Rangapani region.
