Újfajta bűnözési forma terjed Kaliforniában: maszkos, pajszeres bűnözők tucatszám összeverődve egyszerűen elárasztanak különféle boltokat és elvisznek mindent, ami mozdítható. Los Angelesben pénteken újabb támadás volt, de sokukat elkapta a rendőrség.
Pénteken közel tíz rendszám nélküli autó jelent meg egy Los Angeles-i Home Depot körül, majd körülbelül 20 símaszkos férfi kipattant a járművekből és szabályosan megostromolta az üzletet.
Szétverték a boltot és számos munkaeszközt elvittek, főleg pajszereket, kalapácsokat és pörölyöket.
A rendőrség feltartóztatta az egyik autót és négy férfit őrizetbe vettek. Jelenleg a kihallgatásuk folyik.
Kalifornia államban számos hasonló támadás történt az elmúlt két hétben, elsősorban luxusüzleteket céloztak meg a bűnözők, melyeket ahhoz hasonló eszközökkel vertek szét, melyeket most meglovasítottak a Home Depotból.

A karfentanil a fentanil rokona, amelynek a halálos adagja két milligramm. Az amerikai Kábítószer-ellenes Hivatal (DEA) szerint még érintésre is halálos, mivel a bőrön keresztül felszívódik, és nem emberi használatra készült – írja a New York Post.
A 30 éves Andres Jesus Moralest és a 27 éves Christine Ponce-t egyenként négy rendbeli, értékesítésre szánt kábítószer birtoklásával vádolták meg – közölte csütörtökön közleményben a riverside–i ügyészség.
„Ha más kábítószerekkel keveredik, a lefoglalt 21 kilogramm karfentanil több mint 50 millió ember megölésére lett volna elegendő“ – közölték a hatóságok. Morales és Ponce ellen csütörtökön emeltek vádat, azonban mindketten ártatlannak vallották magukat, ezért jelenleg a következő, november 9-re tervezett bírósági megjelenésükig fogva tartják őket, ahonnan óvadék ellenében sem szabadulhatnak.

A villámok által szított Tamarack-tűz, amelyet először július 4-én fedeztek fel a Humboldt-Toiyabe Nemzeti Erdőben, kezdetben egyetlen fára korlátozódott, amely egy hegygerincen égett, “gyér tüzelőanyaggal és természetes akadályokkal a megfékezésére” – közölte az erdészeti szolgálat, amely egy Facebook-bejegyzésben videót tett közzé a kis parázsló tűzről.
“A taktikai irányítási döntés az, hogy a biztonsági aggályok miatt nem vetünk be tűzoltócsapatokat, ez azonban nem jelent felelőtlen megközelítést. A füst látható lehet a Pacific Crest Trail túrázói számára, de a 0,25 hektáros tüzet gránitsziklák, egy kis tó és gyér tüzelőanyag veszi körül”
– írta az erdészeti szolgálat a videó mellett közzétett július 10-i Facebook-bejegyzésében. A Forest Service nyilatkozata ellenére, amely biztosította, hogy a tűz “nem jelent veszélyt a lakosságra, az infrastruktúrára vagy az erőforrásokra”, az erdőtűz azóta 58 417 hektárnyi területet és legalább 10 építményt perzselt fel Kaliforniában és Nevadában. Péntek délutánra a tüzet mindössze 4 százalékban sikerült megfékezni, és több mint ezer tűzoltó volt a helyszínen. A CNN azt írja, a döntés, miszerint kezdetben nem oltották el a tüzet, felháborította a kaliforniai és nevadai törvényhozókat.
Az erdészeti szolgálat vezetőjének, Vickie Christiansennek kedden keltezett levelében Tom McClintock kaliforniai képviselő, aki a Sierra Nevada vadregényes vidékét képviseli, ahol a tűz keletkezett, azt követelte, hogy magyarázzák meg, “miért nem történtek 2021. július 4-én kezdődött Tamarack-tűz oltására irányuló oltási intézkedések” – olvasható az irodája közleményében.
Tekintettel az erdőtüzek számára és növekvő méretükre, valamint az egész Nyugaton uralkodó súlyos tűzveszélyes körülményekre, azt javaslom, hogy azonnal értékelje át a US Forest Service jelenlegi irányvonalát, amely lehetővé teszi az erdőtüzek égését, és utasítsa az összes regionális erdészetet, hogy minden erdőtüzet a lehető leghamarabb el kell oltani” – áll McClintock levelében. Az erdészeti szolgálat megvédte azon döntését, hogy kezdetben nem oltották el a tüzet, és közleményében azt írta, hogy “a meredek, zord és távoli terep kihívást jelentett a vadonban keletkezett tűz biztonságos elfojtásában”, majd hozzátette, hogy az erőforrások korlátozottak voltak, és magasabb prioritású tüzekre, például az East Fork Fire tűzre kellett beosztani őket.

A szóban forgó tűz szeptember 5-én keletkezett, amikor Refugio Manuel Jimenez Jr. és Angela Renee Jimenez a San Bernardino-hegység lábánál az El Dorado Ranch Parkban tartott babaváró bulit. A party-n használtak egy füstgeneráló eszközt, amelyet a házaspár, egy mezőre helyezett, azonban a nagy szárazság miatt hamar lángra kaptak a növények – írta a The New York Post.
A lángok öt lakóházat és 15 másik épületet pusztítottak el, valamint több száz házból kellett evakuálni a lakosokat. A tűz mintegy hétezer hektáron okozott hatalmas károkat.

Захищаючись, директор «Автоентерпрайз» вихопив травматичний пістолет і вистрілив у землю, випадково поранивши опонента у палець ноги.За словами пораненого чоловіка, коли він припаркував свій автомобіль, до нього підійшов Ніконов і попрохав переставити машину на інше місце. Він відмовився. Тоді помічник нардепа став грубити, бити по його машині, а коли водій вийшов, вдарив його декілька разів і вихопив пістолет. Meghalt egy 30 éves, mentális problémákkal küzdő férfi, miután az ellene intézkedő rendőrök öt percen keresztül térdeltek tarkóján a kaliforniai Antiochiában – számolt be a CNN nyomán a 24.hu. A hírek szerint Angelo Quinto az elmúlt hónapokban szorongástól, depressziótól és paranoiától szenvedett.
A család megbízásából John L. Burris ügyvéd pert indított Quinto halála miatt.
A kereset szerint a férfi testvére, Isabella Collins december 23-án maga hívta ki a rendőröket, mert attól tartott, hogy a férfi bántani fogja anyjukat. Az ügyvéd állítása szerint a Quinto anyja a rendőrök érkezése előtt már pár perce karjaiban tartotta a fiát, aki ettől kezdett megnyugodni, ám amikor az antiochiai rendőrség két tisztje megérkezett az otthonukba, nem is próbálták megérteni a helyzetet, ehelyett azonnal megragadták Quintót és kitépték az anyja karjaiból.
Úgy tudni, Quinto a kényszerintézkedés következtében elvesztette eszméletét, ezért egy helyi kórházba szállították, ahol három nappal később halottnak nyilvánították.
A férfi édesanyja Maria Quinto-Collins, mobiltelefonjával rögzítette is az eset egy részét. Egy ponton, amikor látta, hogy a fia arccal a földnek fekszik mozdulatlanul, azt kérdezte: „Mi történt?”. Amikor a rendőrök megfordították a férfit, az arca véres volt. Az ügyvéd elmondása szerint a rendőrök bár már megbilincselték férfit, nem hagyták abba a bántalmazását, és megmagyarázhatatlan módon a „George Floyd technikát alkalmazták” rajta.
John L. Burris egyébként úgy tudja, a rendőrök nem viseltek testkamerát. A helyi rendőrség pedig a Quinto halála óta eltelt közel két hónap alatt sem adott tájékoztatást az ügyről.
A megyei körzeti ügyészség vizsgálja a halál körülményeit. A helyi halottkém pedig hétfőn azt mondta a CNN-nek, hogy a halál okának megállapítása is függőben van még.
