Iránban kivégezték a tüntetések egyik résztvevőjét, akit a hatóságok súlyos bűncselekményekkel vádoltak meg. Ő az első tüntető, akit Teheránban kivégeztek a szeptember 16. óta országos demonstrációk résztvevői közül.
Az iráni igazságügyi minisztériumhoz közel álló Mizan hírportál csütörtöki jelentése szerint Mohszen Sekari ellen az volt a vád, hogy részt vett egy teheráni utcai demonstráción, amely akadályozta a közúti forgalmat, és egy machetével rátámadt a biztonsági erők egyik tagjára.
A férfit szeptember 25-én vették őrizetbe, és ügyében november 20-án hozott ítéletet a teheráni Forradalmi Bíróság, amelynek tárgyalásai rendszerint zárt ajtók mögött folynak. A bíróság a férfit mint az Isten, illetve az állam ellen hadakozó bűnöst” ítélte el. Az 1979-es iszlám forradalom óta számos halálbüntetést szabtak ki erre hivatkozva Iránban.
Aktivisták arra figyelmeztettek, hogy hamarosan további kivégzésekre is sor kerülhet, mivel az ügyészség közleménye szerint legalább hét embert ítéltek már halálra a demonstrációkban vállalt szerepük miatt.
„Mohszen Sekari kivégzésére határozott választ kell adni, különben naponta számolhatunk a tüntetők kivégzésével” – írta Mahmud Amiri-Moghaddam, egy oslói székhelyű iráni emberi jogi szervezet igazgatója.
Iránban Mahsza Amini 22 éves kurd nő halálát követően robbant ki országos tiltakozás. Aminit azért vette őrizetbe az iráni erkölcsrendészet, mert nem viselte az előírásoknak megfelelően a kötelező muszlim kendőt, majd fogva tartása alatt kómába esett és szeptember 13-án meghalt. Szemtanúk szerint a hatóságok megverték.

A tálibok kilencvenes évekbeli uralma idején rendszeresek voltak a nyilvános kivégzések, korbácsolások és megkövezések. 2021-es hatalomátvételükkor azt ígérték, hogy mérsékeltebb irányvonalat fognak követni, és biztosítják a nők, illetve a kisebbségek jogait. Ehelyett korlátozták a szabadságjogokat és a nők oktatását, valamint több alkalommal nyilvános korbácsolással büntették a lopást és a házasságtörést.

Iránban kivégeztek négy embert, mert a hatóságok szerint együttműködtek Izraellel – számolt be vasárnap a Mizan Online, az igazságügyi hatóság honlapja. Május 22-én jelentette be a Forradalmi Gárda, Irán ideológiai hadserege, hogy letartóztatták „az izraeli hírszerző szolgálatok irányítása alatt működő hálózat” tagjait, anélkül, hogy megadták volna letartóztatásuk helyét. A Forradalmi Gárda közleménye szerint a vádlottak embereket raboltak el, megrongálták a köztulajdont, és hamis beismerő vallomásokat csikartak ki.

Szervezett bűnözéssel és kábítószer-kereskedelemmel foglalkozó paraguayi ügyészt gyilkoltak meg fegyveresek kedden egy kolumbiai tengerparton, ahol épp nászútján volt feleségével.
Marcelo Pecci ügyész áprilisban vette feleségül Claudia Aguilera újságírónőt.
A házasok a Decameron Baru Hotelben szállt meg, ahová a támadók jet skivel érkeztek a szálloda privát strandjára, majd rálőtték a párra. A fegyveresek egy biztonsági őrre is rálőttek, ő nem sérült meg. Aguilera sértetlenül úszta meg a támadást. Később elmondta, hogy az egyik támadó kétszer lőtt rá férjére, egyszer az arcába, egyszer pedig a hátába. Kedden késő délután a kolumbiai rendőrség közzétette az egyik feltételezett gyilkos fényképét.
Az újdonsült feleség nemrégiben olyan fotókat osztott meg a közösségi médiában, amelyek őt és Peccit mutatják a karibi Baru-félszigeten, utolsó bejegyzésében egy cipővel üzent meg követőinek, hogy babát vár.
A Paraguayi Ügyészek Szövetségének elnöke, Augusto Salas kijelentette: ahogyan a gyilkosok kivégeztek áldozatukat, az maffiára jellemző. A kolumbiai védelmi miniszter, Diego Molano közölte, hogy nyomozóegységet küldtek Cartagenába. A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint a csoport munkájában paraguayi és amerikai tisztviselők is részt vesznek, hogy segítsenek azonosítani és felelősségre vonni az elkövetőket.

Többek között egy januári koncerten történt lövöldözéssel is foglalkozott, ahol egy feltételezett kábítószer-kereskedő és egy focista felesége meghalt. Ismert volt arról is, hogy részt vett a brazilok korábbi klasszis labdarúgóját, Ronaldinhót érintő nyomozásban. A focista 2020 márciusa és augusztusa között rács mögé került, mert hamisított adatokkal beutazott Paraguayba.
Mario Abdo Benítez paraguayi elnök a Twitter közösségi oldalon elítélte az ügyész gyalázatos meggyilkolását. A kolumbiai rendőrség igazgatója, Jorge Luis Vargas tábornok azt mondta, nem tudott arról, hogy Pecci Kolumbiában tartózkodott.
Hozzátette: az ügyész az egyik legjobban őrzött személy volt Paraguayban, mivel a nemzetközi terrorizmussal összefüggő ügyekben nyomozott.

Jogvédő szervezetek szerint a kivégzettek jelentős része a szaúd-arábiai síita kisebbség tagja, akiket egyebek között gyilkosságért és terrorizmusért ítéltek el.
A 73 szaúd-arábiai, hét jemeni és egy szíriai állampolgárt különféle bűncselekményekért – egyebek között gyilkosságért és terrorizmusért – ítélték el. A kivégzettek között volt 37 szaúdi, akiket ugyanabban az ügyben ítéltek el. Ők biztonsági tisztségviselőket akartak meggyilkolni, illetve rendőrőrsökön és rendőrségi konvojokon ütöttek volna rajta.
A jemenieket a síita húszi lázadókhoz köthető terrorcsoport létrehozásával vádolták. A rijádi belügyminisztérium szerint az elítéltek egyebek között fegyvercsempészettel, emberrablással, kínzással, nemi erőszakkal és fegyveres rablással hozhatók kapcsolatba. A kivégzésekre szombaton került sor, miután a királyi ház megerősítette a halálos ítéleteket.
Emberi jogi aktivisták korábban többször kifogásolták a kivégzések gyakoriságát Szaúd-Arábiában. 2021 januárja és júliusa között negyven emberen hajtották végre a halálos ítéletet. 2019-ben egy nap alatt 37 embert végeztek ki a királyságban, ami nagy nemzetközi felháborodást váltott ki. Azzal vádolták az országot, hogy nem biztosít tisztességes eljárást a vádlottaknak, akikből sokszor kínzással csikarják ki a vallomást.
Jogvédő szervezetek szerint az elítéltek jelentős része a szaúd-arábiai síita kisebbség tagja. 2016 januárban 47 embert végeztek ki egyetlen nap alatt terrorizmus miatt, köztük a befolyásos síita hitszónokot, Nimr al-Nimrt. Nimr azért került börtönbe, mert bírálta a síita kisebbség elnyomását a királyságban. Kivégzése nagy felzúdulást keltett Iránban, ahol tüntetők megtámadták Szaúd-Arábia teheráni nagykövetségét.

„A testvérem egyetemi hallgató volt, csupán 22 éves” – mondta el az egyik áldozat rokona.
Amikor a katonák bevonultak, futni kezdtünk, de őt elfogták és megölték – tette hozzá.
A 2021 áprilisában a junta ellenzőiből alakult ellenzéki „nemzeti egységkormány” egyik szóvivője nyilvánosságra hozta a meggyilkoltak névsorát.
A legfiatalabb áldozat 14 éves volt. Közleményében azt írta: a hadsereg tevékenysége kimeríti a háborús bűncselekmény fogalmát.
Ezek tisztán és egyszerűen terrorcselekmények – szögezte le.
Mianmarban a hadsereg február elején, a parlament megalakulása előtt pár órával vette át a hatalmat, az államfőt és de facto miniszterelnökként dolgozó Aung Szan Szú Kjí államtanácsost, valamint a kormányzó Nemzeti Liga a Demokráciáért (NLD) több politikusát őrizetbe vették.
A hadsereg azzal indokolta a puccsot, hogy a kormány nem vette figyelembe a tavaly novemberi választással kapcsolatos panaszaikat.
A választást az NLD nyerte. A puccs óta az országban káosz és erőszak pusztít. A katonaság könyörtelen támadásokat indított a tiltakozók ellen.
A Politikai Foglyokat Támogató Szövetség (AAPP) szerint a puccs óta legalább 1300 ember vesztette életét és több mint tízezret letartóztattak.

Szeptemberig a kormány adatai szerint idén mintegy 21 495 ember halt meg bandák által elkövetett erőszakos cselekményekhez köthetően, mely havi szinten átlagosan 2400 halálos áldozatot jelent. A bűncselekmények többségét sosem sikerül feltárni. A fenti számok mellett több mint 88 ezer embert tartanak nyilván eltűntként az országban.

A szíriai hatóságok csütörtökön kivégeztek 24 embert, akiket a bíróság bűnösnek talált az országban tavaly pusztító súlyos, emberéleteket is követelő erdőtüzek okozásában, többeket pedig börtönbüntetésre ítéltek az ügyben – jelentette be az arab ország igazságügyi minisztériuma.
A tájékoztatás szerint további tizenegy embert életfogytiglani, kilencet – köztük öt fiatalkorút – különböző időtartamú börtönbüntetésre ítéltek.
A tárca szerint a kivégzettek terrorcselekményeket követtek el, amelyek emberéleteket követeltek, továbbá súlyos kárt okoztak a köztulajdonban és az infrastruktúrában is.
Jóllehet a kivégzések gyakoriak a polgárháború sújtotta országban, ritka, hogy egyszerre ilyen sok emberen hajtsanak végre halálos ítéletet. A hatóságok 2020 végén többtucat embert vettek őrizetbe, akik azt vallották, hogy tettüket előre kitervelték.
A tűzvészek 280 települést érintettek, és összesen 370 otthont romboltak le, a lángokban pedig 24 ezer hektár erdő és termőföld semmisült meg.
Tavaly októberben, az abban az időszakban szokatlanul erős hőhullám közepette a Közel-Kelet több országából jelentettek tűzvészeket, amelyek Szíriát – itt is elsősorban Latakia és Homsz tartományt – különösen súlyosan érintették.
