A szigetország nyugati és középső részében meghaladta a 200 millimétert a lehullott eső mennyisége – közölte a kubai meteorológiai intézet.
A viharok Havannát is elérték, ahol egy 69 éves férfi meghalt egy összedőlő házban, egy másik pedig megsérült. Nem messze a fővárostól még egy halálos áldozatot hagyott maga után a szél és az eső, a nyugati Pinar del Río tartományban pedig eltűnt egy ember.
Havannában 40 ház részben összedőlt, 2500 embernek el kellett hagynia otthonát. A térségben 50 ezer ember ideiglenesen áramszolgáltatás nélkül maradt.
Kubában még szombatra is jelentős esőket jeleznek előre, és a vihar a hétvégén várhatóan eléri az egyesült államokbeli Floridát is.
Az Agatha hurrikán a hét elején tíznél több emberéletet követelt Mexikóban, de a hét második felére vesztett erejéből.
