Hat év börtönre ítéltek egy tüntetőt Fehéroroszországban, mert a Lukasenka elnök elleni utcai megmozdulásokon vett részt és dobolt – közölték emberi jogi aktivisták.
Alexei Santchukot tavaly novemberben Minszkben tartóztatták le zenekarának többi tagjával együtt, akik gyakran „léptek fel” a kormányellenes tüntetéseken. A zenekar tagjait eredetileg csak 15 nap börtönbüntetéssel sújtották az engedély nélküli demonstrációkon történő részvétel miatt, melyek Aljakszandr Lukasenka fehérorosz elnök vitatott újraválasztása miatt szerveződtek.
Csütörtökön azonban egy fehérorosz bíróság további vádpontokban is bűnösnek találta Santchukot és a börtönbüntetés idejét hat évre emelte – jelezte közleményében a Viasna nevű nem kormányzati szervezet (NGO). A Viasna szerint az újabb bűnök a „közrend megsértése” és „felbujtás tömeges felkelésekre”, illetve azzal is megvádolták a dobost, hogy egy piros-fehér zászló (a fehérorosz ellenzék színei) lengetésével akadályozta a forgalmat és arra biztatta a demonstrálókat, hogy tapsoljanak.
