Az amerikai hadsereg légicsapásban megölte a venezuelai Tren de Aragua bűnszervezet vezetőjét Donald Trump bejelentése szerint. Az elnök a közösségi oldalán számolt be arról, hogy a műveletben életét vesztette Niño Guerrero.

Lezuhant egy amerikai katonai utántöltő repülőgép Nyugat-Irakban – jelentette be Washingtonban a közel-keleti műveletekért felelős Középső Parancsnokság (CENTCOM). Egyelőre nincs információ a repülőgépen tartózkodók sorsáról, kutató-mentő művelet zajlik, hogy megtalálják őket.

Számos stratégiai fontosságú intézmény, köztük a NATO és az Egyesült Államok hadseregének adatbázisaiba tört be egy spanyol hacker, akinek elfogásáról szerdán számolt be a spanyol belügyminisztérium.
A tájékoztatás szerint az elkövető több mint 40 közintézmény és magánvállalat informatikai hálózatába jutott be és fért hozzá belső dokumentumokhoz, alkalmazottak és ügyfelek személyes adataihoz.
A megszerzett információkat értékesítette, vagy különböző fórumokon hozta nyilvánosságra. A nyomozás egy évvel ezelőtt indult az ügyben, miután egy madridi székhelyű gazdasági társaság feljelentést tett adatszivárogtatás miatt.
A hacker nem csak nemzetközi szervezetek hálózataiban kutakodott, célpontjai között szerepelt a spanyol védelmi minisztérium, a csendőrség, az állami foglalkoztatási szolgálat, a pénzverde, valamint több egyetem is.
A férfit titoksértés, számítógépes rendszerekhez való jogosulatlan hozzáférés, károkozás és pénzmosás bűncselekményével gyanúsítják. Szabadlábon védekezhet, de az országot nem hagyhatja el, útlevelét bevonták, és 15 naponta jelentkeznie kell a hatóságnál.
A nyomozásban a spanyol csendőrség, a hírszerzés, a Nemzeti Kriptológiai Központ (CCN) mellett részt vett az Europol és az Egyesült Államok belbiztonsági nyomozóhatósága (HSI) is.

Helyi idő szerint nem sokkal délután 4 óra után „az amerikai tengerészgyalogság CH-53E szuperménje, amely a 3. tengerészgyalogság szárnyához tartozik, hajtóműtüzet észlelt repülés közben” – mondta Estillore.
„A gép személyzete végrehajtotta a vészhelyzeti eljárásokat, és biztonságosan leszállította a repülőgépet egy leszállózónában” – folytatódott Estillore nyilatkozata. A helikopter az autópálya északi oldalán, az Aliso Creek pihenőterület közelében landolt, közölte közleményében a California Highway Patrol.
„Kérjük, legyen óvatos, és számítson késésekre a térségben” – mondta a CHP. A helyi és a tengerészgyalogság katasztrófavédelem munkatársai vonultak ki a helyszínre, hogy eloltsák a tüzet. A Camp Pendleton a tengerészgyalogság legnagyobb nyugati parti bázisa, San Diego megyében.
A korareggeli hírek még arról szóltak, hogy az Egyesült Államok elveszítette egyik legfeljettebb vadászgépét a Vörös-tengernél. Az elmúlt 24 órában az amerikai hadsereg öt drónt és két rakétát lőtt le, amelyeket jemeni húszi lázadók indítottak a Vörös-tenger déli részén.
Az akció idején a térségben tartózkodó hajók nem számoltak be sérültekről vagy károkról – jelentette az Egyesült Államok térségbeli műveleteiért felelős Középső Parancsnoksága (CENTCOM) az X (korábbi Twitter) közösségi oldalon szombaton közzétett üzenetében. Ezenkívül a parancsnokság egy húszi járőrhajó megsemmisítéséről is beszámolt.
A Jemen nagy területeit ellenőrző húszik november óta hajtanak végre támadásokat olyan hajók ellen, amelyekről úgy vélik, hogy Izraelhez kötődnek. Azt állítják, hogy a Gázai övezetben élő palesztinok iránti szolidaritásból cselekszenek. Az övezetben Izrael véres háborút folytat a Hamász ellen, megtorlásul a palesztin iszlamista szélsőséges mozgalom október 7-én, izraeli földön elkövetett támadásáért.
A húszi támadásokra válaszul az Izraelt támogató Egyesült Államok decemberben többnemzetiségű tengeri védelmi erőt állított fel, és csapásokat hajtott végre a húszik ellen Jemenben, olykor az Egyesült Királyság segítségével. A húszik azóta kiterjesztették támadásaikat az Egyesült Államokhoz és az Egyesült Királysághoz kapcsolódó hajókra is.

Kentuckyban összeütközött az amerikai hadsereg két helikoptere. A balesetben több ember meghalt.
Az incidens amerikai idő szerint szerda éjjel történt. A The New York Times a hadsereg egyik szóvivőjére hivatkozva azt írta, hogy Kentucky államban egy kiképzőmissziót tartottak, ekkor történt a baleset.
A szóvivő még nem beszélt arról, hogy vannak-e sérültek vagy halálos áldozatok. A The Gazette című lap viszont azt írta, hogy többen is meghaltak a balesetben.
A portál egy helyi forrásra, a WKDZ Radióra hivatkozva azt írta, hogy helyi idő szerint egész pontosan 9.30-kor történt a baleset, és a gépek a Fort Campbell-i támaszpontról szálltak fel. Az ütközés Trigg megyében történt, Fort Campbelltől nyugatra.
A The Gazette szerint a hatóságok egyelőre nem adtak hivatalos tájékoztatást arról, hogy hányan haltak meg, de a nem hivatalos jelentések szerint összesen kilenc ember vesztette életét a balesetben.
Andy Beshear, Kentucky kormányzója szintén azt írta a Twitteren, hogy rossz hírekre kell számítani, és hogy valószínűsíthetően több halálos áldozata is van a balesetnek.
A The Gazette szerint a mentők csak egy órával a baleset után érkeztek a helyszínre, így a vizsgálatok még mindig javában zajlanak.
A helyszínről érkező nem hivatalos jelentések szerint a 9 halott a híres 101. légi szállítású hadosztály (becenevén: Screaming Eagles, vagyis Vijjogó Sasok) katonája volt. Az alakulat egy része az ukrajnai háború kezdete óta a NATO keleti szárnyán is szolgálatot lát el.
A WKDZ Radio több képet is közzétett már a baleset helyszínéről. A fotók alapján két amerikai UH–60 Blackhawk helikopter ütközhetett össze.

Az amerikai hadsereg támogatásával a kolumbiai biztonsági erők feltartóztattak a Karib-tengeren egy kábítószercsempészésre használt motorcsónakot, fedélzetén 3,4 tonna kokainnal – közölte a kolumbiai haditengerészet vasárnap.
A lefoglalt drog értékét több mint 120 millió dollárra (40 milliárd forint) becsülik.
A tájékoztatás szerint a kolumbiai légierő és haditengerészet az amerikai hadsereg közreműködésével tudta a gyanús motorcsónakot észlelni, amelyet a parti őrség gyorsreagálású erőinek egy vízihajszát követően a Kolumbiához tartozó San Andrés és Providencia szigetcsoporttól 220 kilométerre sikerült megállítaniuk.
A motorcsónak Kolumbiából indult Közép-Amerikába, legénységét – három nicaraguai és két Costa Rica-i állampolgárt – őrizetbe vették.
Kolumbia a világ egyik legnagyobb kokatermesztő országa. Közel 169 ezer hektáron termesztenek kokacserjét, amelynek szárított leveleit a perui és bolíviai indiánok évszázadok óta rágják élénkítőszerként. A levélből kivonható kokain azonban erős és illegális kábítószer. A legnagyobb mennyiséget ebből a drogból az Egyesült Államokba csempészik.
